MD ENZAMAMUL HAQUE Review at RWTH Aachen University [RWTH], Aachen | Collegedunia

Institute has BEST faculty

MH
6.7 /10

The ranking of this university in my subject which was Physics is 43 at that time. The reputation of that university is one of the main reason. My focus was on nanotechnology and Quantum technology and this institute has the best faculty for that. The city in which the college is situated is one of the cheapest in Germany.

Course Curriculum :

My own course was very academically focused and was there to prepare the students for further research. However, there are professional courses but they are also very extensive and students have to be self-aware of their studies.

Exams :

The requirements when I applied were a good academic record and an IELTS score for Physics. However, it may vary for a different course. Now, the GRE subject is also compulsory along with an IELTS score of at least 6 or TOEFL. My overall IELTS Score was 7. There are basically two types of courses one which is publicly funded and the other which have tuition fee and comes under the international academy of the University and these courses are usually in English. However, some of the publicly funded courses are also taught in English like Physics.

Placement :

The placements are generally quite good. The university's reputation works well for the students even when they didn't get campus placement. The research opportunities are very good as the academic curriculum of the university is very rich and updated.

Internship :

I personally have not applied for any internship yet. However, there is various acquaintances of mine who did. The average stipend is around 2-3K euros

Events :

The campus infrastructure is well-designed and well-equipped. There is various students organization and each has its different roles and activities that one can join like the language hub where students from different countries meet and try to learn different languages. There are also student organizations based in the home country. However, the student dorms are limited and they come under the student council of the University.

Fees :

For my course there was no tuition fee. However, I have to submit a semester contribution of around 292 euros every semester which includes travel costs and all.

Scholarship :

Not as such, but there was no tuition fee and there are opportunities for jobs within the university for students called HiWi jobs.

Faculty :

As the university is a very reputed one, the faculty staffs are very well versed and are quite friendly and one can approach them quite easily. The professors and their assistants follow various different techniques for teaching and all the materials were available online and one can access those by their IDs

Hostel :

The student dorms are limited and thus have a long waiting list and these come under the student council of the university. So, most of the students stay on their own. However, the cost of student dorms and private ones are almost the same but they depend and vary according to your choices. On average, the rent is approximately 300 euros to the limit you want and the food costs on average around 200 euros. The accommodation whether private or student dorms generally comes with all mundane facilities like washing machine, kitchen equipments, room heating, and all.
