I applied for jee main and jee advanced entrance exams. I found the application forms on the NTA official website. The application fee for Jee Main is 1000. The application fee for Jee Advanced is 2900. I benefit from general ews reservation benefits. I think we should remove the reservations and should improve the application website server.
The admission in IIT BHU is strictly thorugh JEE ADVANCED, I cleared JEE advanced 2023 to secure my admission in this college. The cut off for general category in Mechanical engineering is around 6600 this year. Seats are reserved for OBC,SC,ST as in other government institutions. Securing admission is very difficult here as you will have to clear one of the toughest exams
yes you have to take Jee mains first and should qualify it and then you have to give Jee advanced in that if you get at least <4000 Rank you can get into this course and if you are obc,sc,at you can get easily there will be many fee benefits also no improvement in the application process and application process is done in online you can do it in online easily.
Eligibility is Jee Advanced exam Application form in jee advanced main website, application fees is 2000 There are reservation benefits for SC, ST, OBC, GEN (EWS) I think there is no improvement process to see in the admission process
I have written the JEE Advanced examination. After that, there is a councelling service called, JOSAA. On that website, we have to register and place our college options in priority order. There will be 8 rounds of JOSAA councelling. And, there will be cutoff ranks for each branch in each iit. The lower the cutoff rank, the higher the difficulty of getting it. After 8 rounds, you will be availed a seat in an IIT of your highest priority, that suits your rank. The students who have reservations have benefits such as increased cutoff rank, and a higher probability of getting a better seat. Students of OBC NCL and ST categories get full fee reimbursement.
We have to qualify for jee mains and get the required score in jee advanced to be eligible for respective courses in a particular college. I have an OBC reservation so that I can be eligible for better courses. I think there is no problem with my admission process. It is well-designed.
The admission is accomplished by getting a good score in JEE ADV. The reservation benifits are complete fee exemption for SC/st and two-thirds for OBC. I don't have any problems with the admission process.
The Admission is through jee mains and Advance and you can Jee cutoffs at many websites for you can find the application form from nta website for Jee Mains and for Jee Advance you can visit Jossa visit
I have given jee mains and advance for the admission and you need your category certificate to avail reservation. You can easily find the application form for Jee Mains on nta website and joss website for Jee Advance.
Admission is taken through the jee advance exam. You have to qualify according to your cast eligibility marks. The detailed marks requirements are available on the official JOSSA site. It also depends upon the hardness of jee advanced paper

IIT-BHU used to be a part of Banaras Hindu University, in 2012 it became an IIT but it still shares the same campus with BHU. The campus is spread over a 1350 acre campus (acclaimed to be the largest residential campus in Asia) and well equipped with all the basic necessities. There is a full-fledged hospital and a health centre within the campus. There is also a trauma centre nearby, in case of emergencies. Students have much more freedom here compared to any other IIT. You can go in and out of the campus at any time (although girls have a 10 PM hostel curfew). Due to the large student population, there are shops inside the campus, or just outside from where students can buy basic necessities.
Pros:
Placements are really good - at par with top IITs. (The average CTC for this year was ranged between 10 LPA to 58 LPA )
Only IIT which allows students to keep their own vehicles within the campus (officially, from 2nd year).
You can get your branch changed after the first semester results. (Provided you fulfill the required CGPA)
Being over a hundred years old, this college offers a vast alumni network.
There is a great coding culture and students from various branches and departments take part.
The campus is a ragging-free zone. This is not really required because the senior-junior interaction is really healthy.
There are several councils and clubs offering all types of activities.
There is an active Student Counselling Service - which has proven beneficial for freshers. There is also an induction programme to get students used to the college before the curriculum takes off.
You can get access to books from libraries of both IIT(BHU) and BHU. This makes for a very LARGE collection.
Only IIT with two pure vegetarian messes, without Onion and Garlic. There is also a special South-Indian mess. Non-veg is also provided within the mess itself.
Cons:
The infrastructure in some of the hostels is quite old. The rooms are usually small.
The college does not have some sporting facilities yet, such as - a squash court, its own pool, etc. and students have to share with BHU, which puts up some restrictions.
The gym is usually crowded - although there are private gyms nearby (you will have to pay for them).
Overall, IIT BHU is a good college with amazing placements and decent academics.
?
IIT BHU is underrated primarily because of its infrastructure. There’s a lot of issues with this since it is a 100-year-old construction and since then, there have only been renovations all around the campus. Also, it has become an IIT only in the year of 2012 and started receiving hefty funds only since then. Over the years IIT BHU improved its infrastructure but it will take few more years to reach the same level as other IITs. After getting the status of an IIT, the institute is looking after the students’ facilities and spending a lot on the extra-curricular activities. It is surely underrated as of today because of the infrastructure, but hopefully, that will change in the coming years.
As a fresher, you’ll need some of your documents such as Aadhar card, PAN card, fee receipts, and photographs very frequently for the library, hostels, SIM cards, and various other purposes. So it would be better to have photocopies of the above things with you. Another suggestion would be to join a sport or a club of your liking and stick to it till the end. It would help you stay active and aware which would eventually be helpful during your placements and internships.
Many of the seniors may say that CGPA won't matter and give examples of their friends who might have excelled at other fields or bagged a quite nice offer from some MNC. Those stories may be true but CGPA does matter, so focus on improving your CGPA. Attend all the classes and tutorials. This will help you during semester exams and you won’t have to mug up the syllabus right before exams. You’ll be getting high-speed internet here, so just make sure that you do not invest all of your time binge-watching serials, movies, TV shows, and youtube. Instead, explore the campus and the city itself as the campus life at IIT BHU will be your best 4 years of life.
Consultancies do recruit from IIT (BHU). However, there are relatively fewer hires for these positions as compared to other sectors. Some of the famous consultancies that hire from this IIT are - Deloitte, McKinsey, B. EXL, ZS Associates, Capgemini. In 2020, only 21 students were recruited for consulting positions, as compared to about 800 recruits overall. The reason behind this is stated below:
As it is an Institute for technology, most students prefer going to more technical areas of work.
After graduating some students prefer to pursue an MBA after a couple of years of work in the field.
Students do not have courses in IIT which solely focussed on leadership skills and/ or business management. Also, there are no courses in economics and finance.
There are usually fewer job opportunities in consulting - even lesser for people coming from purely technical institutions.
Some people go into building start-ups rather than going into entry-level management/ consulting positions, especially since they can develop the technical skill-set in college itself.
IIT BHU in Varanasi is one of the top-ranked institutions in our country. It’s currently ranked 11th in the nation. But, even before that, it pretty much met the standards of IITs. Students who got admission, even before 2012, had qualified JEE Advanced. Below mentioned points will back up the above statements.
The points, as mentioned above, very well prove that IIT BHU is very worthy of being an IIT.
You will need to bring basic amenities like bedding, books, clothes, etc. Here are some of the things that you can add to your checklist of things to carry with you.
There are many factors that set apart IIT BHU from other IITs.
In IIT BHU, students are expected to attend all the classes for their respective courses. However, if for some reason students fail to attend all classes, they need to maintain a minimum of 85% attendance. The 85% attendance rule is applicable for theory classes, however, for laboratory classes students are expected to maintain 100% attendance. If any students miss lab class for some emergency they can contact the teacher concerned to make up for it. Students are allowed leave for medical emergencies provided they submit proper documentation. Many professors follow the attendance rule strictly while others may not. To be safe students should maintain a minimum of 85% attendance as the institute takes disciplinary measures for students who fail to do so.
