Should I study IT from IIEST Shibpur or EC from SVNIT?

DB
Devlina Bose Posted On : July 5th, 2021
Studied Computer Science and Engineering at IIEST Shibpur (2019)

IT from IIEST Shibpur is a better choice than EC from SVNIT Surat. Both my classmates and I agree to the fact that IIEST Shibpur is a much better institute than SVNIT. The reasons for the same are given below –

  • It is a common observation that many of the EC engineering graduates eventually work as software engineers, which is not their core domain.
  • IT is very close to CSE in terms of coding and related works. You will definitely learn more in IT rather than EC even if you are interested in software.
  • If you want you can learn software development and coding on your own, then go for the EC branch of SVNIT.
  • But that will require a lot of effort, time management, and discipline.
  • IT at IIEST, Shibpur will also give a mental satisfaction that you are working in the same field as intended while in EC at SVNIT you will probably have to join a job that is not related to your core EC subjects.
  • Even if you are passionate about EC, the faculty in this department at SVNIT are not very good. They are too young for the job.
  • Of course, there will be seniors and various clubs to help you out but faculty are at the core of any teaching system.

Categories

IT at IIEST Shibpur

EC from SVNIT

Course Fee

1.55 lakhs

5.47 lakhs

Highest CTC

42 LPA

17.5 LPA

Average CTC

18 LPA

8 LPA

Recruiting Companies

Microsoft, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, ZS Associates etc.

Amazon, Adobe, JP Morgan, IBM, etc.

If you are really interested in EC then choose SVNIT. But if you are interested in coding and that is the job you want, then definitely IIEST, Shibpur should be your primary choice.

SM
Subham Sundar Moharana Posted On : March 20th, 2021
B.TECH in EEE from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla

VSSUT Burla is a much better option than IGIT Sarang. VSSUT, Burla - Being the Oldest engineering institute in the state, has some of the best faculty, a huge library, and a wide-spread Alumni net.

Discussed below are a few important points about VSSUT Burla.

  • For any branch, VSSUT will be a better option, since it has better placement records, campus infrastructure, clubs, and the cutoff rank is also higher.
  • Most importantly it's autonomous so it has its own examinations and curriculum.
  • If you have any problem regarding something you can directly get in contact with the Vice-Chancellor at VSSUT Burla.

The table below gives a brief overview of the institutes.

What should I prefer, PUMBA or MIT?

SA
Saef Ansari Posted On : May 17th, 2023

Both colleges are excellent if we talk about MBA, and they both give tough competition to each other. If you want a good lifestyle and overall personality improvement along with a decent placement, you should go with PUMBA. But if you are looking for good placements, then you can opt for MIT Pune, which offers an average placement of 7.25 LPA.

One of a student also bagged the highest package of 44.14 LPA. PUMBA, on the other hand, offered an average package of 6.74 LPA in the recent year, and the highest salary offered here was 13.55 lac which is much lower than MIT.

No, IIIT Pune is not better than NIT Kurukshetra. In fact, its unfavorable location has affected the reputation of the college adversely. The institute is nowhere bear Pune city but it's situated in a typical Maharashtrian village. The institute lacks basic amenities such as transport, daily goods, and electricity supply. One of my friends was in a similar dilemma and decided to visit IIIT Pune once. The moment he saw the building and the location, he made up his mind to go for NIT Kurukshetra instead.

Which one should I choose for a B.Tech in CSE, Northcap or Sharda University?

VP
Vipul Pathak Posted On : May 1st, 2021
B.Tech in CSE - Sharda University

Talking about B.Tech CSE, Sharda University can be considered a better choice than Northcap. It is a very well reputed institution in terms of opportunities and respective training sessions in technical sectors for the Global environment.

Academics:

  • Northcap University, which however is not as well ranked as Sharda University, is also incapable of providing the required amount of exposure as needed for the industrial sectors.
  • On the contrary, Sharda University being a greater institution in itself has various tie-ups with other higher organizations and foreign universities.

Faculty:

  • Sharda University is bestowed with extremely friendly and highly professional professors which rather is the greater plus point for any respective stream.
  • Northcap, as even mentioned by some of its students, comes up with a very poor record of having a group of inexperienced and unsupportive professors. The employability you will attain after pursuing B.Tech from Northcap is uncertain.

Sharda University has recorded well for the past few years to provide a good deployment rate in the B.Tech branch. On the upper hand, various organizations like IBM, TCS, Tech Mahindra, and more have arrived occasionally for campus recruitment every particular year, and students of the university are offered 2 LPA to 5 LPA without hesitation.

For those who hold a keen interest in Computers and it’s overall understanding are highly suggested to opt for CSE while for those who are interested in an in-depth study of telecommunication can go for E&TC. • A huge amount of companies visit the campus every year. It receives firms like VMware, Barclays, Adobe, Snapdeal, etc.
  • The highest package for MEDI CAPS stands at 12 LPA while for IET DAVV, it stands at 30 LPA which is quite a big difference.

Campus

  • IET DAVV stands apart when it comes to the campus environment. The College conducts so many events, namely - Engineer’s Day, Welcome Party, Invento, etc.
  • Although both the colleges are in the centre of Indore, IET DAVV’s campus stands apart because it also has a lake which adds to its beauty.
  • IET DAVV is better than MEDI CAPS in terms of extracurricular activities, events as well as college life.

Curriculum

  • MEDI CAPS is a disciplinary institute where you will be fined an amount of 250/- for falling out of line.
  • You do not have to worry much about all of this if you are in IET DAVV, provided you maintain the minimum amount of attendance required.
  • IET DAVV is well known and renowned for its annual cultural fest, Aakshank. Many celebrities like Kailash Kher, Papon, DJ Willy, etc., have visited over the past years.

Overall, it seems that IET DAVV stands as a clear winner but MEDI CAPS has its advantages and offers good education.
