I was in the same position as you last year. I too had the same options for my Bachelor and I chose IIT Roorkee due to the following reasons:-

- Old IITs have better infrastructure and college life as compared to new IITs.
Which is best: IT at MNNIT, Allahabad; IT at IIIT, Allahabad; CSE at BIT, Mesra; or CSE at MANIT, Bhopal?
My brother is currently studying IT at IIIT Allahabad and according to his first-hand experience and your interest in IT, the order of preference for you should be:
IIITA>MNNIT>BITM>MANIT
It is because if you are genuinely interested in IT then IIIT Allahabad is the best option you can choose because of the following key points:
- The campus is well equipped in terms of infrastructure and facilities and the coding culture is quite good there. Also, it is an institute specifically made for IT, so the infrastructure is planned according to it.
- The course structure at IIIT Allahabad is also strikingly different from what you'll find at any other engineering college in India. It focuses a lot on programming and electronics-related subjects, right from the first year itself.
In NITs, you need to study a lot of subjects not at all related to your branch or course!
However, MNNIT or BIT Mesra may prove to be better options in case you realize that computers are not your cup of tea and decide to go into the non-tech sector. You will have a lot of diverse companies visiting these campuses, while in IIIT Allahabad you’ll see only IT companies coming to recruit.
Also, JEE Main rank of all the options you mentioned will differ from each other. So your rank also plays a major role in selection.
Can I change a B.Arch branch to any B.Tech branch in IIT Kharagpur?
Many people go for a certain branch with much surety bog branch change but don’t consider the consequences. It’s highly possible that you may not be able to change your branch and end up with a branch that you did not want to pursue in the first place. These people choose EE at IIT Bombay or Kharagpur when they could have easily taken IIT Hyderabad CSE.
One should not solely rely on branch change and think of the consequences of not being able to change the branch. Will you be able to survive in the branch you chose initially?
I don’t have much idea about IIT KGP’s branch change but I feel it is somewhat similar to IIT Roorkee which I do have an idea about. A Bachelor of Architecture course cannot change their branch to BTech if that’s what you are asking since both are extremely different streams. This concept of branch change misguides many so should be opted for when necessary. I have even heard of changes from BS to BTech.
What should we take, IIT Delhi Electrical Engineering (Power and Automation) or IIT BHU CS?
Choosing IIT Delhi Electrical Engineering (Power and Automation) is better than choosing IIT BHU CS as:-
- IIT Delhi is one of the oldest IITs in the nation, it has developed a wonderful reputation for offering well well-structured academic curriculum and research opportunities for the students.

How much marks should I score in WBJEE 2021 to get admission in JADAVPUR University OR KALYANI University in computer science or electrical branch?
According to the cutoff trends of the last few years, you will need to score above 130 out of 200 in WBJEE, in order to get into branches like IT, Electrical, Electronics at Jadavpur University. A score of around 105 should get you branches like Civil, Production, or Chemical Engineering at JU.
In order to get CSE at Kalyani University, your rank should be within 2000 and you will need a score above 92.

Is IIIT Hyderabad CSE as good as IIT Kharagpur CSE?
CSE department of both IIT Kharagpur and IIT Hyderabad is top notch offering the best coursework and coding culture.
But here’s the thing about CSE, it consists only of coding. In case you later find out that you are not really interested in it, joining IIT Hyderabad might prove to be a wrong decision. On the other hand, IIT KGP has many branches to choose from and also has noncore companies for Finance companies visiting the campus. About 7-8 years ago, all or most of the current faculty of the Heritage Institute of Technology used to be part of the Haldia institute of technology. So there is no big difference in the degrees offered by these two institutes. You only get different degree certificates from HIT and MAKAUT.
