Placement Experience:

The campus placements are great at FMS Delhi. Almost all good companies visit the campus for recruitment. In the very first semester, companies visit for the summer placement process where the average stipend this year was 1.5 lakh/per month and the highest stipend was 2.2 lakhs per month. Also, there are final placements conducted where the median package is around 30 lakhs per annum and the highest package goes above 60 lakhs per annum. Talking about the percentage of placements, all the students are placed in the companies visiting the campus and the placement record is 100% till now.

Remarks:

The waitlist should be moved somewhat faster as many students are looking for admission and some students have to join the course even after 2-3 months of course initiation. This leads to a gap between the studies and students have to suffer due to the same.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for internships in the first semester and final placements in the fourth semester of the course. Asian Paints, Coca-Cola, J&J, Dabur, ITC, HUL, Adobe, Amazon, Media.net, Microsoft, Avendus, Nomura, HSBC, Standard Chartered, Citi Bank, HDFC Bank, BCG, Bain, Kearney, Accenture are some of the top firms visiting the campus for placements. For the 2020-2022 batch, 262 offers were made to 257 students appearing for placements. For the 2020-2022 batch, the highest and average packages were 58 and 32.4 lakhs respectively in Sales & Marketing, Finance, Product Management, IT, Analytics, Consulting, and General Management roles. 100% of students appearing for placements were offered jobs on campus. My plan is to work in a Sales & Marketing firm and learn under the guidance of top professional managers.

Remarks:

The FMS form was rolled out before CAT and we had a sufficient deadline to fill the form. On the basis of CAT scores, the composite score is evaluated with 40%, 30%, and 30% weightage to VARC, DILR, and QA sections respectively. The college shortlisted a certain number of students based on the composite scores and then an interview was conducted with each of the candidates. Eligibility of course: Any student with a graduation degree or in the final year of graduation is eligible for the course along with a minimum of 50% score in graduation. All details regarding the application form, fees, and dates are available on the FMS website. The interview process was extremely smooth and even the results were declared within a short span of time.

Ques. How is life at FMS Delhi?

● Top Answer By Sidhharth Jain on 10 Jan 23

The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) is part of one of the world's most prestigious universities, The University of Delhi. MBA from FMS is a dream that many people have, but only a few achieve. Established in 1954, the institute was incepted with a focus on management education and not just on business management. Academics: You will quickly realise that there is no room for boredom at FMS; you will always be on your toes, rushing to classes, attending guest lectures, submitting assignments, preparing case studies, and so on. Academics at FMS are more than just whiteboard or PowerPoint presentations in the classroom; they also include field trips, group tasks, individual/group projects, and bunking together to encourage you to think beyond FMS. Extracurricular Activities: Aside from academics, life at FMS will be surrounded by various student societies that will provide you with exciting events to keep you busy. The B-school basically forces you to participate in competitions and live projects that will allow you to explore the seemingly limitless opportunities available to B-school students. The routine of the Day: A typical day in the life of an FMS student begins around 8 a.m. when he or she wakes up and prepares to attend class, which begins promptly at 9. Every day, there are four classes for one hour each. The classes are followed once or twice a week by a Guest Lecture by eminent personalities from the industry who provide first-hand experience and great insights into the ever-changing business scenario. Annual Festivals and Clubs: Aside from academics, the college participates in a variety of co-curricular activities. The various clubs under the purview of cultural society, namely Nethra - the photography club, KALA - the fine arts club, and Agamya - the literary and debate club, hold events throughout the year, allowing students to pursue their hobbies and interests in various fields. Library: The Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) Library is a valuable resource for students, researchers, and business and management faculty. has amassed a substantial library of over 50,000 books, over 100 journals (including 60 foreign journals), 12 newspapers, and numerous other resources such as theses, student project reports, CDs, various reports, economic survey reports, and so on....Read more

Ques. What are the pros and cons of doing an MBA from FMS Delhi University?

● Top Answer By Sagardeep on 10 Jan 23

There's no point in going over the usual benefits like placements, good professors, university infrastructure and fees, and so on. However, it is critical to consider some genuine and neutral arguments in favor of IIMs (at least in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta). When making decisions, many B-school aspirants mention ROI. The wealth maximization theory provides the NPV method, which is superior to the rate of return theory. Your future cash flows are indeed influenced by your B-school, and the difference is usually large enough to outweigh the outflow in year zero. An important question to ask yourself is, "Are you doing an MBA to save money or to add value?" If the latter is your answer, you should be prepared to pay a reasonable price for it. There's a reason people like the IIM label. It still carries some clout in the market. In terms of B-school brand value, an IIM has a faster growth rate. As a result, there is a chance that FMS will lose to IIM IKS in the next 10-15 years. Having a subsidized university education comes with its own set of costs. Placements are completely student-led. There is no credit system, which makes student exchange difficult. For FMS, the semester system is the norm, which has its own drawbacks....Read more

Ques. How is it like being at FMS Delhi? Would you trade your life with someone studying in top IIMs A B or C?

● Top Answer By Gaurav Yadav on 10 Jan 23

In comparison to the IIMs, FMS retains the advantages of small batch size and a fee structure that is relatively low. The small batch size simplifies placements significantly. With the exception of a few foreign consultancies, most of the top companies that visit the IIMs also visit FMS. Despite all of the university's bureaucracy, etc., there is a well-established alumni network that still ensures that things work out for the current batches. Because of the small batch size, people are extremely competitive. This was in stark contrast to what you hear about the IIMs. Even though they have competition but they maintain some semblance of sanity due to the large batch. FMS can be difficult to manage at times, both in obvious behaviours and subtle actions by people you study with. The culture at FMS is influenced by the culture of Delhi. In comparison, IIMs are unquestionably more cosmopolitan. Unless you have prior exposure, adjusting to a new environment can be difficult for people from very different cultures, such as the South or East. Otherwise, you'll have to learn to adjust the hard way. But it's still worth the effort. The people you meet in both locations are of the highest calibre. It is up to you to make the best of the situation. Even if given the chance, there's no way one would like to trade places with the IIMs....Read more
