Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of WAT / GD (if any).

Radhika: FMS Delhi did not conduct any WAT/ GD for MBA admissions in 2022.

Collegedunia Team: Describe the general setting of your personal Interview.

Radhika: FMS has an offline extempore round where topics are given by the panellists impromptu after a brief conversation with the interviewee.

As a pro tip, the conversation can be steered in the direction one wants to in almost any PI. Make sure to mention points you would further like to talk about in the intro. A friend of mine mentioned badminton as his interest, so the follow up questions were about names of famous badminton players from India. For example in the FMS interview, extempore topics were many times picked on spot by the panellists based on the small talk they just had.

There were two panellists, both faculty. Interview lasted for around 10-15 minutes and was not a stressful interview. The panellists tried to have a very natural conversation and were most importantly looking for students who would be a culture fit for the college. Questions too reflected that and ample patience was displayed as they also gave multiple chances to students to open up and speak in case they were initially hesitant.

Collegedunia Team: Mention at least 5 questions that were asked in IIM Sirmaur Interview and how you responded to each of them?

Radhika: The series of questions that were asked during the Interview are:

Ques 1. Why is West Bengal named so when it's in the east of India?

Ans. Told about the creation of Bangladesh and how that was the east and the remaining part in India was west relative to that. (Know your roots, know about yourself and places you have lived in)

Ques 2. What is the new super app launched by Tatas?

Ans. Tata Neu (More follow up on that, if superapps are ethical or not, Amazon controversy regarding it's bestsellers)

Ques 3. Number of zeros in million and billion? (This was a follow up question after answering revenue market cap and profit of TCS)

Ans. I told them that there are 6 and 9 zeros. (Stress interviews can make you forget a thing as simple as that too, so keep your calm)

Ques 4. Which are your top 5 favourite books / authors?

Ans. Jeffrey Archer / Premchand/ Agatha Christie/ JK Rowling/O Henry. (Long discussion about books followed up, hence do your homework before mentioning books)

Ques 5. What do you like about college ? Why IIM XYZ or Why FMS ?

Ans. Answered the specific answer made up for that very campus. (Go through websites, talk to the students, know insider info and create an answer that is bound to impress them).

Collegedunia Team: Mention any three reasons why you chose this college over other colleges which you converted.

Radhika: So after converting all of my wishlist (IIM ABCLKI & FMS) I had to prioritise my expectations from my dream college.

FMS topped my list because:

  1. Located in the Heart of Delhi. Best in terms of exposure.
  2. The amazing faculty, alumni and profile of students making the cut. Best students from the top percentile of the country for peer learning.
  3. The amazing ROI it offers. Best one can expect from an MBA college.
