Even though colleges like LPU, Sharda and Amity spend a lot of money advertising themselves, these private institutions provide plenty of opportunities to their students. It is ultimately the students’ responsibility to make use of these opportunities. Deserving candidates are offered scholarships by these educational institutions.
Private Universities are the face of the modern Indian Education System after the IITs and NITs. The high end infrastructure and research facilities at top private engineering colleges has resulted in projecting India as a center of excellence in higher education. Moreover, the faculty and teaching standards at these institutions are of good quality.
Thus, Lovely Professional University, Sharda University, Amity University, etc. have a good reputation and credibility.
My sister completed her BTech ECE from LPU in 2018. She was placed in BSH Bosch Home Appliance in the 3rd year of BTech and she didn't have to study for the 4th year as she got placed early and went for her training.
From her experience, LPU is quite good. I will mention the points in favour of her statement:
1. LPU Placements
Top MNCs and organizations like Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, and Cognizant Technology have visited the LPU campus for placement in the recent years. Students got placed at CTCs of stirking INR 3 crore (Yasir M.) and INR 1 crore, the highest package is INR 42 LPA.
One thing she highlighted was the fact that LPU focused on placement assistance and mentoring. They take soft skills and training classes before the placement season.
2. Internships and Industry Immersion
University offers ‘industry immersion’ facility to the students. LPU has collaborated with major companies and students have gained the experience and exposure by interning in companies like ISRO, Infosys, Microsoft, Cognizant and many more.
3. Campus Facilities
The security measures are strict in the campus. The residential facilities are also good.
4. Academics and Curriculum
Students get to work on live industry-relevant projects. The additional lectures and workshops help students enhance their existing knowledge.
As a former student of B.Tech IT at LPU, I can only provide information about my own college. Here are a few benefits of joining LPU for your B.Tech IT-
These are some of the many reasons I chose LPU for my B.Tech IT.
Lovely Professional University (LPU), Jalandhar was ranked 99th in the NIRF Ranking for Engineering colleges for the year 2020. It offers a number of degree courses like B.TECH, M.TECH, M.Sc., PHD and B.TECH + M.TECH (dual degree) in many disciplines.
The college offers M.TECH under various streams like Computer Science Engineering (CSE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Robotics, Power System etc. to name a few.
HOW TO APPLY?
In order to apply for admission in LPU, the students must fill up the application form provided by the university. The application fees for the online form and soft copy of LPUNEST is INR 800 for male candidates and INR 500 for female candidates.
ADMISSION PROCESS:
The students must appear for LPUNEST (Lovely Professional University National Scholarship and Entrance Test) conducted by LPU, Jalandhar in order to take admission in M.Tech.
The admission in M.Tech at LPU, Jalandhar is done on merit basis of the qualifying examination conducted by the university.
FEES STRUCTURE:
The fees per year for M.TECH at LPU is around INR. 54,600 per semester. The total fees that a student needs to pay for the two year course of M.TECH is around INR 2.18 lakhs.
ELIGIBILITY:-
The student must have secured an aggregate of at least 60% marks in their graduation (B. Tech/ B.E./MCA/M.SC).
They must have graduated from the same or an equivalent stream in which they wish to pursue M. Tech.
PLACEMENTS:-
The college offers excellent placement opportunities to the students.
The highest domestic package offered at LPU, Jalandhar was around INR. 42 lakhs per annum offered by Microsoft.
The average package was around INR. 5 LAKHS per annum. The students from Engineering receive the maximum number of offers.
In the year 2019, over 650+ companies visit the campus for placement.
An IT Expert company named Capgemini alone recruited 130+ Engineering students.
Among the top recruiters at LPU, Jalandhar are: - AMAZON, MICROSOFT, COGNIZANT, CAPGEMINI, TECH MAHINDRA, BOSCH and WIPRO to name a few.
The first thing that comes to my mind is the accessibility. Chandigarh University is around 17 kms away from Chandigarh and there are less transportation facilities to commute from Chandigarh to the university. LPU, on the other hand is 19 kms away from Jalandhar, but the campus is established on the main route.
As far as the placement department is concerned, more than 500+ recruiters visit the campus for placements every year. BTech CSE placements at LPU recorded INR 42 lakhs as the highest salary package. Additionally, LPU had 110+ recruiters from top colleges like IITs, IIMs, and NITs. The highest monthly stipend for any kind of internship at LPU is around 80k.
So in my opinion, LPU is better for CSE than Chandigarh University.
If you are looking to pursue B.Tech in CSE, LPU is a better choice than GNDU. LPU has been offering professional education since 2001 and has a vision of providing education from local to global level and from classroom to web-based education.
Here are some reasons why LPU is a great option for B.Tech in CSE:
If you want to pursue B.Tech in CSE, based on the information shared by my friend, LPU is the best university for this course.
Being a student of LPU, I can provide the perks I received since I chose it. LPU has a better NIRF Ranking as compared to SHUATS. LPU was ranked 27 as per NIRF 2023. LPU also provides ample opportunities for internships and has a good placement track record. T
LPU also has an updated curriculum, industry exposure, and also partners with top organizations to help their students. I have seen LPU offering placements to all its students from UG to PhD. The highest package for an agriculture PhD Student was 1 Crore per annum.
The top recruiting companies were Dhanuka, Reliance Retail, Syngenta, Bio Seed, Nestle, etc. The highest package was 19.25 LPA and the average package was 3.4 LPA in my current placement session. All LPU students also get placement classes to help them and prepare for future.
Choosing between LPU and ITM University Gwalior depends on their academic offerings and rankings.
Lovely Professional University (LPU) is often considered a good choice for pursuing a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) for several compelling reasons:
Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) is famous for its petroleum engineering course. It provides in-depth knowledge of animation design, visual effects and upstream applications for 3D modeling, character animation, character rigging, texturing and lighting, visual effects and more.Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) is renowned for its petroleum engineering course. It provides intensive knowledge of animation design, visual effects, and subsequent application to 3D modeling, character animation, character rigging, texture and lighting, visual effects, and more.
If you’re looking for a diverse range of specializations, comprehensive curriculum, experienced faculty, and excellent placement opportunities, LPU is a good choice. However, if you’re specifically interested in petroleum engineering, PDPU might be a better fit.
