Naman Sharma's Review On Punjab Engineering College University Of Technology - [PEC], Chandigarh | collegedunia.com

Everything you should know about PEC. All truth and facts.

Remarks :

Admission is based on jee Mains exam conducted by NTA. The admission process is conducted by jossa and the cutoff varies year to year for mechanical is generally around 40k for other states. There's a Chandigarh quota where it can be as high as 70k.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Faculty to student ratio is 1:60. All of the professors are well-qualified and do their duty well. They teach good and are dedicated. Exams are conducted twice every semester and the difficulty level remains moderate to difficult and its rather easy to pass the course because of due weightage given to assignments and other stuff.

Internships Opportunities :

There are a lot of internship opportunities in the campus. Students go for internship in 6th semester. Wide variety of companies visit campus like Amazon, Airbus, JPMC, and Goldman Sachs. The stipend can go as high as 1.5 lakh per month like offered by PnG. The tasks vary from profile to profile.

Placement Experience :

Placement opportunities are very good in the college. Students go for internships in the 6th semester and are eligible for placements from the 7th semester. A lot of companies from a variety of fields visit campus and provide ample opportunities. The average placement percentage is around 80%. My plans are to get a good campus placement.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is 86k per semester excluding the hostel and some other stuff. The fees are hiked for new batches every year. All of the national scholarships are applicable here. For SC, and ST the fees are half. There are good placement opportunities too.

Campus Life :

The fest is conducted annually and there's a single fest combining technical and cultural events. There's a big library with ample books that can be issued for a semester from the book bank. Sports facilities are not as good as the courts and all aren't maintained.

7th-semester students start having their tests and interviews for placements. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple, arcesium, JP Morgan, Airbus, Uber, Flipkart, etc. visit the campus. The highest package this time was 86 lakhs CTC to six students and the average package is 14 lakhs. Mainly they offer coding and finance-related profiles. More or less everyone who sits in the placements gets placed, the percentage is above 90. I also want to get a good placement in an MNC.

Placement Experience:

Placements depend on the reputation and performance of the university, the quality of education and training provided, and the demand for the particular field of study. If a college does not offer campus placements, students can still explore various job opportunities through job portals, job fairs, or by contacting companies directly. They can also opt for higher studies or entrepreneurship. Eligibility: Generally, students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th or 6th semester onwards, depending on the university's policies. The companies that visit a college depend on the reputation and performance of the college and the demand for the particular field of study. Some of the top companies that visit colleges for placements include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, etc. The number of offers made by these companies varies from college to college. The highest and average packages offered to students during campus placements varies based on performance.

Yes, it's pretty good. I am mentioning a few companies which came for the 2022 batch listed below: DE SHAW GOOGLE INDIA MICROSOFT DELOITTE AMAZON FLIPKART but it all depends on your effort because studies are not so up to date and attendance criteria (75%).so you have to be pro in coding if u want to be in these top-notch tier companies.

Students are eligible from the 6th semester. More than 700 companies visit for placement. Cisco, Google, TCS, Wipro, Servicenow, Mykaarma, Amazon, and many more companies. Each company provides different types of offers. Offers start from 3.5 lakhs to 60 lakhs. It depends on the student's skill and knowledge which offer they take. Companies come for Software development, networking, front-end development, and so on. The highest package of last year is rs 63 lakh and the average placement is of 5 lakhs. More than 90 percent of students get placed. My plan after getting a degree are to get placed in a reputed company with the best package.
