nishtha Review at RWTH Aachen University [RWTH], Aachen | Collegedunia

Life as a student of RWTH

RWTH Aachen is anonymous to some old IIT in India. It has an amazing infrastructure and is one of the biggest universities in Germany. Aachen itself has its city charm as it is a border city of 3 countries. As far as the data science program is concerned, the Godfather of process mining is the head of the PADS department here and it is a very rare and amazing opportunity to work in a field under the one who almost created it.

Course Curriculum :

Being a technical University, the research level here is pretty high. Even the education is tough.the syllabus is highly relevant to extensive research and a bit less to practical application, say a 60-40 ratio. Some courses are pretty easy to understand and fairly simple. But some of them are degree stoppers. especially the math here is awfully tough.

Exams :

GRE and a good and consistent academic record is required. My Scores: GRE Verbal 153, Quant 166, Writing 3.0; TOEFL 110/120;

Placement :

i have heard that the name of the university is enough to land you a job. but i myself havnt reached that place yet to confirm it.

Internship :

not yet

Events :

I DONT have much idea about this as i am unfortunate enough to attend it during covid times. but the infrastructure is one of the best in germany. and the campus is really huge, pretty and modern.

Fees :

it is free. just about 300 euros per sem of semester ticket which is for students union and for travel pass.

Scholarship :

nope

Faculty :

many of the faculty members here are the recipients of many greatest professorship awards. they take a lot of pain to make sure students understand the concept.

Hostel :

it is really tough to get a dorm in germany. there is systematic way to process it and the waiting is usually upto 8-9 months.
