Which should I choose, chemical engineering from NIRMA University, Ahmedabad or electrical engineering from LNMIIT Jaipur?
Nirma University is a private university, recognized and approved by UGC, AIU, and has been accredited grade ‘A’ by NAAC. Admissions to the college are open through both offline and online modes. The college offers B.Tech in Chemical Engineering as a four-year full-time course at a fee of Rs7.24 Lakhs for the full period.
LNM Institute of Technology (LNMIIT) is a deemed university, has been recognized by UGC and approved by AICTE, ARIIA, and AISHE. It has been accredited ‘A’ grade by the NAAC. The college does not provide Electrical Engineering however it provides B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering as a four-year course at a fee of 12.36 lakhs.
Admission Procedure
Nirma University:
- The prerequisite for seeking admission to Chemical Engineering is scoring 55% and more in 10+2 examinations (PCM/B).
- Further, students are shortlisted on the basis of JEE Main or GUJCET scores.
- The course has a total of 60 seats available.
LNMIIT:
- The eligibility criteria for candidates for ECE is 60% marks in their 10+2 examinations.
- Candidates are further selected on the basis of their score in JEE Main.
- The college offers 150 seats for the course.
Infrastructure & Facilities
Nirma University:
- The college is built over a huge 115-acre campus.
- A well-equipped library is on-campus which houses over 1,20,000 books.
- The institute also provides separate hostels for boys and girls with adequate facilities.
- Other facilities such as laboratories, gym, cafeterias, medical facilities, Wi-Fi, air-conditioned classrooms and auditoriums are provided.
LNMIIT:
- The college is built over a massive 100-acre campus.
- The college library is home to a diverse collection of books and journals.
- The college provides in-campus hostels.
- Sporting facilities, laboratories for ECE, cafeterias, a gym, Wi-Fi facilities, recreation rooms, medical facilities students are provided by the institute.
Placements
- Nirma University:The course has a placement rate of 70%. Companies such as L&T, Reliance, and HUL come on-campus for placements. The package offered to students ranges between 2.5LPA and 7LPA.
- LNMIIT:The course has a placement rate of around 85%. Top recruiters include Amazon, Adobe, and Cisco. The lowest package offered is around 4LPA, while the average package is approximately 6.5LPA. The highest package offered to a student may go up to a whopping 13.5LPA.
Both colleges are good choices, however, LNMIIT specializes in engineering courses making it a notch above the other. The college scores higher than Nirma on nearly all parameters. Placements at LNMIIT are far superior as compared to the latter. However, Nirma provides a similar campus at a much lower fee making its return on investment similar to LNMIIT. Making a choice between the two would depend on one's financial preferences.
Why did you choose IIM Bangalore over IIM Calcutta?
Both IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta are excellent B Schools that give an edge to each other in almost every aspect. If ever you see someone choosing one over the other then it’s only because of his/her personal preference because they both are not lacking in any terms.

Is IBS Mumbai good for PG in Finance or BIMTECH Greater Noida?
If you have converted BIMTECH Greater Noida for the core PGDM program, then you should definitely consider this program over the other.
ICFAI Business School (IBS) has many campuses across India; Mumbai, Dehradun, Gurgaon, Bangalore (off-campus Hyderabad), Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur. Out of these, only the Hyderabad campus comes close to BIMTECH Greater Noida.
The average salary offered during the campus placements for the core PGDM 2018-20 batch of BIMTECH Greater Noida is INR 8.27 lakhs per annum. The percentage placements of the overall batch (all the courses) were 96.59%.
If you are really interested in finance and want to build your career in the same, then you can go for IBS Mumbai if you are not getting any other campus. Otherwise, BIMTECH Greater Noida is always preferable.
Is NIT kurukshetra better than BITS goa? (for mechanical engineering)?
I have friends from NIT Kurukshetra, so can give you an idea about the institute. The Mechanical Engineering Department at the institute has good faculties. But, they hardly come up to the class and without their guidance, clearing the exams is tough. If you are choosing NIT Kurukshetra I will advise you to concentrate on your studies as clearing examinations without supplementary examination is challenging at the institute.
Also, Placements are good enough at NITK and you can easily secure a 5-6 LPA package as of now. According to the 2020 placement report the average CTC offered was 10 LPA.
Which is better, J. D. Birla or Shri Shikshayatan College in Kolkata?
I have friends from both J.D Birla and Shri Shikshayatan College. According to their experience, I will that you should choose one of these institutes based on the course you want to pursue. Shri Shikshayatan College is a good option if you want to pursue any Commerce degree. The faculty base for Commerce is quite good. On the other hand, J.D. Birla is well-known for its home-science honours course.
Which is better: Kolkata Medical College or Madras Medical College?
Kolkata Medical College and Madras Medical College both are well-reputed medical colleges. Here is a comparison of the institutes.
- Both institutes offer decent academics. But due to immense political pressure in Kolkata, there are routine interferences.
- There are multiple hostels at both medical colleges. Madras Medical College Hostels are under MCI scanner, so cleanliness is a priority there. At Kolkata Medical College, only the Main boy’s hostel is under MCI scanner.
- Both colleges boast of having one of the best faculties in India.
Both medical colleges were established way back, thus the infrastructural facilities offered are similar.
Which college has better placements, IIM-A or IIM-B (IIM Ahmedabad)? Why so?
IIM Ahmedabad is concerned with the diversity of its pupils. As a result, they must admit a specific number of students from each stream. The average package offered to the top 10% of students during BIMTECH placements 2023 stood at INR 15.86 LPA whereas Students placed with Top 10% of the average package at Great Lakes Gurgaon was INR 14.40 LPA .so in terms of placement, BIMTECH PGDM core is better.
What would you choose between IMT Ghaziabad and IIM Visakhapatnam if you are interested in marketing and have an experience of 2+ years?
If you are interested in marketing with 2+ years of work experience then, IMT Ghaziabad should be your choice. IMT Ghaziabad’s pedagogy has 6 terms, of which 3 terms focused on courses applicable to all students. Once the student enters Term IV after the internship they are offered specialization courses.The exposure to electives helps students gain knowledge and understanding of the marketing domain.
Placements in the marketing domain are the best at IMT Ghaziabad. I have provided a comparative view of the placement statistics of the previous year and this year which shows an increase of 13.4% to last year’s average CTC.
