Clemson review

7.3 /10

The campus is really pretty with the pond in the center. The atmosphere is safer and more personal than Columbia. The football programs are great. Tough school so a diploma from there will definitely be a good one. And the lake is a minute away.

Course Curriculum :

It's a tough one. It definitely takes a lot of time. The homework is minimum for my major but the study time is crucial to do well. Labs are also most of my schedule so if you don't like labs then you're in the wrong major.

Exams :

SAT-1250 ACT-19 were the only two exams I took and took them once. I had AP credits in Bio and stats.

Placement :

Job opportunities for working during school are kind of minimal. Working on campus gets like no pay and then working off campus is mainly in the food industry which isn't very great in a small town made up of Mostly college kids. The city is growing so new stuff will eventually show up, but still tough. But after graduation, the school is known for helping you get jobs.

Internship :

I haven't done an internship here but they do offer some. They have frugal inquiries that people can do with grad students or professors and then hey hold Career fairs that let you meet different places looking for student help.

Events :

Library bridge is where most of this happens. People sell stuff for fundraising or different clubs give things away during holiday seasons. Usually, orchestrate by clubs and there seems to be a club for anything so if you can think of a holiday or special day of recognition, some club js probably doing something for it.

Fees :

For a full-time student, fees are like $1,000 on top of tuition which really isn't that cheap either even if you are in-state. Meal plans are expensive, living on campus is expensive, and parking is outrageously expensive. Parking passes for the year are like $350. Stupid when we pay so much for stuff anyway.

Scholarship :

I had the life scholarship, but got a 2.99 GPA and lost it. I haven't had any other scholarships but have been taking some loans out through the school. The loan process is super easy. You fill out like three forms and then they just put it towards your account automatically. Financial aid office people are pretty rude though so I do my best to not need to go.

Examination Structure :

Exams are tough. Gotta know the details. Most of my exams have been based on the PowerPoints given by the teachers rather than the lecture. The PowerPoints aren't necessarily easily understood tho without the lectures. Taking the time to study matters for the exams tho. Usually, choose one concept and ask a lot of questions on it and then just a few scattered questions on the other stuff.

Faculty :

Appear to be as any faculty. A lot that I have seem to think highly of themselves. Appears that a lot of faculty are there for research and don't really care as much about the students. Hopefully, as I get more into my focused classes that will change though.

Hostel :

I live in an apartment off campus and about a 5-minute drive. Some places off campus you can still walk to get to class but mine requires a car or taking the bus. Most of the campus sites have a bus stop for cat transit that will drop you off somewhere on campus. I enjoy having my own place away from RAs and what not.
