Course Curriculum Overview:

well my reason for choosing this course has nothing to do with my interest as most of the students here would go into software-oriented firms, it's just my branch is a circuital branch and all the companies are open for us unlike the core branches faculty ratio is not something you should worry about it it really good tho the teaching is upto the mark but there is an issue due to the language barrier I suppose ...but it won't matter your not in school anymore what else did you expect

Course Curriculum Overview:

It was circuital which gives us many opportunities at the time of placements unlike non-circuital. 1:6 teacher-student ratio. Many teachers have completed their PhD and are into research. Some teachers are too knowledgeable. We have 2 cycle tests and an end sem with some assignments included. But it's easy to pass as it is relative grading is used for courses with students of more than 10.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is the course that I got based on my jee percentile, so I chose this course. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:7, and this is the same for all the branches. All the faculty have doctorates, and to be frank, the teaching of a lot of faculties is not that great. They assume we know everything and don't do everything properly and give a lot of work without considering the mental health of students and this affects us a lot. Exams are also very much difficult and sometimes questions were given on some advanced topics which weren't even taught.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen this course because it is a circuital branch where all companies will be opened for circuital branches. There are a total of 125 students in the branch with 18 faculty members. All the faculty have a minimum qualification of a Ph.D. and have good knowledge of the subject. In a semester each subject has 3 major exams(including 2 minor exams and 1 end sem) and 2 assignments.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually, the course curriculum in our college is quite good. And my branch is instrumentation and control engineering which is a circuital branch. And hence it is the best possible branch that I could get here .so I chose it. And joining here I can say it is one of the top 4 branches in nit Trichy followed by cse, ece, eee. our faculty are very good and experienced and we have lots of work to learn ourselves. Because the faculty won't say everything in class just they want to make us learn ourselves. There will be 2 term exams will be conducted for every semester within a month gap between them. And it is not that difficult to pass but the scoring top is quite difficult here.

Ques. How are the Instrumentation & Control engineering placements in NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Shreyansh Patil on 02 Sept 21

Instrumentation and Control engineering of NIT Trichy is a tremendously demanding branch. I have a few friends from NIT Trichy and according to them, the department is great. Except for a few of the faculties the faculty members are cooperative.  In fact, in this branch, you will be exposed to a very healthy learning procedure. Most essentially, the department of Instrumentation and Control engineering has a broad and diversified curriculum. You can ask some of the alumni members to walk you through the subjects, electives, curriculum, and other relevant areas of concern. ...Read more

Ques. Which would be a better choice, instrumentation in BITS Goa campus or instrumentation at NIT Trichy?

● Top Answer By Vineet Kumar Singh on 24 Aug 21

There is nothing called instrumentation engineering. The students usually study the syllabus of the electronic branch that includes learning low-level languages along with the complete command of them.  There is a very high demand for highly skilled engineers who know the top programming languages like TopCoder, GitHub, and many more.  Learning these languages totally depends upon the person that they can do without going to college. Becoming an electronics engineer totally depends upon the person, and their effort, not the college.  Some of the students follow the GATE syllabus to enter into the government sectors.  Some get recruitment in top private companies by learning these programming languages. The college can help you out only by giving a proper study environment that can promote your overall development.  If you wish to join the private sector, then only the placement facility provided by the college is useful to you. Categories Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at BITS Goa Instrumentation and Control Engineering at NIT Trichy Course Fee 19.19 lakh 5.65 lakh Highest CTC 24 LPA 22 LPA Average CTC 12 LPA 10-11 LPA Recruiting Companies Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Western Digital, JP Morgan, etc. TCS, Infosys, Reliance, Morgan Stanley, etc. Last but not least we can say that the college for the instrumentation branch is the version of the electronics branch of engineering. It totally depends on you how much effort you are putting into the same and not depend on the college....Read more

For understanding the several factors relevant to the institute, you should know both the advantages and disadvantages that are in favor of you. Thus, here is a detailed breakdown of every aspect you should know about NIT Trichy.  Instrumentation and Control Engineering (ICE) at NIT Trichy -  The placement ratio of the branch is really high.  Students can have multiple opportunities in both circuital and non-circuital engineering fields.  The faculty of NIT Trichy is extremely cooperative and helpful for students pursuing their higher education. Moreover, there is a lesser number of credits, unlike many other departments, helping students have free time. Thus, it can lead students to pursue their hobbies, alongside education. Ques. Which is better: NIT Trichy I.C.E. or S.S.N. EEE branch?

● Top Answer By Chetna Patil on 03 Sept 21

Instrumentation & Control Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering are different branches. Although, both of these branches have some similarities. To choose between both of these is your choice. Here are some of the facts about NIT Trichy and SSN. Faculty: SSN has amazing teaching faculty. They have quality teachers, some better than in NIT Trichy.  Ranking: SSN is one of the premier institutes in Tamil Nadu and NIT Trichy is among the top-ranked NITs in the country. Extracurricular activities: SSN gives equal importance to academics and extra-curricular activities as well. They focus on overall development. In NIT Trichy, a lot of extracurricular activities are held. Fests are organized almost every week. They focus too much on extracurricular. Campus: SSN is lush green and has a scenic beauty. NIT Trichy has a rocky campus and does not have much greenery, although they do have a beautiful college avenue road. Ques. Which would be better to take from NIT Trichy: instrumentation and control or production?

● Top Answer By Anirban Biswas on 04 Sept 21

I know a little bit about ISI Kolkata since I have a few friends from the institute. Here is what you should know about the internships between semesters.  The course curriculum specifies that in the summer after completing your first year of M.Tech, you have to do an internship either in the industry or academia. You will have 3 options.  Industry: Many companies that visit the Campus for placements of 2nd-year students also select interns for the same. Some of such companies are Samsung Research Labs, Google, General Electric, Reliance, Flipkart, De Shaw, JP Morgan Chase, etc. The average stipend offered last year was 65,000 rupees/month. Some companies offer more than 1 lakh/month. One of my friends interned at Samsung Research Labs. Academia: As per ISI guidelines, you need to pursue an internship at a different academic Institute or industry. A friend of mine went to NUS Singapore, while two others went to a university in Germany. You can also apply to other institutes in Japan, USA, and Europe. People also go to IITs, CMI, and other Tier-1 Institutes of India. Within ISI: If for some reason you could not get an internship in the above-mentioned ways, you can approach any of the 250+ faculty members across all 5 ISI‘s and can ask to work with them in their labs. You will have internships at the end of the first year. In the second year, you will have placements, dissertation, academics. So, the only time left to do an additional internship is the winter break after the first sem. Unless you are extremely enthusiastic, I will suggest that you take a break during this period. Because after the break you will be swamped with coursework for 1.5 years....Read more

Ques. Is the instrumentation and control engineering course at NIT Trichy tough?

● Top Answer By Rajiv Shankar on 31 Aug 21

The answer would be Yes. One of my friends had completed B.Tech in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from NIT Trichy. The course is definitely tough but the level of difficulty perceived may differ from person to person. And here is some of the information about the course. Sheer multi-disciplinary nature of subjects : In the very same semester, the candidate will have to study a varied range of subjects such as Fluid mechanics, Material sciences and Circuit theory.  All of these subjects require a good knowledge about modeling in different areas of Physics as it is one of the most essential skills of an Instrument designer. Involvement in Laboratory activities : Practical knowledge is very important.  Most of the lab exercises are worked in a team.  Thus to complete any task starting from designing, experiment and analysis within a particular given time is a bit of a challenge.  It is important for all the team members to work efficiently for the task to be completed. Programming and Analytical skills :  It is important to have a good hold on C/C++ programming to understand subjects such as Data structures/Algo, Embedded systems, Control systems design. Product design and Development : The candidate needs to come with new project ideas and develop it from scratch and make it an Industrial prototype.  This will require a lot of outdoor work, market surveys, meeting suppliers and customer feedback.  Teamwork is very important for such activities. Design specification : Right from the lab exercises, most of the projects and products the candidate needs to work on have a clear Design Specification.  It is important to adhere to those specifications as it demands sincere and laborious efforts from the candidate which might be tough.  The faculty or project guide may also make things tougher. These were some of the aspects that make Instrumentation and Control Engineering tough. The course is pretty involved and demanding. Though all these mentioned aspects and skills are required to be a successful Instrumentation engineer....Read more

Ques. Which is better ICE at Nit Trichy or bits Goa msc mathematics?

● Top Answer By Anita Chakroborty on 24 Aug 21

I have friends pursuing courses you mentioned above at either institute. Based on the discussion I have with them, here is what should be best for you, The institutes can be considered quite equivalent to one another, but BITS Goa has an upper hand.  M.Sc at BITS Goa can be specialized following the first year, during which you will be allocated a B.E course depending upon your CGPA.  With a 6 CGPA, you can get Mechanical Engineering, which is quite an easy job. In contrast, it is better than ICE. However, if your scores are high enough then you might get a seat in CSE.  By the end of 5 years, you will be receiving a B.E and an M.Sc degree, which is nonetheless a smarter choice.  However, the fees at BITS Goa are quite a lot. ...Read more
