IIT Indore MTech Admission 2024: Registration (Open), Dates, Fees, Cutoff, Eligibility, Placement

IIT Indore MTech admissions are based on GATE Score followed by COAP counselling. For IIT Indore MTech Admission 2024, GATE Registrations have started from August 30. The closing date of regular registration is October 12, 2023. Along with that, the deadline for extended online registration or application process (with late fee) is 20th October, 2023. 

IIT Indore offers MTech program for a duration of 2 years under 13 different specialisations. IIT Indore MTech admission is granted on the basis of GATE exam scores and COAP counselling process. The institute has participated till 10 rounds of COAP counselling for the year 2023.

IIT Indore permits MTech admission to both the Indian applicants and Foreign applicants. Along with that, graduates with an IIT BTech degree with a CGPA of 8.0 and Sponsored or QIP candidates with a fine academic background are free from giving the GATE examination and can apply directly through the institute’s admission portal. IIT Indore also provides with a summer term for which the candidates have to register mandatorily.

IIT Indore MTech Eligibility Criteria

Applicants applying must fulfil the following criteria:

Indian Applicants

• At least 60% aggregate in B.E. or B.Tech degree in a relevant discipline.
• Applicants will have to apply for GATE with the above qualification.
• GATE exam can also be taken by students in the 3rd year of their study.

Foreign Applicants

• These applicants have to have a bachelor’s in Engineering or equivalent.
• Also to prove their English speaking level TOEFL or IELTS score is also accepted.
• In some cases, some departments may conduct an interview before final selection. 

GATE Score Exemption

The students who fulfil the eligibility criteria given below are exempted from submitting GATE scores:

• Graduates with 6.5 CGPA from any IIT in B.Tech with a CGPA of 8 in the last 2 semesters, are exempted from submitting GATE scores. 
• Sponsored or QIP candidates with a good academic background, are also exempted from submitting GATE scores

IIT Indore MTech Admission Criteria 2023

Only those applicants who are eligible as per above criteria can apply for the GATE exam. Admission is based on GATE scores for M.Tech. upon qualifying for GATE, applicants will have to apply for counselling through COAP. 

How to Apply?

The applications are accepted through the official website of GOAPS. Where the applicant must register first to create a new registration using one unique email id. 

Documents Required

• Scanned photograph and signature 
• Valid Photo ID (Aadhaar Card/Passport/Driving License/PAN Card/Voter ID/College ID/Employee Identification Card/Notarized Affidavit with Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address).
• Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate/Course Completion Certificate.
• Copy of mark sheet of V /VI /VII semester.
• Final year students must submit Provisional Certificate Letter as per format issued by the Home of Institute/Dean/Registrar/Head of Dept.
• Candidates in the final year of AMIE have to submit their mark sheet for Section A of AMIE in case of professional equivalent qualifications.
• Caste Certificate/Disability or PwD Certificate (if applicable).
• Candidates pursuing a higher degree or masters have to submit the qualifying degree certificate.

GATE 2023 COAP Registration Process

After passing the GATE entrance exam, candidates are to register for the COAP counseling process to secure their admission into IITs, NITs, and other participating institutes. COAP provides a common platform for the registered candidates to make the most preferred choice for admission into an M.Tech. Program in the participating Institutes. 

Eligibility Criteria to Register for COAP 2023

1. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
2. Candidates should have a valid GATE score from 2023/2022/2021.

GATE 2023 COAP Step by Step Registration Process:

The candidates can successfully apply for GATE COAP 2023 by simply following the below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of COAP @ coap.iitd.ac. and click on the registration link.

Step 2: Fill in details such as their GATE Registration Number, GATE Paper Code, GATE score, date of birth.

Step 3: Click on the “Validate” icon and enter the registered email id and mobile number.

Step 4:Click on the “Submit to Register” button.

Step 5: After the registration is successfully done for COAP 2023, the candidates will obtain a Login ID and Password for COAP Login. The same will be sent via Email and SMS.

Step 6: The COAP registration will only be considered as complete only if the candidates log in using the Login ID and Password and verify the registration details.

Step 7: After the completion of the above-given steps, the candidate can access the information on offers made from the participating Institutes.

Step 8: In the end, the admission offer will be uploaded at COAP website and will be tagged with COAP registration number (same as GATE registration number without subject code).

IIT Indore GATE Qualifying Cutoff 2023-24 (Released)

GATE 2023 qualifying cutoff is the minimum mark required to register for the COAP 2023 counselling. There is a difference between the admission cutoff of the institute and minimum cutoff required for participation in the admission process/ counselling. Given below are the minimum cutoff marks that a candidate must score to qualify the GATE examination and register for the corresponding counselling process.

IIT Indore MTech Course Details

M.Tech at IIT Indore does not offer any provision to switch from part time to full time mode. It is a full time course and part time M.Tech is currently unavailable at IIT Indore.

• There is also a summer term for which applicants have to register mandatorily.
• M.Tech applicants can also switch to PhD programs at IIT Indore.
• A total of 144 credits is to be completed during M.Tech course at IIT Indore.
• 54 credits is for coursework and 72 are for research work for IIT Indore M.Tech.

IIT Indore MTech Duration 

The minimum duration for completing M.Tech program at IIT Indore is 2 years. While 4 years is the maximum time limit to complete M.Tech course at IIT Indore. This includes qualifying for all exam papers and the thesis or research work as well.

IIT Indore MTech Financial Assistance

M.Tech students are offered assistantship if they are supervised by a professor and are also GATE qualified.

• The students are offered INR 8,000 per month for their assistantship on campus. 
• Currently, M.Tech students at IIT Indore are offered a monthly stipend of INR 12,400 for 8 hours of work per week.
