One of my friends studied at JNTUH, here’s what I got to know from him. There are mainly two processes that need to be followed to apply for M.Tech in JNTUH through GATE.

  • Most importantly, you would require to clear your GATE with a very good score to have a better opportunity of being accepted at the university.
  • You may go through the details regarding GATE on the online websites or Wikipedia.
  • The next step is to clear the (AP/TS) PGECET with an exceptional score for your name to be present in the first merit list.

For a better insight, you may go through the details on their official website. You can also talk to the authorities to get better and intricate details. They will be able to guide you through the process.

Is branch changing possible in JNTUH?

HJ

Branch changing or sliding is not possible at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH). While applying for options in the counseling, you must do it very carefully. One of my cousins was a part of the institute, and he mentions that the atmosphere of the college is more important than the branch you are studying in.

My cousin once heard and learned that branch change was possible, with certain factors in hand, but has never practically seen one do it. It is best if you perform research on your own, and find out whether or not it is deemed possible at present.

Is JNTUH correction better or OU correction better?

NA
Naina Atmakur Posted On : September 2nd, 2021
MCA & Computer Programming, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2008)

Both JNTUH and OU are very good and reputed institutes, but there is no certain answer to which one is better in terms of correction.

  • They hire lecturers for correction from the affiliated colleges of the same university and they are paid per answer booklet.
  • They are given around 6-10 mins to evaluate each paper which you took around 2-3 hours to write down.
  • The correction will majorly depend on what the candidate has written in the answer sheet.
  • The answer script of JNTUH is generally very long compared to OU and this might be the reason why the evaluation is not very good at JNTUH.
  • It becomes difficult to properly check all the answers within 10 mins.
  • But now things have been improved a lot at JNTUH with the efforts in streamlining the things in the examination branch.

Hence, there is no such clear winner on which correction is better, but if you write down your answers properly with good handwriting, then you are very likely to score good marks.

How good is the MSIT program offered at JNTUH?

JP
Jiten Pradhan Posted On : April 5th, 2023
Studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2020)

If you are considering pursuing a Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program offered by JNTUH, you may want to explore some other options before making a decision. Here are some reasons why:

  • Startup Opportunities: Instead of investing your time and money in the MSIT program, you can explore startup opportunities. You can work on a business idea, start a company, or join a startup to gain hands-on experience and learn valuable skills.
  • Learning Technologies: You can also focus on learning technologies that are in high demand in the industry. There are various online courses and certification programs available that can help you acquire new skills and improve your knowledge in the field of information technology.
  • Reputation of the Program: The MSIT program offered by JNTUH may not have a good reputation in the industry. Employers may not value the degree as much as they value degrees from other reputed institutions. This may make it difficult for you to find a job or advance in your career.
  • Duration of the Program: The MSIT program is a two-year program, and you may not want to invest two years in a program that may not provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in your career.
  • Cost of the Program: Pursuing the MSIT program can be expensive, and you may not want to spend a lot of money on a program that may not be worth it in the end.

While it is important to have a degree to advance in your career, it is equally important to make sure that the degree is from a reputable institution and provides you with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in your field. Therefore, before investing your time and money in the MSIT program offered by JNTUH, you may want to explore other options and evaluate the program's reputation, duration, and cost.

How is JNTUH for an MBA?

KS
Kalyan Sinha Posted On : May 27th, 2022
MBA from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad

JNTUH Hyderabad isn’t a good option for an MBA. It doesn’t offer good placements and exposure to students. Go for this institute, if you only want an MBA degree. If you want good job profiles with cushy salary packages after graduation, you should look for other options.

JNTUH offers good academics. The institute has great faculties for Finance and Marketing.

What is the difference between JNTUH and JNTUH CEH?

RD
Raashi Dey Posted On : September 3rd, 2021
Studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2019)

Having to know some people studying in both these institutions, I can state some details about the colleges I got to know from them. There are some key differences between JNTUH and JNTUH CEH.

JNTUH stands for Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad whereas JNTUH CEH stands for Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad- College of Engineering.

  • JNTUH is an autonomous university and just like any other university, it follows its rules.
  • They also update their courses regularly as per the needs of the students.
  • JNTUH CEH is an autonomous college referred to as University College by most students.
  • JNTUH CEH is mainly for technical branches and studies related to it.
  • The University College is under the management and jurisdiction of JUNUH.
  • Jawaharlal Nehru University provides affiliation to various other Engineering and Pharmacy Institutions.

Also the JNTU- H is commonly used to differentiate between the main and the sister universities like JNTUK is for Kakinada, JNTUA is for Anantapur. It is differentiated by the post letter after the main institute’s name.

How many subjects can we drop in jntuh?

AK
Ayesha Khurana Posted On : September 4th, 2021
Studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad

In JNTUH you can drop a total of 8 credits according to the R13 regulation. But, you cannot risk dropping any Practical subjects.

Theoretical subjects in 1st year carry 6 credits while from 2nd to 4th year, they carry 4 credits. Basically, you can drop any two theoretical subjects from 2nd to 4th year as the credits sum up to 8 credits.

Otherwise, you can drop only one theoretical subject from 1st year as it is 6 credits only. The remaining 2 credits from 8 credits are of no use.

Moreover, you cannot drop technical seminars, mini projects, major projects, and comprehensive viva. Further, the JNTUH automatically drops the two lowest scored subjects.

I would advise you to study hard from the first year itself and don’t rely on anything else. Hard work always gets paid off.

The evaluation process at JNTUH is very strict. But there’s no need to worry, prepare a timetable for revision during exams time.

Here are some tips to prepare for the semester exams–

  • Keep the syllabus book handy and start preparing them topic-wise.
  • Don't spend a huge amount on tuition. It will be a waste of time.
  • Read the reference textbooks thoroughly and start learning.
  • Solve previous years’ question papers
  • Take the help of Youtube if you are having doubts about any of the topics. It will help you to understand the concepts to a great extent
  • Do not panic while writing the exam. Attempt all the questions
  • Maintain good handwriting in the answer sheets to leave a good impression
  • Elaborate the answers properly while attempting 10 mark questions

Don’t stress yourself. Take care of your health and fitness. Study well.

What are good and bad things about doing engineering in jntuh Hyderabad? Is it worth of doing undergraduation in JNTUH?

RK
Ritesh Kumar Posted On : September 2nd, 2021
Studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (2020)

JNTUH is a very popular and reputed college and this college offers various kinds of courses such as B.Tech, IIDP, Dual degree program, etc. One of my friends studying there said, there are a lot of good and bad things about the college. He said that these will probably improve.

Here are some of the good things about this college.

  • It is the top-ranked college in Telangana excluding IIT Hyderabad and BITS.
  • Their course curriculum is very good.
  • The placement opportunities available in this college are amazing. A record of 100% placements for CSE & ECE branches.
  • The placements for Mechanical, Civil, and EEE branches are much less, around 40%.
  • The faculty is talented and highly experienced.
  • There is a separate hostel for first-year students to avoid ragging. They also have a separate international hostel available for NRI students.
  • There are 2 libraries, the college, and the university library. A digital library is available equipped with high-speed internet.
  • There is also a sports complex including facilities for table tennis, badminton, basketball, and a gym.
  • There is no dress code, students can wear casuals.

Here are some of the bad things about JNTU Hyderabad:

  • The syllabus is updated regularly according to the industry standards, but there is no one to guide you properly.
  • Internships are only being offered to CSE and ECE students and the placements of other branches are poor.
  • Convocation is done in the college only for the toppers of each department which is quite unfair for the rest of the students.
  • The laboratories available inside the campus are not very good.

These are some of the good things about this college and if these problems are being resolved, then this college can be one of the best engineering colleges in our country.

How do we get good marks in JNTUH?

DB
Debolina Bhattacharjee Posted On : September 2nd, 2021
B.Tech in EEE from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2019)

Some of my friends studied at JNTUH, and according to them you can work hard and follow some steps that will make you score better marks easily. Let me share some I got to know from them.

  • You should form your answers to the given questions in a brief, well-devised, and structured manner.
  • It is suggested that you use both blue and black pens to highlight the important lines in your answer.
  • If the structured answers highlight the significant, scoring points related to the question, the examiner would be impressed and might end up giving extra points.
  • The faculty members are generous while correcting your papers and assigning marks even if you have written an average answer.
  • There is a thin chance that you end up with a single-digit score on your paper.
  • However, if that happens you would have to please the teaching assistant to help you out.
  • If you are able to persuade him/ her, you would be able to acquire passing marks.
  • Do not waste your money on revaluation or re-correction of your papers unless you are sure about the answers you have written in the exam.

Getting good marks in JNTUH is a real task as the paper checking system in the university is a little faulty and requires considerable attention. In the end, the only thing that would matter is not your percentage but the skills you have acquired in the 4 long years of your academics. Try maintaining a 75% or above percentile and work hard.
