Remarks :
The admission process was through JEE. You can find the form on Thapar.edu. You will get all details on the website. You can get into the college through reservation but fees are the same for all. There was no such hassle during the admission process.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose the course to pursue my bachelor's in computer science. Teacher to student ratio is 1 to 70. Most of the teachers are qualified but some are here through recommendations from famous politicians. Term exams happen after a gap of 1 month and correction is very strict. Students are failed on purpose to make money from the summer semester and auxiliary exams.
Internships Opportunities :
The internships can range from short-term projects to longer-term assignments that last for several months. Some popular companies that offer internships include Google, Amazon, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, and Microsoft. The roles offered under internships can vary based on the company's requirements and the student's skills and interests. They can range from software development, business analysis, financial analysis, marketing, and more
Placement Experience :
Generally, students become eligible for campus placements in their final semesters. Companies from various sectors like IT, finance, consulting, etc., visit the campus to recruit students.Some popular companies that visit campuses for placements include Infosys, TCS, Deloitte, Cognizant, and Wipro.The percentage of students getting placements can vary from 60 to 80%.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees are too high. But One of the standout aspects of Thapar College is the emphasis on experiential learning. Throughout my time there, I had opportunities to participate in internships, research projects, and study abroad programs that allowed me to apply what I was learning in the classroom to real-world situations. These experiences helped me to develop critical thinking skills and prepare me for my future career.
Campus Life :
Campus life in college is an exciting experience filled with opportunities for personal growth, academic advancement, and social connections. Students can participate in a wide range of activities, including clubs, sports teams, and events, while also taking advantage of resources like libraries, study centres, and career services. Living in dorms or off-campus housing allows for independence and the chance to forge meaningful friendships with peers. The college environment provides a unique and memorable period of life that helps shape students into the individuals they will become.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostel facilities usually provide a furnished room with a bed, study table, chair, and wardrobe. hostels may provide a meal plan for their residents, while rented accommodations usually do not include meal services.The registration process for hostels usually involves filling out an application form and submitting required documents.
