To understand this better, let’s discuss the pros and cons of both institutes and then draw an opinion.
Pros of SBI PO
Cons of SBI PO
Pros of NMIMS
Cons of NMIMS
My personal opinion is that if you are in the initial stage of your career, SBI PO is a better option but if you are 3-4 years into your career and are looking for an MBA to open more opportunities, then NMIMS is for you.
You must select the parameters; in general, people may believe that IMI Delhi is a better option due to its location and the opportunities it offers. On the contrary, you may come across individuals who would prefer to have the IIM designation regardless of the cost.
So, if you prefer the IIM label above all else, IIM Jammu is the place for you. Nonetheless, given the fact that it is an IIM, there is no doubt about academics.
However, because it is located in the heart of the city, IMI Delhi has established its own legacy over the past 41 years. So, if you can overlook the IIM brand name in favor of the multitude of opportunities to transform your personality, expand your understanding, and have a good time in terms of social and campus life, IMI Delhi is the place for you.
Despite everything, IIM Calcutta is a much better business school overall than IIM Lucknow, regardless of the field. However, if you do not receive an offer from Calcutta, you may consider Lucknow. Some companies may not shortlist you because there will be candidates with far superior academic credentials. However, this is not a sufficient reason to avoid attending an IIM. You will have numerous opportunities to enhance your CV within the b-school through academic performance, winning b-school competitions (which often leads to a direct PPI), participating in PORs and other extracurricular activities, live projects, and so on.
Regardless of your prior academic performance, you will almost certainly be better off with an MBA from IIM Calcutta or Lucknow than without one, assuming you don't waste the two years in b-school doing nothing.
A few of my friends are studying in both colleges and there is absolutely no difference – not even a minute one between the two colleges. Placements are the same and in fact, more students are also getting placed from CUCEK as per what recent surveys have concluded. Additionally, the placement cell for both these colleges is the same and is situated on the main campus.
Probably the only thing that might cause a little bit of hindrance is travel. You might have to travel to the SOE campus every time a company is visiting for hiring or placing students. You will have to go to Ernakulam from Alleppy which is a good 2-hour drive by road. This might pose as a minor set back but the college arranges for this transport so eventually, you will not have any issues.
Coming to placements at CUSAT, about 60 different companies visit the campus for the recruitment drive. So, you will have a number of options to look forward to when you begin applying. As of 2020, about 300 offers were made in the college with the highest CTC of INR 15 LPA and an average CTC of INR 4.7 LPA. The number of placements being offered has increased over the past three years.
Some of the major companies that recruit students include Cisco, TCS, L&T, Tata Steel, and Vedanta.
If placement is your primary concern at CUCEK or CUSAT, you do not need to be worried. You will be a student of a really good university so your future will definitely be bright.
Your job ambitions and personal interests determine whether you should study EMS at Mount Carmel Bangalore or Economics at NMIMS Mumbai.
BSc EMS programme emphasises environmental management, sustainability, and conservation. This programme teaches students how to manage and reduce human impacts on the environment.
A BSc in Economics studies the economy, including production, distribution, and consumption of products and services. This programme gives students a solid economics foundation and analytical abilities they can use in finance, business, government, and academia.
BSc EMS from Mount Carmel Bangalore may be excellent for environmental careers. A BSc in Economics from NMIMS Mumbai may be preferable for economics, finance, or business careers.
The choice depends upon your area of interest and the subjects that you enjoy studying. If you are inclined towards hardware and communication, ECE is the perfect fit for you. But if you like dealing with software, go with CSE. Both fields have ample growth opportunities.
Rather than choosing the institute, you need to select the branch of your interest. Following are the points to be considered.
Fee and Placement:
Criteria | IIIT Guwahati | IIIT Vadodara |
Fee | INR 9 Lakhs | INR 7.83 Lakhs |
Average Package | INR 10.2 LPA | INR 13 LPA |
Highest Package | INR 17 LPA | INR 43.5 LPA |
Placement Percentage | 76% | 100% |
The curriculum of IIIT Guwahati has changed recently. It has adapted many new things which will cultivate skills in the students. Choose the branch that you enjoy. Also, go through the official website of these institutes for in-depth curriculum and campus life.
You should not make a decision based on the placement records of any institute. It should come last on the criteria list. It is a known fact that no college can guarantee you placement. Your decision should be based on your ultimate aim. If coding is your thing, go for IT, ECE, CS, or if you feel that you might someday work at PSUs, go for the core branch.
Comparative Analysis

You should choose the college that provides more and better opportunities so that it becomes easy for you ahead. BIT Sindri has improved its placement opportunities over the years, however, if you want an IIT tag, then choose IIIT Bhubaneswar.
One of my friends studied in NIT Silchar and also has friends in NIT Hamirpur. I asked him the same question and he claimed NIT Hamirpur to be a better choice.
Stating reasons for the same he said:
The major issue that NIT Silchar faces is the connectivity between cities. As a result, many recruiters are interested in coming here affecting the placement scenario and crowd quality largely. NIT Hamirpur on the other hand is located close to Delhibso the exposure r and opportunities are better.
It is determined by the degree you intend to pursue and your objectives in that regard.
Both colleges are well-known in their respective fields, and your choice will be depending on your requirements. Though, if you want to acquire a degree as a regular student, I would recommend Lucknow University, and if you want to get a correspondence degree, I would recommend CSJM University.
Lucknow University has made 75 percent attendance mandatory for UG degrees, which is a wonderful step, but it has also proven to be a bane for working students. So, if you are working, I recommend Kanpur University, otherwise, go for Lucknow University. It also offers decent placement opportunities. The average CTC offered at the institute is 4 LPA.
Lucknow University, while not the finest, but definitely superior to CSJM University.
If you want to either choose between CSE or IT, then going for IIIT Vadodara will be a better option. IIIT Vadodara is a government-run institute, while MIT Manipal is a private university.
Here is a brief highlight of both of the institutes according to the 2020 placement reports.
