Which is better for mechanical through councelling, Rajalakshmi or Panimalar?

BS
Barkha Sharma Posted On : June 22nd, 2021
B.E Mechanical Engineering, Rajalakshmi Engineering College (2016)

Out of the two colleges, Panimalar College is good for Mechanical Engineering. The faculties are well educated and well qualified that deliver the best lectures to promote conceptual learning but the environment is quite strict.

The college offers placement for almost every student with the highest package 15-20 LPA and an average package of 4.5 LPA, as per recent statistics. The fees of the college are also affordable.

Getting admission in Panimalar has an edge over Rajalakshmi in terms of placement, quality of education provided, type of faculty, study environment, and most important of all fee structure. Get out of your comfort zone and search for the various options suitable for you for your holistic development.

Which college is better for an MBA in marketing: NMIMS Mumbai or MICA Ahmedabad?

HS
Harleen Sethi Posted On : March 9th, 2023
MICA PGDM(C) 2018-20

If you are looking for a college with a strong faculty pool, it's worth noting that MICA's faculty pool is better. Their faculty members have done impressive research work, and they've had CXO-level professionals from FMCG, FMCD, Advertising, and BFSI sectors take classes as visiting faculty and guest industry lecturers.

Both MICA and NMIMS have extremely strong alumni networks with alumni in impressive positions and careers. However, if you are interested in marketing specifically, MICA's alumni may be more advantageous as they have traditionally dominated this field.

Regarding placements, NMIMS has a slight advantage in terms of median and average packages. However, it's important to consider that the profiles that come to each college are different. While MICA is well-represented in other sectors, they haven't had consulting companies on campus, while NMIMS has been lagging in Advertising.

The fee and ROI are similar for both colleges, and they have similar student pools. However, a key differentiator is Campus Life. MICA has one of the most beautiful campuses in India, spread across 19 acres with over 3000 trees and well-maintained. In contrast, NMIMS is a typical 7-floor conglomerate office with zero foot space outside the building, and students do not live on campus.

These were essential parameters that mattered to the person who conducted the research, and they ended up selecting MICA over NMIMS. If these factors are important to you, then MICA might be the better choice for you too.

Which one is better for CS: JSSATE, Bangalore or LNCT, Bhopal?

SV
Suman Verma Posted On : September 28th, 2021
Studied at JSS Academy of Technical Education,Bangalore)

Speaking of Computer Science, JSSATE Bangalore is the best option against LNCT Bhopal. The colleges in North India are certainly pretty decent colleges but if you wish to land a high placement package then go for JSSATE.

The degree of freedom and the X-factor you experience in this institute is terrific. The faculties are highly qualified as well as very cooperative. Several esteemed companies visit the college for recruitment purposes every year.

Following are a few points as to why JSSATE would be a better option for college:

  • It is located outside the main city and has a serene beauty and is in a peaceful area.
  • It favors diversity in the campus and offers a great environment in the campus.
  • During the placements, your proficiency in English would lead you through the obstacles, and this institute surely does help one in enhancing their English.
  • The placement opportunities are tremendous, especially in the CSE and EC branches. Mind you, the semester exams here are not to be taken lightly and are set in a different pattern to the North India colleges.
  • They have a decent infrastructure. The hostel, hostel food, and hygiene are all well maintained.

It would be a change you would embrace. Certainly, the best college for CS.

What should be my preference between CSE at IIIT Guwahati and EEE at NIT Patna/Puducherry?

DV
Dishant Verma Posted On : June 18th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Guwahati (2022)

According to my friends at IIIT Guwahati, CSE at IIIT Guwahati is definitely a better choice. Let me provide some points which will give you a better insight into the colleges.

  • The campus of NIT Puducherry is almost 130 km away from the city, located in a remote place known as Karaikal. This hampers placements.
  • In NIT Puducherry, 90-95% of students are from South India. So, students from other parts of the country face a serious linguistic problem.
  • For most North Indian Students, it is somewhat hard to sustain in the South Indian culture.
  • IIIT Guwahati has experienced rapid growth over the last few years, which makes it a much better choice than NIT Patna/ Puducherry.
  • There is no home state quota in IIIT Guwahati, so there is no such problem of linguistics as in NITs.
  • In addition, there are 18 students in IIIT Guwahati who are from abroad, selected through the DASA UG scheme of 18 seats.
  • From 2019, the B.Tech seats were increased by 33% for Girl Supernumerary Quota, because the previous batch had only 3.5% girls. The total number of seats from then is 233.

CSE at IIIT Guwahati

Even after considering the AILET tougher than the CLAT why do most of the top rankers (of both CLAT and AILET) choose NLSIU over NLU Delhi?

JB
Jagat Behera Posted On : September 14th, 2021
Studied B.A LL.B Law & Economic Policy,National Law University,Delhi (2013)

Although AILET is more difficult than CLAT, this does not imply that NLU Delhi is better than NLS.

If you look at the placement reports of both these colleges, NLS has done significantly better than NLUD. The weather is also a big influence here; Bangalore has a pleasant environment, but for Delhi, the weather conditions may become a bit harsh for some times especially during summers.

For your reference, the placement of NLU Delhi for the year 2020 is mentioned in the table below:

Particulars Statistics
No. of Students placed (B.A.LLB) 45
No. of Students placed (LL.M) 8
Median Package offered (B.A.LLB) INR 18 Lakhs per annum
Median Package offered (LL.M) INR 8 Lakhs per annum

You can refer to the placement report NLSIU Bangalore in the table given below:

Particulars Statistics
Students registered for Placements 58
No. of PPO 23
Highest Package offered INR 18 Lakhs per annum
Lowest package offered INR 15 Lakhs per annum
Top Recruiters L&L Partners, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Trilegal, ICICI Bank, Societe Generale etc

If you attend NLUD, you will have incredible opportunities because you will be living in a city with India's best High Court and Supreme Court. On the other hand, Bangalore is an MNC hub, you will get corporate employment and internship opportunities there.

Furthermore, NLSIU is recognized as the "Harvard of the East," implying that this college has surely done something worth the recognition that it receives.

Which course should I choose if I get a chance to study at ISI Kolkata, a B.Math or a B.Stat?

AS
Aniket Sinha Posted On : October 7th, 2021
Studied MS(QMS) from Indian Statistical Institute (2018)

Both B.Stat and B.Math are different courses being offered at different campuses at ISI Kolkata and ISI Bangalore respectively. There are only a few common subjects in both courses.

The choice ultimately depends on your choice and interest. You can go through the syllabus of both courses and understand the topics. Find whichever interests you, you can choose to be research-oriented like B.math students or go for M.stat or other courses, if you choose so.

You can apply for only 1 course because the institute conducts the entrance of both courses at the same time and day. You will be able to appear for only one of them.

Which one is the best GNDU Amritsar or HPU UIIT Shimla?

SM
Santanu Mukherjee Posted On : October 21st, 2021
B.Tech from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (2020)

It entirely depends on which course you are opting for. Generally, in comparison, GNDU Amritsar will have the upper hand over HPU UIIT Shimla on the basis of the institute level and the infrastructure.

GNDU Amritsar has very good infrastructure and facilities. The environment of the institute is very good and well for studies. The seniors present there are helpful too. GNDU Amritsar has also got a huge library which the students can access anytime. The library is fully air-conditioned along with the separate reading rooms. The institute is also famous for its huge achievements in the field of sports.

GNDU offers decent placement opportunities. In 2021, the highest CTC offered was 13 LPA.

Which college should you choose for Operations management: IMT Ghaziabad, IMI New Delhi, or SIOM Nashik?

SS
Sandeep Sahu Posted On : March 14th, 2023
MBA in Marketing & Information Technology, Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (Graduated 2020)

If you had to choose from the options mentioned, it's recommended to opt for a brand name. Your priority should be IMT Ghaziabad, IMI Delhi, and SIOM Nashik.

When it comes to Operations Management, NITIE, and IITs are considered to be top-notch. They offer a comprehensive curriculum, job roles, and industry exposure, making them highly sought-after. In fact, IITs have established their brand in management, specifically due to their expertise in operations. However, when it comes to Operation major, NITIE remains unparalleled, as they have the longest chain of alumni in operations, holding high-level designations for many years.

If operations are still your preferred field, and you don't have any other options apart from NITIE or IITs, then your decision should be entirely based on the brand you are joining.

What should I choose for CSE IIIT Allahabad or VIT?

SA
Subham Agarwal Posted On : April 26th, 2023
Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad

When it comes to IIIT Allahabad, there are a few things that you should know before making a decision: You should choose for CSE IIIT Allahabad over VIT.

  • Firstly, the institution is commonly referred to as IIIT A, despite there being no difference between IIIT and IT. Contrary to popular belief, there is no significant difference between CSE and IT, as the course structure at IIIT A is top-notch and highly regarded in India. You can refer to websites such as Quora to get an idea about the placement statistics and course structure ranking in BRICS, or to clarify any doubts you may have.
  • However, it is important to note that if you are interested in exploring other fields of engineering, you may not receive much exposure at IIIT A. The primary courses offered here are IT and ECE.
  • On the other hand, if you are passionate about coding and aspire to achieve something big in the field of computers, IIIT A is an excellent choice. The institute has a range of technical societies, such as the Competitive Coding Wing, Web Development Wing, FOSS Wing for open source software development, Graphics Wing, Networking Wing, and App Development Wing, among others. These societies provide exposure to all aspects of computer science that you may not find in many other engineering colleges.
  • When it comes to VIT, it is important to note that you may not be able to expect top-notch faculty, as the institution is run by a private organization that does not have to provide feedback to anyone about the people they bring in to teach. This is in contrast to IIIT A, which is a government-funded institution and therefore employs top-notch faculty (although not necessarily the best in India). Additionally, there is an entrance exam, but there is no proper cutoff, and students of all kinds are admitted.
  • If you are a female student, it is important to consider the safety and security measures in place at VIT, as it may be a concern.
  • In terms of exposure to the "coding culture" and other similar things, IIIT Allahabad is a better choice.
  • Finally, it is worth noting that there are students at IIIT A who have qualified by category ranks that may differ by 10,000. While this is not a significant proportion, it is worth considering if you are concerned about reservations.
