Harshveer Singh's Review On Punjab Engineering College University Of Technology - [PEC], Chandigarh | collegedunia.com

The Inside Truth of PEC

Remarks :

The admission process is through the clearance in the JEE Mains Exam that is held each year, As for my Course i.e. Mechanical the average cutoff that went was around 90% percentile in the exam. All the application details and fees related things were done on JOSAA Website as far as I remember.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Faculty to student Ratio is 1:60 . All the professors are quite qualified to do their job. They teach well and are dedicated. Exams are conducted twice in a semester and the difficulty level remains from moderate to high level and it gets somewhat to score well because a good amount of weightage goes to assignments and practicals

Internships Opportunities :

A lot of companies come with mass recruiters like JP Morgan, Goldmann Sachs, etc and they offer a decent amount of stipend also considering a person's abilities. A lot of roles are there like Core, Coding, Analysts, Business Operations, Consulting etc

Placement Experience :

After 6th semester, students are eligible for campus placements. A lot of companies come like Amazon, Maruti, Honda, and Companies like JP Morgan sure take up a lot of Students from our campus. The highest package has been around 70 LPA, And if I say for Mechanical 80-90% of Students are placed with the highest 43 LPA in Mechanical. Well for me, I am not sure yet what to do next

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

According to the fee hike policy, the fees get increased by 5% each year. But in comparison to private institutions, it's quite affordable to study here. And the scholarships are available for financially weaker students so that they can study well without the tension of fees and all

Campus Life :

Our annual fest is PECFEST Which is held each year around winter with a footfall of thousands of students. Our library is quite big and has a lot of books on All kinds of Subjects. The newer classes have ACs in them. Yes, the campus is full of extracurricular activities and sports, Our sports meet just ended up last month.

Hostel Facilities :

We are provided with basic things like a bed, chair, table, and cupboard. The meal quality is not that bad either and have a variety of meals covered on the menu. The hostels themselves are not that costly either. Overall its a good place to have fun with your friends

Many leading companies across various sectors visit the campus for recruitment, and students have been placed in well-known companies with lucrative packages. In case campus placements are not offered, the college provides ample opportunities for students to enhance their employability through internships and skills development programs.

7th-semester students start having their tests and interviews for placements. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple, arcesium, JP Morgan, Airbus, Uber, Flipkart, etc. visit the campus. The highest package this time was 86 lakhs CTC to six students and the average package is 14 lakhs. Mainly they offer coding and finance-related profiles. More or less everyone who sits in the placements gets placed, the percentage is above 90. I also want to get a good placement in an MNC.

Placement Experience:

Placements depend on the reputation and performance of the university, the quality of education and training provided, and the demand for the particular field of study. If a college does not offer campus placements, students can still explore various job opportunities through job portals, job fairs, or by contacting companies directly. They can also opt for higher studies or entrepreneurship. Eligibility: Generally, students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th or 6th semester onwards, depending on the university's policies. The companies that visit a college depend on the reputation and performance of the college and the demand for the particular field of study. Some of the top companies that visit colleges for placements include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, etc. The number of offers made by these companies varies from college to college. The highest and average packages offered to students during campus placements varies based on performance.

Yes, it's pretty good. I am mentioning a few companies which came for the 2022 batch listed below: DE SHAW GOOGLE INDIA MICROSOFT DELOITTE AMAZON FLIPKART but it all depends on your effort because studies are not so up to date and attendance criteria (75%).so you have to be pro in coding if u want to be in these top-notch tier companies.

Students are eligible from the 6th semester. More than 700 companies visit for placement. Cisco, Google, TCS, Wipro, Servicenow, Mykaarma, Amazon, and many more companies. Each company provides different types of offers. Offers start from 3.5 lakhs to 60 lakhs. It depends on the student's skill and knowledge which offer they take. Companies come for Software development, networking, front-end development, and so on. The highest package of last year is rs 63 lakh and the average placement is of 5 lakhs. More than 90 percent of students get placed. My plan after getting a degree are to get placed in a reputed company with the best package.
