Kunal Sharma's Review On Punjab Engineering College University Of Technology - [PEC], Chandigarh | collegedunia.com

My important review for Future Generations of PEC

Remarks :

The admission process in PEC, Deemed to be University is totally based on JOSAA(JEE). Electrical engineering here I got with AIR 23000 in general quota another state. So everything here is based on JoSAA. We have to apply to josaa and fill in our preferences accordingly, like the preference of branch and college. But make sure to check previous year cut-offs of this college for this branch (Electrical) on College dunia itself. Here are many quotas like SC/ST/Ews/defence/Kashmiri migrant/sports. The admission process is well and good here!

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum here is good and well-structured. Like I am a student of electrical engineering, so I found all the courses good for us to get good intern and placements. Teachers here are very helpful in our department I can say. They are brilliant enough to make our future bright. Exams were on 1.5 months difference, like the first in a semester, there are mid sems after 1.5 minutes of the start and then endsems after 1.5 months of midsems approximately. It's not that difficult to pass them, you just need to study in the classes themselves, that's more than enough.

Internships Opportunities :

Internship opportunities here are very good. If you have more than 7 cgpa and you are in Circuital branches like CSE, ece, ee then there are high chances of getting internships and that too with a high stipend.

Placement Experience :

The placements here are well and good and decent enough. We have a CDGC department in our college which is there to help students with their placements. 7th and 8th-semester students are eligible for campus placements. More than 150 companies visited. 90% of people here are placed well. My plan after my degree is to be a CEO of big MNCs and software companies.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure here in Punjab Engineering College, Electrical engineering department is approximately Rs.1,76,000 /- for one year. This fee is for the first year and there will be hiking in fees of 10% each successful year. So the total cost to study here would be around Rs 12,00,000 for 4 years. Scholarship here is based on quotas like SC/ST as far as my knowledge is concerned. And that is very less in comparison to the general quota. Job opportunities here are pretty good, for interns we can consider a stipend of around approx. 50000 a month.

Campus Life :

Life here at the Punjab Engineering College campus is very interesting. We have our culture and technical fests annually named PECFEST. And it happens in the Month of November every year. We have a well-maintained library here in College which has more than 30000 books in it for different branches and subjects. We have smart boards installed in the classes to provide us with smart knowledge through presentations etc. We have sports meet annually and annual athletic meetings which are very good. We have more than 25 technical and culture clubs here on campus, out of which DRAMATICS Club is the best I've experienced. This club is run by students of PEC itself.

Hostel Facilities :

We have 4 hostels in our college named, Himalaya, Kurukshetra, Aravali, and Shivalik for boys And 2 hostels for girls named Vindhya and Kalpana Chawla. Hostel facilities are descent here Meals here are fine and hygienic enough to eat. The registration process is easy and we need to directly go to the warden of the hostel and register through our SIDs and pay the amount after some formalities we get rooms. The menu is regulated by the Students themselves. With is of good quality.

CCET has an excellent track record when it comes to placement. The college has a dedicated placement cell that works tirelessly to secure job opportunities for students. Many leading companies across various sectors visit the campus for recruitment, and students have been placed in well-known companies with lucrative packages. In case campus placements are not offered, the college provides ample opportunities for students to enhance their employability through internships and skills development programs.

7th-semester students start having their tests and interviews for placements. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple, arcesium, JP Morgan, Airbus, Uber, Flipkart, etc. visit the campus. The highest package this time was 86 lakhs CTC to six students and the average package is 14 lakhs. Mainly they offer coding and finance-related profiles. More or less everyone who sits in the placements gets placed, the percentage is above 90. I also want to get a good placement in an MNC.

Placement Experience:

Placements depend on the reputation and performance of the university, the quality of education and training provided, and the demand for the particular field of study. If a college does not offer campus placements, students can still explore various job opportunities through job portals, job fairs, or by contacting companies directly. They can also opt for higher studies or entrepreneurship. Eligibility: Generally, students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th or 6th semester onwards, depending on the university's policies. The companies that visit a college depend on the reputation and performance of the college and the demand for the particular field of study. Some of the top companies that visit colleges for placements include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, etc. The number of offers made by these companies varies from college to college. The highest and average packages offered to students during campus placements varies based on performance.

Yes, it's pretty good. I am mentioning a few companies which came for the 2022 batch listed below: DE SHAW GOOGLE INDIA MICROSOFT DELOITTE AMAZON FLIPKART but it all depends on your effort because studies are not so up to date and attendance criteria (75%).so you have to be pro in coding if u want to be in these top-notch tier companies.

Students are eligible from the 6th semester. More than 700 companies visit for placement. Cisco, Google, TCS, Wipro, Servicenow, Mykaarma, Amazon, and many more companies. Each company provides different types of offers. Offers start from 3.5 lakhs to 60 lakhs. It depends on the student's skill and knowledge which offer they take. Companies come for Software development, networking, front-end development, and so on. The highest package of last year is rs 63 lakh and the average placement is of 5 lakhs. More than 90 percent of students get placed. My plan after getting a degree are to get placed in a reputed company with the best package.
