UPES, School of Design is awarded excellence in Design Education at the Adobe Education Leaders Summit and Awards. UPES Dehradun offers a full-time 4-year B.Des program in 8 specializations. The program is divided into 8 semesters. Students of B.Des will have the facility to choose a specialization subject in their 2nd Semester and a Minor subject in the 3rd Semester. UPESDAT 2024 Exam Pattern

UPESDAT 2024 is an online test to be conducted for 1 hour. The exam consists of 40 MCQs or Objective type questions of 100 marks. The medium of the language test will be English. The exam is divided into the following 2 sections:

Interview and Portfolio Presentation of UPES B.Des

Candidates who will appear for the Interview and Portfolio Presentation of B.Des are required to bring the following with themselves:

  • Carry your own hand-drawn Sketches made of Pencils/colors/markers/charcoal or any other medium. A sketch can be anything related to nature, daily life objects, or any experimented sketches.
  • You can showcase your photography skills by carrying innovative photos and pictures clicked by you OR any kind of experiment or digital media innovation that you have performed in the picture through any tools or techniques.
  • Bring any Physical model or prototype made of clay, plastics, wood, cardboard, etc.

UPES Dehradun B.Des Scholarships

UPES Dehradun offers the following 3 types of scholarships to B.Des students. The details of the amount and eligibility are given below: 

For Uttarakhand Residents

33% of tuition fees will be waived off for the students with permanent residence ship of Uttarakhand on a Merit Basis provided with the following condition:

  • Family Income of a Student must not be more than 12 lakhs.
  • Students must be in possession of a Permanent Residence Certificate issued by the competent authority.
  • It is not mandatory to have passed class X and XII from Uttarakhand if they have a Permanent Residence Certificate of Uttarakhand.

Girls Child Scholarship

20% of the First Year Tuition fee will be waived off for all the Girls taking admission in UG courses provided that they have secured a minimum of 70% marks in the XII Boards Exam. This Scholarship can be renewed for subsequent years if the given conditions are followed:

  • Students must not discontinue at any stage of registration.
  • Must have attendance 85% or above in each semester.
  • Must obtain a minimum 8.0 CGPA in the previous year.
  • Must have passed all the courses on the first attempt.
  • Must not have appeared in the improvement examination in any semester.
