Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty here is very concentrated to deliver all the knowledge to the students, the curriculum is hard which can lead to the development of the brain of an individual. Some faculty is very good and friendly and some are very serious.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose ENC because It gives me a peek into both the Electronics core and CS domains. The student-teacher ratio is such that in the first year as subjects are common there are 250 students with one teacher but in second-year in classes we have 120 students on 1 teacher further class is divided in to sections with each 25 having a personal tutorial and lab teacher. The faculty are the best and have all done their PHDs from Thapar, IITs or Foreign universities. The exams are divided such that you have sufficient time to prepare for each. Here almost no students are failed

Course Curriculum Overview:

Thapar is one of the Most Prestigious Colleges in North India after IIT and NIT which gives an obvious reason to join the college. For Lectures the Faculty: Student Ratio is 120:1 but for labs, it is 25:1. The Faculty is highly qualified, most of them have Ph. D.s from Tier 1 Colleges in India, and the teaching is convenient just that in B. Tech. you learn more online and less in offline classes, but labs are good wrt to equipment. Exams were not as per schedule due to COVID but now things are going back to normal.

I choose this course because of my interest in this field. The faculty is very good. student ratio is less that's why the opportunity is more .teaching is good. classrooms are huge and clean with proper teaching facilities.Exams are done monthly and they are easy to crack if you study regularly

Ques. How is the Electronics and Computer Engineering Branch of Thapar University in terms of faculty and placement and is it good to join thapar now?

● Top Answer By Tania Sharma on 12 Aug 21

ECE at Thapar University is more Hardware orientated. You may find yourself dealing with semiconductors for about 3 to 3.5 years. In addition to this, will be the onslaught of programming languages and a little portion of database and networking.  In case you opt for the Computer Science program, you'll notice that it is purely software-oriented and has a lot more on programming languages, architectures, databases,, and networking. ECE is the 2nd best option after CSE as its cut-off is just below it. This year, cut off score for ECE is as listed below: Particulars General Category (Outside Punjab) General Category (From Punjab) 10th Marks (PCM) 95.66% 85% JEE Main 2021 65.05 percentile 87.47 percentile As for placements, some well-known companies which visit for recruitment, are Texas Instruments, Whirlpool India, TCS, HP, Larsen and Toubro, ST Electronics, Philips, Mu Electronics India, and others. ● Top Answer By Mitesh Deshmukh on 10 Aug 21

The faculty of the ECE department at Thapar University is extremely good. The university has skilled and highly educated and experienced faculty members. Most of the faculty members are well-versed in their Respective Fields. You can refer to the table mentioned below for the placement statistics of the University: Particulars Placement Statistics 2020  No. of Recruiters 264 No of offers 996 No. of Students Placed 971 No. of PPO’s 300 No of Internship offers 1200 Highest CTC INR 43 LPA Students enrolled in core field branches and those who wish to get placed in the IT industry have many opportunities available at the University.  You will be offered many resources along with the guidance of faculty members for research purposes. Ques. Is electronics and computers a good option at Thapar University?

● Top Answer By Ahelita Anand on 09 Aug 21

One of my friends had been in the very first batch of B.E Electronics and Computer branch. I might be able to share some facts about the college and the course which can be useful. The batch size consists of 68 students. The placement records were pretty good.  This branch was considered for recruitment in the core companies of both ECE and CS. Students were placed by some of the top recruiting core CS companies that include D.E Shaw, Microsoft, Walmart, Samsung, Wipro as well core Electronics companies such as NXP, Mentor Graphics, etc. The average placement package for the first batch was 7 LPA while the highest was 16 LPA for this branch. The course curriculum of this branch includes the core subjects from both ECE and CS branches.  The student gets a sneak peek at the common subjects required for the placement criteria for the core CS as well as ECE branches. If the students are not a big fan of coding cultures that the CS branch usually offers nor good at ECE setups then they would not regret getting into this branch. In the end, the placement will only be availed by the students with their hard work and efforts....Read more
