I chose it because it wasn't too far away from my home town. I also liked that it was a fairly small college with big opportunities. Kearney is a great community because it's safe and clean. I also chose UNK because they have a really good program for nursing. I received a lot of scholarships, so going to UNK basically is free for me. I love the campus and feel so connected.
Course Curriculum :
I think the course curriculum is well suited to my degree. The required classes all relate to my field of study and provide a great set up for my path to nursing school. In addition, it isn't too hard and stressful which I like a lot. I also like that it?s pretty flexible and there's a wide range of classes to choose from.
Exams :
I took the ACT and had test preparation for it. I took it five times. The first time I took it was the summer after my sophomore year. The last time was the middle of my senior year.
Placement :
The job opportunities are fantastic. People want to hire graduates from the University of Nebraska at Kearney because they know they will get quality workers. UNK is very helpful in helping it?s students find a job when they graduate.
Internship :
Yes, certain degree programs require internships. A lot of them sound very successful and interesting. From what I have heard, the college does an excellent job of helping you find an internship for your degree program. My program doesn't require an internship so I do not know much about them.
Events :
The University of Nebraska at Kearney takes great pride and celebrates homecoming week. The college puts on many fun student events celebrating this week. The whole school rallies behind the sports teams. UNK's numerous organizations also celebrate many events. The various multicultural groups always have a different event to celebrate.
Fees :
The structure of the feed was set up on an online website. It listed them all out clearly and was easy to pay. Charges include tuition, room and board, lab fees, gym fees, library fees, parking fees, and book fees.
Scholarship :
Yes, I received plenty of scholarships for my schooling. Many of them were local. However, one of them was statewide and paid half tuition. I also received a good about of financial aid making it less stressful for me.
Examination Structure :
The exam structure is very simplistic and effective. From my experience, all of my class exam experiences have gone very good. The room set up is quiet and calming. The process for the exam is efficient.
Faculty :
The faculty at the University of Nebraska at Kearney is amazing. They really try to cater to the student's needs and find creative ways to teach materials. All of my professors so far have genuinely cared for the well being of the students and have a vast knowledge of the subject they are teaching.
Hostel :
My residence Hall is very traditional. My room was actually fairly big and I shared a bathroom with several other girls on my floor. The residence Hall was kept neat by the custodians. I liked not having to worry about cleaning a bathroom and I liked being so close to campus. I did not like the heating and cooling system because you could never get the perfect temperature.
