Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) B.Tech admission 2023 is ongoing now. The last date to apply for Thapar University B.Tech Admission 2023 is August 17, 2023. The application fee for applying to the B.Tech course is INR 1500. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) BTech admission process involved JEE Main/ NEET/ Class 12 percentile. The institute gives admission to 50% of its seats via JEE Main percentile. The remaining 50% of seats are filled based on Class 12 (PCM) percentile. Admission to BTech in Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering is done via NEET percentile for 50% of seats. For the B.Tech program, the candidate should have secured a minimum of 60% (55% marks for SC/ST candidates) marks in aggregate in Class 12th. Admission to B.Tech will be done based on marks obtained by the candidate in the JEE Mains.

Thapar University BTech Admission 2023

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET) admits candidates for BTech admission via JEE Main percentile and 10+2 percentile. 50% of the seats in Thapar University’s BTech program are filled with national-level exam percentile and the remaining 50% of seats with 10+2 in the PCM percentile. For BTech in Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering, NEET scores are taken into consideration for 50% of seats. The remaining 50% are filled via 10+2 scores.

TIET also has a special provision for candidates scoring the highest marks in 10+2. The first five toppers of any recognized board of 10+2 held in 2022 will be direct admission to the first year of the UG program. The condition given that the student must have appeared for the JEE Main exam 2022. Entrance scores will not be taken into consideration for admission. Only toppers with the first five positions in science streams (non-Medical) at 10+2 shall be considered. Such students will be allocated a branch of their choice after furnishing the proof of being a topper. The tuition fees will also be waived off for such students if they maintain a minimum 8.5 CGPA in subsequent semesters.

A candidate is eligible for admission into the Second year of BE, if:

• Candidate has a diploma, in any relevant discipline with 2 to 3 years of minimum duration after 10th class. The minimum aggregate mark in this degree is 60% (55% for SC/ST).

Admission to Thapar University BTech (Lateral Entry) is merit-based. Candidates scoring 60% aggregate marks in relevant Diploma Degrees are given admission to the second year of BE. After allocating all the seats to the candidates with diplomas in relevant disciplines, if there are any vacant seats, a maximum of 10% of the sanctioned seats is offered to the candidates having diplomas in another discipline based on the merit of marks secured in the Diploma.
