If you have a choice between Indian Maritime University and Tolani Maritime Institute, you should choose the latter. I have friends from both these institutes. Based on their experiences, I will say Tolani Maritime Institute is better than IMU in terms of facilities, faculties, management, training, placement. According to the recent placement highlights, the placement average is 80%. Some of the major recruiters that visit the campus placements are Teekey, NYK, MSI, etc.
Alliance University does not provide Distance- learning or any course as the courses are full-time and require students’ attention. Alliance University is the best university for B-school with the best management courses in South India and the alliance's flagship program is also MBA with very good faculties and placements offers. As much as I know Distance learning will not help you, because what a student can learn and interact with within a physical classroom, that quality can’t be there in E-learning or distance learning. Alliance University offers 5 specializations in the field of MBA which are, Marketing, Finance, HRM, OM, and International Business. Every specialization has its own merits including which alliance provides field visits, company visits, interactive classroom sessions, debating, and presentation skills, alliance emphasizes all these aspects of a student for the complete growth of a student.
Now, if we will talk about IGNOU, this college offers a distance learning MBA and four post-graduate diploma courses under its school of management.
Here is the list of management courses offered by IGNOU
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
I will suggest you go with Alliance university because the quality alliance provides with best faculties, which no college can provide, and this is the statement that the students of alliance university only say. IGNOU is no doubt a reputed and excellent college but chooses full-time learning over distance learning, as you’ll get many new experiences and learning also. All the best!
IIFT, SP Jain, XLRI, and FMS all four institutes are reputed and counted among the top B-Schools in India. For these institutes, your preference order should be as follows.

Bangalore Institute of Technology will be better in terms of placements. It doesn’t necessarily mean that DSCE offers bad placements, but it's not as good as BIT. According to the recent placement highlights, the average CTC for the institute is around INR 6-8 LPA.
BIT Bangalore fees are also less compared to DSCE. A BE program from BIT costs around INR 2.35 lakhs. But DSCE offers a better campus life.
Colleges like CGC Landran and Thapar are the best and most reputed colleges in the country. Although, if comparing between both of them, according to my friends at CGC Landran, they have more opportunities and exposure. You could get and utilize it to improve your communication skills.
Hence, for improving communication skills and overall personality development, a student should prefer CGC Landran over Thapar University.

Talking in terms of placements both colleges are equal. In terms of tuition fees, the College of Engineering, Guindy is quite cheap. Whereas you will get better exposure at Madras Institute of Technology.
