Knowing UNK better.

PT
9.7 /10

Firstly, I transferred to this because I had my friends there and also had the major I was wanting to study. I saw that I had a chance to build my resume and make myself a better person in this college which is the reason I chose this one. Besides, all of these reasons the whole college community and faculty members are very helpful and want to see you moving forward. The international student department here is a gem, they have to help me in every single step since I came to UNK. Most importantly, I got attracted to this college due to its opportunities for on-campus jobs and involvement in various organizations for students of any kind.

Exams :

I was very interested in technology while I was growing and was always curious about how they work. While I completed my high school my interest in cyberspace and telecommunications kept growing which is the main reason I chose to be in the Information technology field. There is no any special eligibility to participate in the program. You're going to be studying numbers of programming classes which will be tough. I got 7 in IELTS and 1180 in SATs which didn't really matter to get into the program.

Placement :

There is a fair held on the college twice a year with the participation of almost all the companies around Nebraska. The students in college dress up professionally and visit the stalls in the fair and choose the company they want to be in, submit their resume and apply for the positions and also know more about the company. The pay rate depends according to the companies and there is a high chance of getting an internship if you? re qualified enough.

Internship :

Yes, you get a lot of on-campus working opportunities. All you gotta do is grab a chance, you can get all kinds of jobs you want according to your major a preference. There is a fair twice a year with numbers of companies around Nebraska which will give you chance to explore the internship opportunities. Through the entire process of resume making and getting a job college if really helpful and have a separate department for this kind of help.

Fees :

The international students get an international student scholarship which increases each year by about 500 dollars of you keep maintaining your GPA to 3 each semester. Besides that, we get a chance to apply for other outer scholarships according to our majors. Also each year continuing student scholarship is awarded to a lot of students. Sometimes you also get a scholarship from your workplace. The primary thing to do to get a scholarship is to maintain your GPA to 3.0 or more.

Faculty :

Although there are limited options for professors in this college, it is broadening every day and gives a lot of chances to build a student professionally. There are a lot of departments and helpful people who will help you reach your goal.

Hostel :

Some international students choose to stay on campus, which is a little expensive. But looking for roommates and living off-campus is cheaper and totally possible. You will get a lot of off-campus residence apartments which is within walking distance to campus. The international student association will be very helpful in any kind of concern you will have.
