Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as I was lacking the marks to get my intense course. Every class of 12 is taught by 8-10 faculty teachers. All faculties are Ph.D. graduates or researchers and are well-educated from foreign universities. Exams are conducted after 3 months and one can pass easily.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Electrical Engineering in PEC because at my rank it was the best option available for me as per placements are concerned, faculties are highly qualified but they lag in some basic teaching skills they have excellent knowledge about their subjects, and the faculty ratio is very poor its around 160 teachers for more than 3300 students, exams are conducted twice in a semester and they are kind of between hard and moderate difficulty level.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum here is good and well-structured. Like I am a student of electrical engineering, so I found all the courses good for us to get good intern and placements. Teachers here are very helpful in our department I can say. They are brilliant enough to make our future bright. Exams were on 1.5 months difference, like the first in a semester, there are mid sems after 1.5 minutes of the start and then endsems after 1.5 months of midsems approximately. It's not that difficult to pass them, you just need to study in the classes themselves, that's more than enough.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Faculty to student ratio is about 30-40 The teaching faculty is very nice and cooperative and holds good qualifications The course curriculum is not so very cool as the rating will be 7 out of 10. Getting a pass is easier and exams are held in two parts first is a mid-semester exam and the other is an end-semester exam in a semester.

I chose Electrical engineering because this was the best option available to me on the basis of my rank. The course curriculum keeps on changing, so you need to worry about the quality of education. However, the faculty: students ratio is 1:80.

Ques. How is electrical engineering and mechanical engineering at the PEC, Chandigarh? Is it worth it?

● Top Answer By Anuraag Mishra on 19 Sept 22

Both Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at PEC Chandigarh are great options. You should choose one of these courses based on your preference. The placement opportunities offered are similar, except Mechanical students are allowed for less number of coding job profiles. So, if you are interested in coding, choosing Electrical will be better. Ques. Should I take Electrical in NIT Kurushetra or Electrical in PEC Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Deepika Kunwar on 04 May 21

If you think statistically, then PEC Chandigarh is better than NIT Kurukshetra. Considering this, the following reasons are listed: It is a reputed and A-Brand old institute of India, although it was established 100 years back. As per the NIRF data, the average salary package of this institute is also higher and can be compared with the old IITs. The growth rate is still undergoing since its infrastructural development had recently started. The students here get internship opportunities in top MNCs at International locations. Lastly, the extracurricular activities of this institute are huge. Placement at PEC= 1.58* NIT Kurukshetra Criteria PEC NIT Kurukshetra NIRF Ranking 2020 68 40 Highest CTC 42.5 LPA 17 LPA Average CTC 10.2 LPA 7.44 LPA Besides, the internship records of this institute can be compared with old IITs. Students of PEC get approximately 169 internship opportunities, of which 24 were pre-placement offers. Many students also get the opportunity to join as a research intern in a renowned foreign university, a tenure of 6 months. So, if you to take admission in an institute considering your future with an average package of 10 LPA, then it must be noted that the student strength and competition in PEC are less than NIT Kurukshetra....Read more

Ques. Can one take ELE at PEC Chandigarh and then learn coding by himself in his free time and then get placed in an IT company like Microsoft, Google, Amazon etc.?

● Top Answer By Payel Dey on 30 Apr 21

I have two friends who are Electrical Engineering graduates from PEC and are currently working in a good IT company. One of them was also among the only two people who cracked directly written.  Being from an electrical background, it can be tough to learn coding in your free time and also cope up with your syllabus and keep your grades high. But if you are persistent you can definitely do it. You might also need to study some CS/IT subjects like DBMS while learning to code. As many students of the institute suggest to secure a job in an IT company you have to take off-campus routes, as most of the top companies are not open for interviews for the Electrical branch at PEC Chandigarh.  But yes, it is possible to land a job at an IT company even after completing ELE if you can learn to code properly and work hard enough to make yourself prepare for the job. ...Read more

Ques. Is the electrical course better than the mechanical course at PEC in Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Rohan Basu on 25 May 21

Two years ago, one of my friends was in the same situation. He could have taken electrical and sit for every company’s placements. If he chooses mechanical, then only core opportunities are open. Given the circumstances, he chose electrical in the first round of counseling. It was so because he would at least get a chance to sit in almost every business.  Sitting in a good company does not guarantee a good job, and mechanical engineering at PEC is far superior to that of many NITs and even IITs. Trusting his seniors and teachers, he switched to mechanical on the spot round to which he doesn't regret till now.  If you're interested in electrical, go for it. Since my friend had no particular interest in any of these subjects, he preferred mechanical over electrical....Read more

The cutoffs are released after the spot round. Ques. What should be preferred, CS at Thapar Patiala or Electrical Engineering at PEC Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Sakshi Chaudhary on 19 Jul 21

As these are two distinct branches of engineering, you should pursue a topic that piques your interest. CS is primarily concerned with software, whereas EE is more concerned with hardware. Fees may be high, but consider it an investment because if you learn and perform well, your first year's salary will pay for four years of education and beyond. However, listen to your heart and natural instincts. A CS graduate has more demand than an Electrical graduate. This is due to the rapid and constant growth of the corporate world. Electrical Engineering students can also sit for placements of both core and IT firms. Categories CS at Thapar Patiala Electrical at PEC Chandigarh Course Fee 13.23 lakh 6.39 lakh Highest CTC 20 LPA 8-10 LPA Average CTC 11 LPA 6 LPA Recruiting Companies Wipro, Infosys, TCS, IBM, etc. Phillips, L&T, JP Morgan, TCS, etc. It all depends on what you're interested in. If you are interested in CS, then choose Thapar (if fees are not an issue) or electrical in PEC Chandigarh....Read more
