Are NCERT books enough for the JEE Main?

SR

NCERT books cover almost all topics and are sufficient for clearing the cutoff. But you can’t expect decent marks if you are relying solely on NCERT books.

Study coaching modules, standard reference books, along with NCERT, for JEE Main. Also, take plenty of mock tests and practice the previous years' question papers.

You can give JEE Mains six times, over three consecutive years. According to NTA guidelines, a student can attempt both the session of JEE Main 2022. If you are appearing for boards in 2022, you can appear in both sessions of JEE Main in 2022, 2023, and 2024. So, if you aren’t satisfied with the result of first session, you can improve your score in the second attempt.

How do I study for JEE Main?

VI
Visheh Iyer Posted On : May 7th, 2022
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (2022)

The basics of JEE preparation are simple. Clear your fundamentals, practice as many problems as you can, take regular mock tests, and analyze. Here are some thips that can help you score well in the examination.

  • Be aware of your strengths and weaknesses and work to overcome them.
  • Maintain a proper routine. Do what works for you. If you study well at night, don’t force yourself to bed. Study during the night. You will have time to fix your schedule.
  • Keeping 1-2 hours for watching anime or reading books is okay. But try to avoid these if they start to disrupt your study hours.
  • During the last couple of months, fix your schedule. Revise and take mocks. If the examination is scheduled from 9 to 12, take a mock in that time duration every day. That way your brain will be wired to function at its maximum efficiency at that time frame. You will also be able to get rid of the exam jitters.

Last but not least, stay healthy during your preparation.

TM
Trishita Mukharjee Posted On : May 2nd, 2022
B.Tech-M.Tech Dual Degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (2020)

The easiest way to score above 200 in JEE Main is to score more than 95+ in Chemistry. It is the easiest section and involves less calculation. For, preparation go through the NCERT books thoroughly. Go through the previous years' question papers as well, the mark distribution almost remains the same.

Mathematics is scoring too but it takes longer to finish the section. For mathematics, practice as much as you can. Solve coaching materials, Arihant book series, NCERT, and previous year’s questions.

The physics section is often unpredictable. You can follow NCERT, HC Verma to prepare for Physics.

If you prepare well, Mathematics and Physics section should fetch you more than 110+ marks put together. This is the easiest way to score above 200 in JEE Main.
