Which is a better B-school between FMS, ISB and IIM Lucknow?

The student fraternity of ISB is very different from that of FMS and IIM Lucknow. ISB requires a minimum of 2 years and an average of 4 years of work experience for admission. Whereas IIM Lucknow and FMS focus more on academics and almost 40% of the batch comprises freshers. Others have 2 or fewer years of experience. My answer is divided into 3 parts If you have work experience of 2 or fewer years: In this case, you should give up on ISB and totally focus on FMS or IIM Lucknow. Personally, I would suggest you go for IIM Lucknow because of its brand image. Despite the fact that FMS offers high ROI, you can never underestimate the value of an IIM tag. If you have work experience of 2-3 years: This is the toughest decision as you can nearly go for ISB but will be risking a lot including its extravagant fees. But you won’t regret choosing ISB because of its peers, faculty, research orientation, and campus life. It is also the place where all the big consulting firms come for placements. So if you value reputed firms a lot then go for ISB. If you have above 3 years of experience: Close your eyes and without thinking choose ISB.

Why are IIM A, B, and C valued over FMS, Delhi when the difference between the fees are so high?

People often pose the question that despite the high fees, why do some people still prefer IIMs over FMS? Well, I think I can answer it with confidence since my father is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad. He told me that he was able to transform into a new person all because of IIM Ahmedabad. He was able to achieve many impossible things just because he chose IIM Ahmedabad. I have mentioned a few points that will help you understand what I mean After completing his MBA from IIM Ahmedabad he was able to pursue a technical MS and Ph.D. in Computer Science from North America. He is now well settled in the US. He thinks it would have been impossible to move out of India had he not chosen IIM Ahmedabad. IIM Ahmedabad gave him the mindset and skills of finding opportunities in life and businesses and making the most out of them. The case-based pedagogy helped him tackle all kinds of problems he encountered in his life, be it scientific, academic, or business. It gave him the confidence to start his own business. Although it did not go quite well he still was proud to have the guts to try it. He had the excellent opportunity to learn from the best peers who were handpicked from a group of 80,000 applicants. So IIM Ahmedabad is still preferred over FMS. It has its own brand value which will continue to shine over the years.

How would you rank the following business schools, ISB, IIM A, B, C, L, XLRI, FMS, and SPJIMR?

The ranking order of these B-Schools is as follows. IIM A > IIM B > IIM C > IIM L > XLRI > FMS > SPJIMR > ISB. This ranking order is based on various parameters like academics, faculty, alumni base, location, ROI, brand value, batch size, etc. Although this is a general ranking. For certain specialization or some specific factor, the ranking will be different. For example, if we talk about HR specialization, XLRI will be ranked above all the other colleges. XLRI HRM is the best Human Resource Management program in the Asia Pacific region.

FMS Delhi Ranking 2023: IIRF, BT-MDRA, Outlook I-Care, Economic Times

FMS Delhi is a prominent business school of India and is ranked as a top college by a majority of the ranking agencies. FMS Delhi has been ranked 5^th by IIRF Rankings 2023. This year the ranking droped down by -1. FMS does not participate in NIRF Rankings hence one may not find it in the NIRF MBA rankings 2022. Internships Opportunities:

For the internship opportunities, a placement process is conducted where most of the companies visit to recruit the students. The average stipend this year was 1.5 lakhs per month and the highest stipend was 2.2 lakhs per month. The placements happened in all the domains like consulting, product management, finance, marketing, and, general management. The major recruiters were McKinsey and company, Bain, BCG, Accenture Strategy, Dabur, HUL, Asian Paints, ITC, Uber, etc.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements are great at FMS Delhi. Almost all good companies visit the campus for recruitment. In the very first semester, companies visit for the summer placement process where the average stipend this year was 1.5 lakh/per month and the highest stipend was 2.2 lakhs per month. Also, there are final placements conducted where the median package is around 30 lakhs per annum and the highest package goes above 60 lakhs per annum. Talking about the percentage of placements, all the students are placed in the companies visiting the campus and the placement record is 100% till now.

FMS has the Best placements among top B-schools because of its batch size and quality of students when compared to other top B-Schools. FMS has a record of 100% placements over the past few years. The average package is Rs. 33,00,000/- per year which is above the top B-Schools and its median is Rs.30,00,000/- which is the best among top B-Schools in India. RIO is the highest among all the B-Schools in India. Top companies from all domains visit the campus to recruit students. The 2021-2023 batch had one of the best summer internships placements with firms such as BCG, Bain, Kearney, TAS, Microsoft, Media.net, Atlassian, Adobe, Google, White Oak Capital, DE Shaw, Renew Power, Standard Chartered, Citi Bank, Reckitt, Asian Paints, Coca-Cola, ITC, HUL, Mondelez participating in the internship process. The highest stipend of 5 lakhs was offered by IB/PE/VC firms and an average stipend of 2.62 lakhs.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for internships in the first semester and final placements in the fourth semester of the course. Asian Paints, Coca-Cola, J&J, Dabur, ITC, HUL, Adobe, Amazon, Media.net, Microsoft, Avendus, Nomura, HSBC, Standard Chartered, Citi Bank, HDFC Bank, BCG, Bain, Kearney, Accenture are some of the top firms visiting the campus for placements. For the 2020-2022 batch, 262 offers were made to 257 students appearing for placements. For the 2020-2022 batch, the highest and average packages were 58 and 32.4 lakhs respectively in Sales & Marketing, Finance, Product Management, IT, Analytics, Consulting, and General Management roles. 100% of students appearing for placements were offered jobs on campus. My plan is to work in a Sales & Marketing firm and learn under the guidance of top professional managers.

Almost all major/ dream roles come to campus in every domain. Major consulting names like McKinsey, Bain, etc come regularly. Also, big fin companies come to get students onboard for this role including but not limited to IB, Equity research, project financing, etc.

Placement Experience:

Lots of big corporate names visit the campus and students are provided with ample opportunities to prove their knowledge. The placement team does a very good work of bringing such companies on board. Students become eligible after 3rd semester for placements. Also, a big chunk of them gets PPO during the internship itself.

Internships Opportunities:

My internship company was good enough and I learned a lot of things. First, my social skills improved, then learning how to think structurally was also a big plus point for me. The average stipend for FMS Delhi for SIP goes to Rs three lakhs per two months with many good companies visiting our college.

Placement Experience:

Placement offers for us are good and on average, we get a salary of Rs 25 to 30 lakhs per annum from good organizations. Our college has hundred percent placements. The companies called by our CRAP team are all highly recognized companies.
