Which is the best option for the GATE CSE branch in Bangalore: Ace Academy, Gate Forum, Gate Academy, or Ravindra Babu Ravula's GATE videos?

SR
Singdha Roy Posted On : December 4th, 2020
B.Tech CSE from IIT Bhubaneswar

For GATE preparation in Bangalore, given the choice between Ace Academy, GATE Forum, Ravindra Babu Ravula’s GATE videos, and Gate Academy and Ravindra Babu Ravula’s videos will be the best option.

Ravindra Babu Ravula’s GATE videos:

  • High-quality video lectures that explain concepts in a lucid manner. He teaches to make your own logic instead of memorizing technical concepts without understanding.

  • It has lower fees compared to other options.

  • You can see his videos at any time according to your convenience.

  • It is the perfect solution for working professionals who are thinking of taking the GATE.

If you are comfortable studying alone in your own home, then subscribing to Ravindra Babu Ravula’s GATE videos is a no-brainer. From the above points, the order of preference would be Ravindra Babu Ravula’s GATE videos>>> Ace academy>>Gate forum>Gate Academy.

Which is the best option, Mathematics and Computing at IIT Guwahati, CSE at IIIT Hyderabad, or CSE at BITS Pilani?

A
Admin Posted On : May 14th, 2024
  • According to me, BITS Pilani is the best option for those who want to pursue CSE. The curriculum has been designed in a way that will help the students to get thorough knowledge of the domain. The curriculum has an equal focus on theoretical and practical subjects.
  • However, you need to be prepared to learn many courses per semester. You will be truly busy during the four years of this course with too many assignments, lab tests, quizzes, etc.
  • You will need adequate practice and hard work to ace the tests. However, at BITS Pilani we believe in smart work instead of hard work.
  • The total fee for this 4-year CSE course is around INR 22 lakhs including the hostel fees. The median salary for 2023 stood at INR 18.20 LPA. The top recruiters include Adobe, Accenture, Apple, Cipla, Bajaj Finserv, Cognizant and many more.

Which is the better engineering college: WBJEE or COMEDK?

SS
Saptak Sinha Posted On : September 9th, 2021
B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Calcutta in 2020

COMEDK will be a better option. There are only 2-3 colleges under WBJEE that are considered good if your rank is between 1 to 3000.

Almost all of the institutes under COMEDK are above average. They can even surpass Jadavpur University, for that matter. The institutes under WBJEE and COMEDK are as follows:

Institutes under WBJEE Institutes under COMEDK
Jadavpur University RV College of Engineering
University of Calcutta BMS College of Engineering
IEM Kolkata M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology
Kalyani Government Engineering College Bangalore Institute of Technology
Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering

Sadly, there are no government colleges under COMEDK. Most of the best institutes are either under WBJEE or the University of Calcutta.

Where is branch upgradation from EE to CS easier, IIT Mandi or IIT Jodhpur?

SN
Sagar Namdev Posted On : May 24th, 2023

Branch change from EE to CSE is easiest at IIT Jodhpur. Here, students who have scored a 9+ CGPA can change their branch as there are no additional criteria. If you are talking about an easier branch change from EE to CSE, it would definitely be IIT Jodhpur, as here there is a rule that if you score a CGPA of 9+ then you can change your branch to any branch of your choice.

When my friend was a student at IIT Mandi a few years ago, she told me that 10 students from the EE branch changed their branch to CSE and a total of about 18 students from other branches changed their branch to CSE, and about 10 students from different branches to EE. Surprisingly enough, the last student to change his branch to CSE had a CGPA of 8.67.

Thus, branch upgradation is easier at IIT Jodhpur than at IIT Mandi.

How many students repeat fail in IIM Calcutta every year?

SN
Samantha Nirmalya Posted On : December 1st, 2022
studied at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (2018)

It can range from 5 to 15 in a batch of 460, depending on one's grades. In the first year, grades are averaged across 18-20 subjects. As a result, there are numerous opportunities to balance one's performance and maintain the minimum required CGPA. In comparison to other IIMs, an average guy can easily handle academic pressure at C. Despite the fact that you can see that over 95% of the batch has left. However, for some, it is too much to bear. Because it is a CGPA system, your grades are relative. Consequently, you must take care to avoid becoming one of the bottom 2-3%.

There is a system in place for extra classes taught by seniors for difficult subjects, but it all comes down to your level of preparation and how much effort you are willing to put in.

The refund process at AKTU Lucknow starts after the procedure of admissions has been completed. So you need to check the last date of admission of your respective course from the official website.

You may also call the help desk of UPSEE at 1800 180 0161(Toll Free).

If your transaction is broken due to any reason, you won’t be able to proceed with choice filling. However, the amount debited against the failed transactions, shall be automatically refunded by the Bank after Reconciliation to your account.

Students should try to use debit/credit card mode of payments to allow easy refunds.

What is the average number of times most IIM (A,B, C, Lucknow, Kozhikode) students have taken their CAT exam before getting selected?

KM
Kathakali Mishra Posted On : April 6th, 2023
Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad

CAT exam is a highly competitive exam that is taken by thousands of students every year, and it is widely known that only a small percentage of students are able to crack it and secure a seat in the IIMs.

Based on conversations with current and former IIM students, it is believed that most students who get selected into the IIMs have taken the CAT exam multiple times. Some students take the exam 2-3 times, while others take it 4-5 times or more before they are able to secure a high enough percentile to get selected.

It's important to note that the CAT exam is just one part of the selection process for the IIMs, and candidates are also evaluated based on their academic performance, work experience, extracurricular activities, and performance in the group discussion and personal interview rounds. Therefore, even if a candidate has taken the CAT exam multiple times, they still need to perform well in the other parts of the selection process to secure a seat in the IIMs.

While there is no fixed number of attempts that most IIM students take before getting selected, it is clear that perseverance, hard work, and dedication are key traits that are required to succeed in the highly competitive world of management education in India.

Does a year gap post 4 years of work experience affect the chances to get into ISB Hyderabad drastically?

AS
Anubhuti Shekhar Posted On : February 15th, 2023
Student, ISB PGP Class of 2017

The Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad evaluates each application based on merit, rather than adhering to a strict minimum or maximum criteria for years of work experience. Freshers may apply through the Young Leaders Program (YLP) or the early admission option. A break in one's career, as long as it can be justified, is acceptable. The quality of work experience, rather than the number of years, is what counts.

Instead of worrying about any career gaps, focus on highlighting the relevant aspects of your profile. If the admissions team finds your application compelling, they may inquire about career gaps, but only after they have been initially impressed with your application.
