Jalaj's Review On Thapar Institute Of Engineering And Technology - [Thapar University], Patiala | collegedunia.com

Over Hyped college but not for Computer Branches

Remarks :

1. There are 2 modes of admission one through JEE and one through Boards. 2. All the details were uploaded on the university website. 3.N/A 4. I think the admission process can be made smooth if there is less communication gap between college and students.

Course Curriculum Overview :

1. Interested in Computer Software. 2. It is 1:30 which is a quite good ratio as the teacher is able to pay attention to all the students. 3. All the professors are Ph.D. and they try to improve their teaching methods by taking reviews from students. They already have nice teaching methods. 4. They happen to be 2 exams per semester and it's quite easy to pass but difficult to score well.

Internships Opportunities :

1. Basically being in 2nd year we are offered an internship in JPMC with a stipend unknown on campus 2. I made projects mainly under web development like a complaint portal, Airline management System, and TIC TAC TOE Application.

Placement Experience :

1. Students become eligible for placements in the 8th semester. 2. Apple, Amazon, and JPMC made a decent number of offers with up to 8 vacancies. 3. Highest Package-44.5LPA and Lowest-2.5LPA. 4. Almost 80 Percent of students got placed. 5. I am going to prepare for civil services.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

1. Fees are quite high as compared to the facilities they provide as well as hostel conditions are also not good. 2. They give only merit scholarships based on Cgpa and the companies also come with less stipend as compared to our fees which in turn means less ROI.

Campus Life :

1. Annual fest is Saturnalia and the tech fest is Orion and they are conducted in September and February respectively. 2. Books are easily available in the library and journals too. 3. Computer Science students are given more amenities than other branches as they are provided with ACs and more facilities in their lecture theatres. 4. Sports facilities are quite good on our campus as also extracurricular activities. 5. There are numerous clubs run by students on our campus based on Tech, Non-Tech, and other domains.

Hostel Facilities :

1. Wi-Fi, Beds, and chair tables. 2. Meal is not good in our hostels and the menu is quite attractive instead. 3. Registration process for hostels is quite good but hostels are not affordable for everyone. 4. Not available
