Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as it provides me with a good acumen of business and helps me learn a lot about real-life business case studies. The faculty-to-student ratio is almost 1:8 which is a good number. Also, the teachers are very good in terms of their way of teaching and experience. most of the faculty hold Ph.D. degrees and have deep knowledge about their subjects. Exams are held on a timely basis and some subjects are somewhat difficult to study but interesting.

FMS is rated as one of the top 5 B-Schools in India. There are multiple reasons to select an MBA course at FMS. It has students from different backgrounds and varied experiences who add to the rich culture of FMS. There are around 25 to 30 permanent faculty members and 10+ visiting faculty. Most of them are with more than 15+ years of teaching experience and 10+ years of Industry experience. Though the curriculum of FMS is the same as other B-Schools here we have only 2 semesters. I chose this course to get a better business understanding of various industries. Also, it helps me leverage peer and alumni networks and learns under the experience of eminent faculty members. Faculty: The student ratio is around 1:3. Every permanent faculty member is a Ph.D. The teaching methodology at FMS consists of case studies, lectures and even role plays to enable interactive discussion among the students and teachers. Yes, pursuing an MBA Executive from FMS Delhi is indeed a very good decision. This is because my brother was in the recent batch and according to him these are the reasons that make it a good choice ROI: The fees charged at this B School are very less in comparison to other B schools. Rigor: The MBA Executive Program is quite rigorous with classes 6 days a week. Regular exams, sessionals, projects, and assignments make it a bit frustrating but in the end, they help you in clearing semesters. Faculty: The faculty for this program is very experienced and knowledgeable. Mixed batch: The diverse profiles of your peers make it a more challenging and thrilling experience. The tuition Fees at FMS Delhi are one of the lowest and most affordable Business schools in the country. The Annual tuition fee for MBA-Full Time and Ph.D. programs at FMS is INR 10,480/-year. For MBA-Executive and MBA-Executive (Health Care Administration) programs, the annual fee is INR 50,000 in two equal installments of INR 25,000 each. FMS does not have a hostel facility so its students live in the vicinity of the campus in PFs and flats. The monthly expenses range from 15-30k based on your maintenance. However, the campus hostel is cheap and excellent. The fee for the campus hostel is INR 1400 for accommodation and INR 1200 for food. So the total fees is very low compared to other top B Schools that are similar in ranking to FMS. Also if you consider the following ROI, FMS students don’t have to really pay much from their pocket Stipend from summer placements National level scholarships, Merit based scholarships, and Need-based scholarships offer lakhs of rupees in awards and grants A number of opportunities of providing paid consulting to top corporates Working with various firms and organizations on live projects and experiential learning programs. The MBA programme at FMS Delhi is inexpensive, but the placements at FMS are on par with or even exceed the packages received by students at the top three IIMs during campus placements. , at the risk of being forced to do so. As a result, many candidates who are offered admission to IIMs select the FMS Delhi MBA programme as their top choice. The two-year MBA programme at FMS Delhi costs Rs.1.92 lakhs. The FMS Delhi MBA fees have risen significantly. FMS Delhi MBA fees for its two-year full-time course have now increased to Rs.48,000/- per semester (Rs.1.92 lakhs for two years) from Rs.25,000/- two years ago. The fee is due at the start of the academic year. PWD students will be exempt from paying all fees except the Admission fee and the Identity Card fee. In addition to this fee, the students have established a registered body, the Management Science Association (MSA), which consists of various societies and charges a membership fee for carrying out student activities. Ques. How good is SPJIMR's PGDM? I’m looking at the current placement records of over 26L average. Is it performing better than top B-schools like XLRI/FMS/IIM?

SPJIMR has been among the top 5 or 10 B Schools over the past few years consistently. Its brand value can be compared to XLRI, FMS, and even IIMs except for IIM ABC. This is because even now there are some roles offered to IIM ABC students that are not offered at SPJIMR. But this is not a major issue as these roles seek only extraordinary profiles and In Fact, many other roles offered at IIM ABC are lower than average. In SPJIMR even the lowest package is decent and the range of salary is not very broad. This year, SPJIMR's average package stood at INR 33.02 LPA. Other key points to note in comparison to old IIMs is that our Highest CTC is lower than that of IIMs but our Lowest CTC is higher than that of IIMs. So I will suggest anyone with an exceptionally good profile to choose IIM whereas someone with a decent average profile should go for SPJIMR only. It is important to note that getting roles at SPJIMR is a bit easier than IIMs mainly because of the small batch size and less competition....Read more

Ques. What is a better option between IIM Ahmedabad and FMS Delhi given that I have no financial help from my parents?

Financially speaking, FMS Delhi is a better option. The fees are extremely low compared to most other B Schools. The low fees do not compromise the quality of education here. But the accommodation and other expenses are high in Delhi. So the best option is to get a hostel in DU. But if you are okay with below-average rooms then rooms are available near FMS in the Malka Ganj area. They cost around INR 4000-7000. If you go for IIM Ahmedabad, the scholarships and student loans will help you a lot. They will cover your tuition and hostel fees and will have to just pay your personal expenses (10k-15k in PG). One won’t regret investing in IIM Ahmedabad in the long run. But the ultimate choice is yours....Read more
