A few of my friends graduated from USCIT Delhi and IIIT Kota and here are some tips that they shared which can be helpful.
IIIT Kota:
USICT:

At present, USICT is better than IIIT Kota. However, make the proper choice and choose the right one for you.
SIIB Pune IB and SIBM Bangalore B are both highly regarded B-schools that provide fantastic possibilities for recent graduates. It eventually comes down to your personal preferences and career objectives.
SIIB Pune IB has a significant emphasis on International Business and has affiliations with various international colleges, which can be advantageous if you wish to pursue a career in this industry. SIBM Bangalore B, on the other hand, features a more general management curriculum and a broader selection of specializations.
However, when it comes to the reputation and rankings of the institutes, both SIBM Bangalore B and SIIB Pune IB are well respected in the field of management education in India. SIBM Bangalore has routinely been recognized among India's top B-Schools by organizations such as NIRF, Business Today, and Outlook. Similarly, SIIB Pune is a leading B-School in India, with a reputation for excellence in international business education.
With 10 years of experience in a professional field, a person rises upto the mid-senior level in his/her career. He/She has gained a lot of experience in the field. But after certain positions, a person without Management exposure will have a stagnant career and growth will be slow. It is always wise to get an MBA degree from IMT Ghaziabad which will help you rise ranks in the career ladder.
Switching positions will also help across industries because you will have a better understanding of the business aspect of the particular company and the industry as a whole.
The MBA course from ISB or the Indian School of Business specializes in offering Operations and General Management roles. My cousin is from the same B School. She has listed down some reputed companies that offer you Operations and General Management roles.
Apart from these specialty roles are also offered by big firms like Apple and Fung group. Many start-ups offer good packages in Operation and General Management roles. But IIM Calcutta is nowhere behind in this aspect. Both offer equally good roles.
Both Mechanical and metallurgical engineering at Thapar and PEC Chandigarh have their own pros and cons. Let's list them out to opt for the best college for you.
PEC Chandigarh:
Thapar University:
Unless you are into metallurgical sciences it's better to opt for mechanical engineering as you can even jump into both technical and non-technical firms.
Quick comparison:
Particulars |
PEC (Mechanical Engineering) |
Thapar University (Metallurgical and material sciences) |
Entrance exam |
JEE Main |
JEE Main |
Total fees |
6.39 lakh |
8.85 - 17.36 lakh |
Placement rate |

84% |
Highest CTC offered |
15 LPA |
40 LPA |
Average CTC offered |
6.5 LPA |
6-7 LPA |
Out of the above two, ME at PEC seems like a better option. PEC being a government institute has half the tuition fee of Thapar University which saves you a lot. If you plan on an MBA further, it's better to opt the best out of two and start preparing from the first year of your college itself.
Both the above colleges are really good, so you needn’t worry about that front. You need to first decide which field you have an interest in. If you really have an interest in CSE, only then you should go for PEC. Otherwise, mechanical is a very good branch. Moreover, DTU is known for its mechanical department.
If you are really interested in either of the branches, you should go for it, irrespective of the college you choose. You must first check if you are interested in coding/ development or automobiles, etc. But if you can’t judge your interests, you should go for DTU because Delhi life would offer you more exposure and opportunities. DTU Mechanical is an old, developed branch that is very proud of its heritage.
The table below gives a brief comparison of the courses.
Parameters |
DTU |
PEC Chandigarh |
Average CTC |
7.2 LPA |
10 LPA |
Highest CTC |
13 LPA |
42 LPA |
Course Fee |
8.44 lakhs |
3.45 lakhs |
You may ask a DTU as well as a PEC student for their reviews and then decide which college you would like to go for.
Both Avantika University or G.D.Goenka Universityare not mainstream design colleges. It is suggested not to opt for any of the colleges as they are primarily engineering-based and design is the third priority.
The present status of the design department is on the verge of collapsing in both of the institutions. They almost got shut down last year. The number of students was very less and the existing students shifted elsewhere.
Rather than going to Avantika University or G.D.Goenka, you can go to other colleges such as the World University of Design and MIT Pune. These are the institutes you should be joining if you are looking forward to pursuing Designing. Both are mainstream design universities and way better than what you are thinking of.
IET Lucknow is among the top-rated government institutes in the country and it is being affiliated with Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU).
Ramaiah Institute of Technology (RIT) formerly known as M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology is an Autonomous Private Engineering Institute located in Bangalore affiliated to VTU.
The fee structure of both of the colleges is as follows.
Institute | Total fees |
IET Lucknow | INR 3.44 LPA |
RTI | INR 3.20 LPA |
The facilities offered at both institutes are different. The student can explore themselves better at RTI due to its location. Bangalore will offer you much more placement opportunities than at Lucknow.
If you are interested in coding and aim to work in good corporate firms, then it is suggested that you go for CSE at NIT Calicut. But if you want an IIT tag, you can opt for IIT BHU. But this won't matter much afterward.
So, if you are focused on doing research then Chemical Engineering at IIT BHU will be a good option. You can also learn coding on the sidelines, which might be beneficial if you sit for placements.
Parametres | CSE at NIT Calicut | Chemical Engineering at IIT BHU |
Tuition Fee | INR 16,000 | INR 6.7 LPA |
Placement Percentage | 73.5% | 71% |
Average Package | INR 11.57 LPA | INR 16.27 LPA |
The choice of studying in a college pursuing a particular subject is entirely up to you. Check where your strengths and weaknesses lie and then choose accordingly. Both institutes are good in their own way. But it is your hard work and dedication that will prove if CSE or Chemical will be good for you.
Though both PES University and NIT Patna don’t have a sufficient reputation in the industry, NIT Patna can be a better choice because of the NIT tag. Having friends study in both the institutes, here are some things they mentioned -
Categories |
CSE at PES University |
CSE at NIT Patna |
Course Fee |
13.21 lakh |
5.70 lakh |
Highest CTC |
40 LPA |
39-40 LPA |
Average CTC |
12 LPA |
8-12 LPA |
So, these two institutes are not worth considering. There are several options for engineering aspirants in India like IITs, BITS, IIITs, and various other private institutes.
