Campus Life:

My university is one of the biggest universities in Germany. So, infrastructure wise, facility wise, also in terms of providing a startup environment and incubators and digital accelerator, it was good. I did a background research on how the university works and functions so, I could get a good understanding on whom to contact.

Hostel:

As a student we need to save a lot. So, I will go for a sharing room and it will cost around $500-$600. Maybe the utilities will be included or not.

it is really tough to get a dorm in germany. there is systematic way to process it and the waiting is usually upto 8-9 months.

RWTH Aachen is anonymous to some old IIT in India. It has an amazing infrastructure and is one of the biggest universities in Germany. Aachen itself has its city charm as it is a border city of 3 countries. As far as the data science program is concerned, the Godfather of process mining is the head of the PADS department here and it is a very rare and amazing opportunity to work in a field under the one who almost created it.

The average living cost for single apartments in Aachen is around 350 EUR/ MONTH. Shared apartments are cheaper.

RWTH is the best University for research in Germany with the highest amount of funding. Moreover, RWTH is the best for Communications Engineering in Germany.

The student dorms are limited and thus have a long waiting list and these come under the student council of the university. So, most of the students stay on their own. However, the cost of student dorms and private ones are almost the same but they depend and vary according to your choices. On average, the rent is approximately 300 euros to the limit you want and the food costs on average around 200 euros. The accommodation whether private or student dorms generally comes with all mundane facilities like washing machine, kitchen equipments, room heating, and all.

The ranking of this university in my subject which was Physics is 43 at that time. The reputation of that university is one of the main reason. My focus was on nanotechnology and Quantum technology and this institute has the best faculty for that. The city in which the college is situated is one of the cheapest in Germany.
