IIT Delhi is one of the top Engineering colleges in India. They have the finest faculty, and IITD alumni have the highest number of unicorns in India. With an IIT tag, you can easily grab a job in top MNCs. Being an IITian opens great opportunities for you to pursue your higher studies at US/European Universities.
IIT Delhi Placements are top-notch. Even its Mechanical branch records an average salary close to 12 LPA. Several Finance, IT, and non-IT MNCs are open for every branch during placement season at IIT Delhi. So, you can switch to an IT career later on. For UPSC/GATE aspirants, Delhi is the ideal location.
CSE is a more in-demand branch at present. However, IIT Delhi offers much more opportunities to its students than NIT Surathkal. Therefore, I would suggest you choose ME at IITD rather than CSE at NIT Surathkal.

Which is better for Engineering Phy- IIT Guwahati or IIT Roorkee?
When considering Engineering Physics, the choice of the institute is a secondary factor while your inclination towards Physics is the primary concern. The course is not for those who take it casually without genuine interest in it.
I think IIT Guwahati is a better institute for EP. Those who have a branch change of mind should take the batch strength into consideration as only 10% of the batch is allowed to opt out of EP.
Thus, unless you're certain of EP, I would recommend you go for BITS or top NITs. This will help you if you are looking for a core course.
Which is a better course, IIIT Hyderabad for an ECE or IIT Madras metallurgical?
Both IIT Hyderabad and IIT Madras are premier academic institutions in India. IIT Hyderabad ECE and IIT Madras Metallurgical Department both offer well-structured academic courses for students. The ECE at IIT Hyderabad focuses on communication systems, electronics, signal processing, and more, while Metallurgical Engineering at IIT Madras focuses on the study of metal, its properties, applications, and processing.
Choosing IIT Madras is a better option as it is one of the top-ranking institutions in India. IIT Madras Metallurgical Engineering is a 4-year course. What is better, NIT Nagpur (chemical), NIT Patna(IT), NIT Raipur (electrical), or NIT Bhopal (chemical)?
To know what’s better for you, you just need to evaluate your preferences first. However, in this case, you have two major criteria to consider before choosing one - Desired Branch or Desired Institute.
There can be two scenarios based on the above criteria:
- In the first scenario, you got into a good institute but didn’t manage to get the branch you wanted. Here, you might be happy in the beginning but later when the subjects get deeper, you may feel lost. It happened with my friend too. He was a CS enthusiast but because of few decimals in his JEE Main score, he somehow managed to get Electrical in NIT Nagpur.
- The second scenario is much less disappointing. You may not get a college of your choice but if you get into your favorite branch then you’ll enjoy it sooner or later.
Now considering if you are comfortable with any branch then check the following factors:
- Rank-wise NIT Raipur and NIT Patna are within the top 15-20 NITs whereas NIT Bhopal and Nagpur are within the top 7. Chemical in VNIT Nagpur and Bhopal are also in the top 10.
- Choose NIT Raipur for core branches like Electrical.
- CSE/IT are sister branches with almost 80–90% similar curriculum and placement too. If you are a coding freak or want to learn then go for NIT Patna.
- If a high package is your goal then the IT branch would be best.
As per this, none of them is better. It totally depends on what is your pool of interest and your future plans regarding it. At the end of the day, your success will be determined by skills and hard work, not just the college.
