Piyush Kulkarni Review at RWTH Aachen University [RWTH], Aachen | Collegedunia

My University

PK
8.8 /10

Most of the time, I was in touch with the people who I knew from my professional network. The other source was Google.

Course Curriculum :

My course was quite intense. We had modular examination pattern which basically meant that once the course has been taught, we have to give the exams in the next week. Of course, we get to select when we want to give the exam. But, that was pretty intense because there were a lot of practical activities going on simultaneously.

Exams :

The minimum marks needed to get into any kind of masters were 60% aggregate. Mine was around 64.4% aggregate in the final year of my bachelors. I had to submit my 10th and 12th mark sheets. For my course, they needed work experience in management field. We needed to submit our SoP, LoRs, work experience from my previous employers and also a kind of entrepreneurial idea that we needed to pitch in which kind of tested us on our entrepreneurial mindset or how do we basically process a startup idea and so on. That was also one of the documentation that we needed to submit.

Placement :

The average package that a student gets on an average is around ?50,000 to 60,000 per year. But, it depends on experience and a lot of other things. The top companies that recruit are Bosch, Daimler, Siemens, etc.

Internship :

I applied for internships through company?s career portal. There is a career department in the university but, I never approached them.

Fees :

30000

Scholarship :

I got a scholarship.

Faculty :

My batch had around 30 students. We had professor for each subject. For 7-10 students, there is 1 professor. The professors are quite friendly, quite honest, open ended communications always, practical activities. They always make sure that their ideologies and answers and solutions from each background were taken into consideration during discussion.

Campus Life :

My university is one of the biggest universities in Germany. So, infrastructure wise, facility wise, also in terms of providing a startup environment and incubators and digital accelerator, it was good. I did a background research on how the university works and functions so, I could get a good understanding on whom to contact.

Hostel :

As a student we need to save a lot. So, I will go for a sharing room and it will cost around $500-$600. Maybe the utilities will be included or not.
