Is the JEE Main online tougher than offline?

GM
Gargi Mitra Posted On : April 25th, 2022
B.Tech from Nirma University (2021)

For 2022, JEE Mains will be conducted in online mode only. JEE Main conducting body - NTA has scrapped the offline mode completely. Only the drawing test for B.Arch will be taken in offline mode.

As for the difficulty level of the examination, it varies each year. Some of the pros of JEE Mains being online are no risk of incorrectly marking answers, no time wasted in filling the OMR sheets, etc.

It is possible to crack JEE Main in 3 months with strategic planning and proper time management. Since you have less time, it will be better not to join coaching. Self-study will work better. Concentrate on Chemistry. It is the easiest and most scoring in JEE Main. Join a test series and give regular tests. Analyze the mocks given and work on the areas of your weakness. Solve previous year's questions and model question papers.

Which is tougher, the KVPY or the JEE Main?

Here are some of the factors that differentiate KVPY and JEE Main.
  • JEE Advanced put emphasis on numerically challenging questions, which is not the case for KVPY. However, KVPY and JEE Advanced require a similar amount of conceptual clarity.
  • KVPY aims to test your subject knowledge.  Whereas JEE usually tests the numerical ability of students in core Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
  • Very few students clear both examinations. As the expectations of the students taking these examinations are different.

Both KVPY and JEE Main are difficult but in different ways.

Is NEET tougher than JEE Main?

SB
Shree Banerjee Posted On : June 18th, 2022
B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India

Yes, NEET is more difficult than JEE Main, because of the limited seats. The number of seats in medical institutes is lower compared to engineering colleges, so even though the difficulty level of the questions in NEET is less than in JEE Main, it is more competitive. If you rank lower in JEE Main, you will have the option to opt for private colleges. While most students appearing in NEET, target Govt. medical colleges. Since private medical colleges cost a fortune.

How difficult is JEE Main?

Aditi Yadav Posted On : July 15th, 2022
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IITRPR)

JEE Main papers aren’t too difficult. Any students who prepared for the board thoroughly will be able to score around 92-93 percentile with 2-3 months of preparation for JEE Main. The examination actually tests students' ability to solve the MCQ questions smartly with limited time. There are some difficult questions in the paper. But you can skip those questions and solve the easy one. It will be enough to score well in the examination.

What makes JEE Main hard, is the competition. Every year around ten lakh students take the examination. This is why getting good colleges through JEE Main is difficult.

Your preparation should be top-notch if you are aiming for more than 300. First, go through the NCERT books thoroughly. It will be better if you practice solving JEE Advance problems. JEE Main Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry are relatively straightforward compared to JEE Advanced. So, you will be well-prepared. Solve difficult problems, and make note of the different concepts you learn. Give regular mocks and time-bound tests.

You can’t understand or score well in Physics just by reading some books or solving problems. You will need to understand the concept behind every chapter. Understanding and analyzing concepts will make solving problems easier. Go through Resnick-Halliday-Krane to clear your doubts. There are many books available that you can pick up for practicing problems. HC Verma is a good option for practicing.

Is JEE Main online or offline exam preferable?

SA
Shruti Agarwal Posted On : December 18th, 2021
B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (2021)

Both online and offline modes of JEE Main have their advantages. Here are some of the facts about the online mode.

  • The online mode for JEE Main is held a week later than the offline mode. So, you will get some extra time to prepare.
  • In online mode, you will have the advantage to change your answers.
  • In offline mode, you need to mark your answers more carefully since you can’t change your answer.
  • Although the examination centers usually have enough backup systems, there can be technical issues.
  • In offline you may have a lack of space for rough work and need to optimize accordingly.

In terms of difficulty level, there are no such differences between the two modes. So, you can choose any of these two modes according to your convenience.
