Is JNTU-H better than NIT puducherry?
One of my friends studied in JNTU Hyderabad and she says that the college is very good when it comes to studies and placement.
It gives you great opportunities to build your career and thrive in it. The subject knowledge is crucial and is given great importance there. The curriculum is also very structured and helps students with the approach to study. Many MNCs participate in the placement drive. In the NIRF Ranking 2021, JNTU has ranked 62 along with other NITs. It will be unfair to compare two very different entities but you can choose based on your requirement.
What is it like to be a student at JNTUH?
At the very start of the journey at JNTUH students think that 4-5 years is a long time for a degree but once the studies start time flows by very fast. Some of my friends studied at JNTUH and here’s what they experienced.
- The academic curriculum lets the students select and opt for electives as per their choice which complements their core subjects.
- There are other departmental electives that are selected and allotted by the faculty based on available subjects.
- Most of the courses are taught by lecturers rather than professors.
- The professors here are well known and they also have good research experience.
- Students here at JNTUH get a lot of freedom when compared to students from other private universities.
- It is situated in Hyderabad, one of the most advanced cities in India.
- The campus has several good eateries around it and some within the campus as well.
- The campus is well equipped with high-speed internet.
- The students also have access to the computer lab 24*7.
- The campus is also equipped with a sports complex and a well-equipped gym.
- There are indoor sporting facilities available too.
Student politics has been seen declining every year. Alcohol and drug intake are strictly prohibited and serious actions are taken against those who don’t follow them.
Can a graduate from Muffakham Jah college, CBIT, JNTU and Osmania university compare these four universities briefly considering all the facts.
After researching about this online, I got to know some facts. Let me share them as they might give you a clear idea about it.
- Osmania and JNTU are universities offering postgraduate courses.
- Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET) is affiliated to Osmania University and CBIT is an autonomous college under Osmania University.
- If we consider placements, all of them are very good providing students with appropriate job opportunities.
- IT firms tend to visit more than core companies during placements.
- A disadvantage of MJCET is that it does not provide a hostel.
- JNTU, Osmania, and CBIT have proper hostel facilities.

In India, for graduation and further studies, students mostly prefer studying in a Government-funded college, as the fees are lesser than their private counterparts. Also top students secure better ranks and opt for them, making the student crowd very competitive. They also have better and more experienced faculty members.
Which university is good, Osmania or JNTU, for engineering in Hyderabad?
One of my friends studied at Osmania University. According to him, Osmania University really helped him in learning engineering from scratch. Here are some reasons why it is his first choice.
- Less number of colleges: Osmania, unlike other universities, does not give affiliation to any random college, thus maintaining a standard. JNTU has hundreds of colleges under its wing, due to which the newly established ones lack quality.
- Fair Evaluation: Due to lesser colleges there are lesser students, which gives Osmania the advantage of evaluating exam papers precisely. Also if they are found incorrect the cost of reevaluation is less, INR 300. Whereas Reevaluation at JNTU costs INR 1000. JNTU was also infamous for its faulty correction.
- Projects: JNTU has students submit a mini project in 4-1 and a major project in 4-2. Whereas Osmania does not put much pressure on the students, as they have to pitch the idea of the project in 4-1 and submit it in 4-2.
It is widely known among every student and professionals that Osmania’s degree has more value than JNTU.
Why are the state universities like JNTU, Osmania and Andhra University underrated?
State Universities like JNTU, Osmania, and Andhra University are underrated for various reasons.
- Classes aren’t held regularly.
- Lack of resources and facilities.
- Lack of competitive environment. Students usually attend class for attendance.
- Lack of research opportunities. The reason behind it is not just the lack of proper facilities but lack of vigour in students as well.
- Poor placements.
Mostly these are the reasons.
Is chemical engineering at jntuh is good?
Yes, chemical engineering at JNTU is good. If you are interested in chemical engineering, then it's the best place to pursue it.
Infrastructure: The Chemical Engineering branch started at the institute only a few years ago. It does not even have a specific departmental block. It shares the block of the Metallurgical department. CE also doesn't have their own labs. Students go to other departments to do their lab work.
Placements: The first batch of Chemical Engineering graduated in 2018 and it had good core placements. Companies like Vedanta, ITC recruit Chemical Engineering students. In recent years the average CTC offered at the institute is 9 LPA.
I will advise you to only opt for Chemical Engineering if you are interested. If a student needs only the tag and brand of JNTU then choosing a chemical branch will not be a good idea.
On what basis does JNTUH give medals to the JNTUH-affiliated B.Tech colleges?
The medals are awarded to the students purely on the basis of the percentage of your score in your two or four years of coursework be it in B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, etc.
You will receive a gold medal if your score is the highest of all the students in the institute. If your percentage of marks is below 70% you will get the first-class certificate and if your percentage is 70% or higher then you will get a distinction or a graded certificate.
Which is better for good placements, NIT Warangal for Civil or JNTUH for CSE?
You can go for NIT Warangal for civil. But, if you prefer CSE then go for JNTUH, Hyderabad. With your rank, you can easily get into NIT Warangal.
Your future is safe in both the colleges as they provide the best exposure. But, if you fetch NIT Warangal via your JEE Main AIR of JOSAA counseling, you will definitely get branches like ECE, EEE at any of the top 7 NIT. And, that would be a better option.
Do not worry much and simply go for the JOSAA counseling. If TS EAMCET counseling is limiting then secure your seat in the choice of branch of yours at JNTUH. Instead of submitting the original certificate of class 12, you can submit an undertaking certificate.
Which is a better option, IIIT Allahabad, JNTUH, or JNTUK?
JNTUH (Hyderabad) and JNTUK (Kakinada) are the local JNTUs that offers seats based on rank in TS Eamcet and AP Eamcet respectively while IIIT Allahabad is a Central Government Funded College that allocates seats based on rank achieved by the student in JEE Main.
- Nevertheless, JNTUH has got a good reputation among all the colleges present in Hyderabad.
- It is located in the heart of the city with all facilities available in a hand’s reach.
- IIIT Allahabad has a good college environment but lacks only in location factor.
- It is a better college when you compare college placement statistics.
- Any branch in IIITA is better when compared to JNTU. CSE in JNTUH is known for its faculty.

While IIITA leads in every aspect when compared to JNTUK. So IIIT Allahabad is the best option when compared to both of the JNTU’s.
What is better:JNTUH Mech or GRIET CSE?
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad is ranked 45th in India and 3rd in Hyderabad by NIRF. Whereas, Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad is ranked 179th in India and 10th in Hyderabad by NIRF.
Admission:
JNTUH- It offers a BTech program for Mechanical Engineering.
- Students with 10+2 with a combination of PCM are eligible for admission to the course.
- It accepts TS-EAMCET exam scores for admission.
The total course fee for BTech Mechanical is INR 50,000.
GRIET- The institute offers a BTech program in CSE.
- The required eligibility is 10+2 from a recognized board.
- The admission is based on EAMCET scores.
The course fee for 4 years is 4.88 lakhs.
Infrastructure:
- JNTUH has well-equipped computer labs to appease the needs of 465 students working simultaneously. A 24/7wifi facility is available on campus. The facilities offered also includes fully furnished classrooms with LCD projectors & computers.
- GRIET has a decent infrastructure and offers facilities such as classrooms with LCD and computers. A huge library is also available to cater to the needs of the students.
Placements:
GRIET-
- The median salary offered to the CSE students is 3.8 LPA.
- Companies like Amazon, TCS, Microsoft, Capgemini recruits students in the placement drive.
JNTUH- The placement rate for the institute is 93%.
- The maximum and minimum salary package offered to the students are 36 LPA and 3.36 LPA.
- Some of the major recruiters at the institute are Amazon, Accenture, Mahindra, TCS, etc.
The course curriculum of both the colleges is designed as per the industrial needs to make the students updated with industry trends.
It is difficult to compare two institutes for different branches. You should choose the branch you are interested in and the college according to that.
