Which is better IIIT Kota or IIIT Bhubaneswar or IIIT Pune or IIIT Una, I have a rank of 20,000?
IIIT Kota, IIIT Una, and IIIT Pune are funded through public-private partnerships and only IIIT Bhubaneswar is a state-funded institute with its own campus. As for rankings, IIIT Pune has been ranked 15th amongst the "Top Engineering Colleges of India" by Outlook. Here are some noteworthy points-
- If you have a rank under 20,000 then IIIT Pune will not be the best option because it has begun functioning quite recently like IIIT Una and IIIT Kota. The first batch of IIIT Una graduated in 2018 whereas that of IIIT Kota graduated in 2017.
- Students at IIIT Una are being mentored by NIT Hamirpur and IIIT Kota is facilitating education through MNIT Jaipur.
- IIIT Kota has a better placement facility, it was 90% in 2020 and it will see a speedy improvement in the upcoming years. The highest package offered was 26 LPA.

What advice would you give to a first-year engineering student of information technology at the Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology?
One of my friends is from Maharaja Surajmal. According to him, there are many reviews, so he wanted to share his authentic experience. The points listed below are some advice you may find important -
- Socializing inside the campus is good. Making friends generates good peer-to-peer learning and habits.
- MSIT has an excellent senior junior bonding. Interacting with seniors helps a lot in every aspect.
- Lectures are interactive. It is mandatory to have 75% attendance. But, there are students with very little attendance but good internal and end semester results.
- Attending practical classes is necessary.
- A good relationship should be maintained with all lab assistants. Some of them are very senior attendants, and even respected by professors.
- The lab assistants are the only people to help students out during external exams.
- The college life in MSIT is quite good, but students should not expect a lot from the administration about facilities and extra-curricular activities.
- It is a fact that the institute is just an affiliated college of IP University, and not as good as DTU or NSIT.
Therefore, these are some of the on-ground facts of MSIT that will help students make their college life better on the campus.
What is the scope of metallurgical and materials engineering at IIT Roorkee?
The scope of Metallurgical and Materials engineering or that of any engineering depends largely on where your inclinations lie and how much you are willing to work for it. There are several rare cases wherein a student of Biotechnology, the least preferred branch of engineering, is offered to a good company with a very high package.
IIT Roorkee and in fact, most IITs have low core opportunities but many non-core opportunities. That being said, it’s advisable for an IITian to learn to code for future security. IIT Roorkee offers the perfect culture to learn to code.
It’s a well-known fact that Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, was also a BTech in metallurgy from IIT KGP. So I would like to conclude by saying that even if there are no opportunities at your door, create one!
Should I choose Sharda University for a BTech in CSE? I belong to a lower middle class family & have only option through education loan.
Well, when it comes to borrowing a loan in a middle-class family most parents try to avoid it. I too belong to a middle-class family and familiar with all situations that occur in every middle-class family. If you get an average IPU college like NIEC or any such, you should go with them. It will be for you.
It doesn’t really mean that Sharda is a bad college. Go for Sharda only if it is the only option for you. You can go for GB Pant if you are ready to handle the strict discipline and rules. It is quite easy to get admission to Sharda and get good marks but, one thing you don’t like about Sharda is the management.
If you are doing B. Tech for the sake of doing something/ degree, you can get into Sharda. But, if you really want to study and go into study stuff deeply you should try GB Pant, NIET, or any other IPU college.
Which should I choose for a BTech in CSE, IT, ECE, or EEE - BIT Sindri or KIIT?
If you are trying to decide between BIT Sindri and KIIT for pursuing CSE or IT, here are a few things to consider before making your final decision:
- Faculty: Both colleges have average faculty members, which means that your overall learning experience will depend on your own interest and effort in learning coding and other concepts related to computer science.
- Exposure and Facilities: KIIT offers better exposure to modern facilities and resources in terms of labs, while BIT Sindri may lack in this aspect. However, you can still get decent exposure at BIT Sindri if you are proactive in seeking out opportunities for learning.
- Placements: In terms of placements, both colleges offer opportunities to get placed in software companies such as TCS, Wipro, Accenture, and IBM. However, KIIT may have a slight edge in this aspect, as you can sit for multiple placement sessions and decide which company to join.
- Fees: The major difference between BIT Sindri and KIIT is the fees. While BIT Sindri charges a relatively low fee of 90,000 for four years, KIIT charges significantly more (12 to 15 times more).

What is the placement scenario at IIT Guwahati B.Tech Mechanical?
Despite being comparatively new, IIT Guwahati has witnessed a hike in placement over the past five years. IIT Guwahati's average salary for the Mechanical Engineering department has increased from 15 LPA in 2018 to 19 LPA in 2022.
The average CTC for BTech students of BTech in Mechanical Engineering in the previous four years is 17 LPA and this year’s average CTC is 19 LPA. The highest package for BTech students in Mechanical Engineering is above 39 LPA, and this year’s highest package is 45 LPA.

How is the placement of civil engineering at MSU Baroda?
The answer is below average. The placements are not ideal, but this depends on several factors.
The primary thing is you should possess first class (60%) in aggregate (or 60% in each semester for 1-2 companies like tata motors.). As is well known, MSU's results are not as good as those of other universities, with only 50-60% of students receiving first-class honors (60% or higher). In other universities, you can easily get 80-85%.
Everyone says that MSU attracts a large number of MNC companies for recruitment. However, there are only 3-4 nice MNCs that offer nice packages and recruit only 3-5 students. They don't always hire any of the students. The maximum package is approximately 5-5.5 LPA. On average, you can get a package of 3-4 LPA. Then there are some other companies that offer you between 2.5 and 3.5 LPA. There are 2-3 non-core companies that recruit with average packages ranging from 2.5 to 4 LPA. Score high and strive to remain in the top 15-20. Your chances of being placed would improve.

Does NIT Surathkal have a good placement record for civil engineers?
There is very little demand for civil engineers here in the Indian markets. Unfortunately, not many skilled civil engineers are output from any Indian engineering college.
- The curriculum of all engineering colleges hasn’t been updated for over a decade and it is not at all in sync with the current needs and requirements of the civil industry.
- Most of the civil engineers who pass out from the reputed colleges across India are either offered computer programming jobs with a package of 5-10 LPA on an average or become managers in the industry.
- The reality of civil engineering in India is quite a sad sight to look at and the students are paying with their twisted career choices for it.
There is no doubt to the fact that NIT Surathkal is an impressive institute with reputed faculty guiding the students, with an exception for the branch of civil engineering. Either the students are not able to develop sufficient interest in the same or the curriculum is not such that invokes interest or keeps them motivated enough. Moreover, it is also not in accordance with the industrial standards and needs.
Which college should I take for mechanical engineering? I am confused among PEC Chandigarh, NIT Kurukshetra, and NIT Jalandhar.
NIT Kurukshetra or PEC Chandigarh are the best options for you. You can certainly cross NIT Jalandhar off your list.
The practical labs at NITJ are not well-equipped, and the majority of the equipment is broken. The faculty, on the other hand, is excellent. You should not make NITJ your top priority.
