Course Curriculum Overview:

I have a passionate coder since 9th standard so B.Tech was the obvious choice for me. Another reason was that I always topped in PCM in school without taking any stress so I thought Engineering will be the perfect fit. IIT was my dream since 10th standard because my mother's bestfriends son got admitted in IIT Kanpur Faculty to student ratio balanced. A single subject is divided between 3 faculty members alongwith Teaching assistants Maximum faculty members are alumni of IITs themselves and have pursued Post Doc from foreign universities in USA, UK, Germany. Faculty is very learned and have immense knowldege surpassing even their domain. Teaching style differs from professor to professor but most of them are young so they understand and teach according to students. Mid sems and End sems are conducted with 3 quizzed before mid and end sems. Reading PPTs and notes of the professor alongwith previous year question papereven just 3 days before exam are sufficient to get a good grade.

Ques. Should I study CSE at BITS Pilani or CSE at IIT BHU?

● Top Answer By Aditi Banerjee on 24 Mar 23

When deciding between IIT BHU and BITS Pilani, it's important to consider both colleges from different perspectives. Both institutions have their own strengths, and making a decision between the two can be challenging. Here are some important things to consider about each institution: IIT BHU : It is considered one of the top IITs after the top five IITs in India. It has a vast infrastructure and lab facilities because of its affiliation with Banaras Hindu University (BHU). It has a long history of excellence in education and has been around for longer than some of the other IITs. It has some of the best faculties among all the IITs. Most importantly, getting an IIT tag from IIT BHU can help you in many ways throughout your life, such as impressing people and carrying it to foreign colleges and companies. BITS Pilani : When it comes to placement and package, BITS Pilani is considered superior to IIT BHU. Its placements are often higher than even the top IITs. The hostel facilities available at BITS Pilani are unmatched by any IIT. Even recruiters do not make a distinction between IITs and BITS Pilani when it comes to reputation.  Here are some more reasons why IIT BHU could be the right choice for you: IIT BHU is part of the prestigious IIT league, which is considered the most prestigious group of engineering institutions in India. Don't fall into the trap of people who might say that the IIT tag won't matter or that IITs are fake or the worst. The IIT tag can help you in many ways you might not have even thought of. IIT BHU has a far better placement than BITS Pilani. Being part of the IIT league means that you can explore yourself with other IITs by participating in inter-IIT tech, sports meets or other inter-IIT meets. IIT has more brand value than BITS Pilani. IITs charge fewer fees than BITS Pilani. IITs have bigger and better alumni bases than BITS Pilani. IITs are well-known and have a more international reputation than BITS Pilani. Ultimately, the choice between IIT BHU and BITS Pilani will depend on your individual needs and goals. It is important to weigh the pros and cons of each institution and consider your future aspirations when making your decision....Read more

Ques. Which is better 5 year CSE at IIT Kharagpur or 4 year CSE at IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee or IIT BHU?

● Top Answer By Harish Kumar on 28 Mar 23

It is difficult to say which program is better as it is more of a matter of personal interest than program worth. However, it is a well-established fact that IITs are highly respected and provide an excellent education in the field of computer science and engineering (CSE). Both the CSE programs; the 5-year program at IIT Kharagpur and the 4-year program at IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee, and IIT BHU are equally good academically. If it’s placements you are concerned about, IIT BHU will satisfy all your expectations as it has the best companies, amazing coding culture, and an elaborate alumni network. The highest package for 2022-2023 placements was reported to be INR 1.2 CPA with top companies like Microsoft Google, and Facebook visiting the campus to hire for their Seattle/California office. Most reputed companies in India pay a visit to IIT BHU and sometimes offer more than one offer to each student. Some students even have PPOs way before the placement season begins. If placements are your concern you can rest assured as the CSE branch at IIT BHU offers the best packages in top companies. Some top recruiters include Rakuten Uber Zeta Microsoft SWE Oracle Additionally, it would be important to consider your personal interests, career goals, and other factors when making this decision....Read more

Ques. Should I choose NIT Calicut CSE or IIT BHU chemical Engineering?

● Top Answer By Sumit Barua on 27 Aug 21

If you are interested in coding and aim to work in good corporate firms, then it is suggested that you go for CSE at NIT Calicut. But if you want an IIT tag, you can opt for IIT BHU. But this won't matter much afterward. So, if you are focused on doing research then Chemical Engineering at IIT BHU will be a good option. You can also learn coding on the sidelines, which might be beneficial if you sit for placements. Parametres CSE at NIT Calicut Chemical Engineering at IIT BHU Tuition Fee INR 16,000 INR 6.7 LPA Placement Percentage 73.5% 71% Average Package INR 11.57 LPA INR 16.27 LPA The choice of studying in a college pursuing a particular subject is entirely up to you. Check where your strengths and weaknesses lie and then choose accordingly. Both institutes are good in their own way. But it is your hard work and dedication that will prove if CSE or Chemical will be good for you. ...Read more

Ques. Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering: What cgpa is required to get the dream companies from iit BHU?

● Top Answer By Ritik Ghose on 08 Apr 22

As per the IIT BHU placement trends, big companies like Microsoft and Facebook don’t care much about CGPA. These companies select students based on their coding skills. They have a crisp and straightforward procedure for interviews. If you can pass the coding tests and answer the questions, you will be hired.  Companies like DE Shaw, Adobe, Arista, etc. give weightage to CGPA. But if you are good at coding, you can get selected, even with a low CGPA.  So, if your coding skills are on point, you don’t need to worry about placements.  Rather than placements, CGPA matters more at the time of internships. Many companies don’t shortlist students with lower CGPA. So, try to keep your CGPA above 8. ...Read more

For CS, BITS Pilani is better than IIT BHU. It offers excellent resources, infrastructure, academics, and placements for the branch. BITS is widely recognized in the CSE domain. Ques. Which is better for computers, IIT BHU or IIT Bhubaneswar?

● Top Answer By Sritama Singha on 14 Aug 20

IIT BHU and IIT Bhubaneswar are ranked 11th and 22nd respectively by the engineering category NIRF 2020. IIT BHU being an older institute does have a large alumni network which results in good placements but it lacks modern infrastructure which is better in IIT Bhubaneswar. Being a new IIT, IIT Bhubaneswar has better hostels than any other IITs. Thus in terms of infrastructure, IIT Bhubaneswar is better than IIT BHU. IIT BHU is located in Varanasi which is not the capital city of Uttar Pradesh but IIT Bhubaneswar is located in the capital city of Orissa giving it the advantage of better connectivity with the metropolis, airport and as a result, it attracts more multinational companies. The closing rank in IIT BHU for CS is under 1000 and that of IIT Bhubaneswar is under 2500. Thus students with a better rank often choose IIT BHU. Coding Culture, Faculty, etc. are also better in IIT BHU. Placements are also better in IIT BHU for Computers than IIT Bhubaneswar. But despite being a newly established institute the first batch in Computers of IIT Bhubaneswar got placed with an average salary package of 15 lakhs per annum. So, IIT BHU is a better choice for computer compared to IIT Bhubaneswar is also worth considering because their Computer Engineering department is the most popular. In 2019 placement in Computer Engineering was 100%....Read more

Ques. Is the content taught in CSE in IIT Bombay tougher than that taught in IIT BHU?

● Top Answer By Samita Saha on 14 Aug 20

CSE has been at the top and has become the branch that has ruled over core branches for more than a decade now. Even though CSE course works are given specific modifications by each college separately, though the major outline of the course work is still quite similar. IIT Bombay has explicitly designed the course for CSE to provide students more in-depth knowledge about algorithms by introducing subjects such as Discrete Structures, Data Analysis and Interpretation, and Introduction to Electrical and Electronics Circuits. These subjects are mainly introduced to help students develop skill sets required to understand how a machine works and to give a deeper understanding of how to analyze data and structure. These particular subjects are introduced prior to Coding so that it would enhance their understanding which directly relates to a better understanding of Algorithms. Whereas the course works of IIT BHU involve subjects such as Probability and Statistics, Engineering Mechanics, and Discrete Math. Though, these subjects are important but not as challenging as proposed by IIT-Bombay. Subjects such as Algorithms, Operating Systems and Artificial Intelligence are introduced by IIT BHU in the 4th Semester, and in comparison to IIT-B, it can be said that CSE course work of IIT BHU provides students a slow start....Read more

Ques. Which is better for cs iit Patna or iit bhu?

● Top Answer By Suparana Chatterjee on 13 Aug 20

IIT BHU CSE is better than IIT Patna CSE due to many reasons. First of all, the coding culture at IIT BHU is unparalleled. Although the coding culture at IIT Patna is quite revered, it still does not match IIT BHU. The institute(IIT BHU) also conducts Tech fests(Codefest being a prominent fest). Codefest has been successful in creating a competitive milieu for coding by inviting students from all over the world. The seniors at IIT BHU are very helpful and provides guidance.  An underpinning feature of IIT BHU is the Internship opportunities that it provides for students. The overall infrastructure of IIT BHU is also better than IIT Patna. While NIRF rankings(2019) rank IIT Patna at an overall rank of 22, IIT BHU is ranked at 11. The overall placement performance and scenario of IIT BHU also better when compared to IIT Patna. In 2019 a total of 66 students were placed with average packages ranging from 10 LPA to 58.21 LPA from CSE in IIT BHU. However, the 2019 placement highlights of IIT Patna revels 50 students from CSE got a placement with an average package of 13.5 LPA. IIT BHU also has a vast number of alumni as compared to IIT Patna. Many alumni from IIT BHU CS have secured high echelons in eminent MNCs and PSUs. While some have placed themselves in reputed companies or opted for startups, others pursued further studies in reputed universities of the world. However, considering all the factors, CS at IIT BHU is definitely a better choice as compared to CS at IIT Patna. ...Read more

Ques. How is CSE in IIT-BHU?

● Top Answer By Shivam Tyagi on 14 Feb 22

CSE in IIT BHU is good. The institute has one of the largest alumni bases for the CSE branch in the country. The placement averages around 100% for CSE students. The domestic average salary package for the branch is 25 LPA. The placement statistics of CSE in IIT BHU are comparable to the top 7 IITs in the country.  The coding culture on campus is quite active. The programming club holds workshops and competitions around the academic year. Since academics aren’t that demanding at IIT BHU, you will get enough time to pursue other technical and co-curricular activities.  For CSE, ragging is completely non-existent. Seniors are quite helpful. You can ask for their help regarding coding or academics. ...Read more
