NIT Jalandhar offers B.Tech degree under eleven different specializations for a duration of four years.

Admission to the B.Tech program at NIT, Jalandhar is done based on the performance of the candidates in JEE Main followed by JoSAA counselling. Minimum eligibility for B.Tech is candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects and one of the following as optional subject: Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science or Biology and minimum 60% marks.

The administrative block is simply superb which is in the shape of octagonal
College placement are very good in terms of avg package as well as package.
The scenery of the campus is quite beautiful with flowers and trees all around th campus
Campus life is quite good, In monsoon seasons the college is very good to look around
Placements are good as described and thisreason is hugeto like this college.

Dislike

You may have some bad experiences with the sports facilitities and paper work.
The food here, be it mess or canteens the food is the worst.
Mess food quality needs to get improved as the food sometimes is very bad
Faculty members as they used to be strict for no reason, bunking classes was a bit difficult for the students of mechanical dept.
Location of college is not good as it is on highway so transportation is quite difficult

Course Curriculum Overview:

Mechanical branch faculty are intelligent and supportive. All faculty are iit phd scholars. They use every means to provide knowledge. The mechanical branch in nit jalandhar is one of the highest demanded branches that compete with cse and ece. In my batch, we have 120 students out of which 20 are girls so the ratio is 1:5 which is impressive. In my college, we have 2 mi or exams every 20 marks main role to decide your grade and 50 marks for major exams and 10 marks for assessment per semester.

Life at NIT Jalandhar

Course Curriculum Overview:

Choosing Mechanical Engineering was out of interest since the topic of automobiles always fascinated me. I wanted to learn in-depth about their working and design, so opted for this course. Well for my department, teacher to student ratio is pretty good, almost 1 teacher to 6-7 students easily. All the faculty members of the Mechanical Dept are experienced and well qualified (strict also...) Their teaching methods are also conventional but some are transitioning to digital modes of teaching, which makes it all the more interactive. The semester has 2 minor exams and one major end-semester examination, each in a gap of almost one month. Passing the exams was easy. We used to study the night before the exams and scored more than 50% easily on those exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose mechanical engineering because I like machines and I like to work with robotic cars, drones, etc and all these things I can explore during my degree in mechanical engineering, around 24 faculty are there in our batch, and 120 students, Faculty are highly qualified either they are Ph.D. holders or they have completed their master's degree from IITs and NITs, the teaching method is average, they cover the syllabus in very hurry so we face some difficulty in better understanding of the subjects, teachers use PPT to explain the concept on smart board, If we discuss the exam frequency then 3 times exam occurs in a semester and these exams can be easily qualified If we only study before 2 or 3 days of the exams.
