Which one should I choose for a PG in pediatrics, CMC Ludhiana or DMCH Ludhiana? What about the stipend in these two?

sd
saptarshi dutta Posted On : September 25th, 2023

Both Christian Medical College CMC Ludhiana and DMCH Ludhiana are well-respected institutions for postgraduate studies in pediatrics. However, I recommend that you go for DMCH Ludhiana as it’s the most coveted medical college in Punjab owing to its top-notch infrastructure, clinical exposure, and the expertise level of faculty.

CMC Ludhiana too is an excellent medical college but the only drawback is that it’s a minority-based college so the seats in open merit are rare. It’s known to have the best Pediatrics department, so it’s an excellent choice too given that you have no financial constraints.

Lastly, I don’t think you should be choosing or evaluating colleges based on the stipend they pay. AIIMS pays the highest stipend but is that the reason it’s the dream college of many? Well, no. So it’s better to look at the bigger perspective and make a well-rounded decision.

How is NIT Raipur for biomedical engineering?

VR
Vivek Rathore Posted On : September 12th, 2023
B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Raipur (2016)

Biomedical Engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the manufacturing of instruments that would serve medical sectors. So, if you have even a slight interest in Medical Science, go for it. If not, I suggest you consider other options.

I feel choosing Biomedical Engineering is actually a bold decision as most engineering aspirants have a sheep mentality and prefer branches like CSE and IT only although they have no interest in them. All they care about are placements and many even regret later in life.

The sad truth is there is very little scope for the Biomedical branch in India and the placement opportunities are limited. The government also does not invest much in this field and only a handful of companies hire the students of this branch. Last year 21 offers were made to 37 students of the branch.

Overall, NIT Raipur is a decent choice for Biomedical as there are several research options too.

What are the major areas I need to focus on for cracking CEED and NID for MDes?

TM
Tathoi Moitra Posted On : January 14th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Design (2018)

Considering the syllabus for cracking CEED and NID can be quite difficult, it is important to be practical about your approach. Simplify your practice and do not overdo any particular module. You should study the different elements of design along with current affairs.

Some tips that may be helpful in preparation are given below.

  • In order to understand the requirements, it is essential to be updated on the syllabus thoroughly and get a good understanding of the pattern and marking scheme. A good practice will be to gather papers from the past 5 years of NID and CEED and begin solving them.
  • Part A will have a combination of Numerical answers, MCQ’S and Multiple select questions. Once that is cleared, Part B will entail different aspects of Sketching, Creativity, Form and Visual sensitivity, and Design problem identification. Understand and practice all these aspects to get a good idea of the type of questions that can be asked.
  • Once you have a good idea about the question pattern, you can attempt these papers and try to solve them within the 3-hour timeframe of the exams.

Practicing papers from previous years regularly is the best way to go about successfully preparing for NID and CEED examinations.

What kind of difficulties for north Indian students will come in IIT Madras or IIT Hyderabad or IIT Hyderabad?

Vinisha Vasudevan Posted On : May 20th, 2023

My friend hails from Mumbai and was a student in IIT Madras. She claimed that the weather in Chennai is always hot and humid which can be very frustrating at times. But after a few months, you get used to it and it is not that big of an inconvenience.

IIT Madras has both south as well as north Indian messes so students rarely face any issues regarding it. A number of canteens are there that provide food satisfying taste buds in every corner of the country.

Locals in Chennai cannot speak Hindi and you will find most of them talking either in Tamil or broken English, locals don't speak Hindi. So the language barrier might be a bit troublesome especially when you are out and want to explore. It’s advisable to learn some basic Tamil.

Although IIT Madras welcomes a mixed bag of students, the majority comprises South Indians. However, there is no bias in academics toward South Indians at IIT Madras.

All in all, I refuse to believe that the institute is partial toward South Indians. In fact, you will find many friendly South Indians here at IIT Madras.

What will be the scope of an M.Tech in RGPV University?

AK
Amit Kumar Posted On : November 3rd, 2022
Studied at Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal

Pursuing M Tech from RGPV university will not bring very favourable results. This is because the facilities are not of premium quality. Lack of good quality equipment will not let you complete the project appropriately. And most importantly this university is very lacking when it comes to placements.

If you are willing to pursue M Tech then go for M Tech in IIT or top NITs like NIT Surathkal, NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal. These universities will provide benefits like well-informed faculty, study material, and elaborate funds for big projects. You may even go abroad for research programs.

I am working in a public sector bank for the last 8 years. What are my chances to grab a seat in ISB Hyderabad based on my profile?

HN
Hardik Nagar Posted On : February 15th, 2023
Software Engineer at Infosys Limited (2018–present)

To secure admission to ISB, having relevant work experience in a non-engineering background can work to your advantage, as it offers diversity in the applicant pool. However, having a solid resume that highlights your achievements and performance over the past 8 years is equally important.

The admissions committee places significant emphasis on the resume in the selection process. In addition, a strong GMAT score can also be a factor in your favor. To increase your chances of being admitted to ISB, focus on both your resume and GMAT preparation.
