Do people from MDI Gurgaon get to work abroad?

SS
Sareem Sarath Posted On : February 23rd, 2023
PGPM from Management Development Institute, Gurgaon (2017)5y

Yes, students from MDI Gurgaon PGDM program get to work abroad through the exchange program offered. If you go through the LinkedIn profiles of the alumni, you will find more than 3000 working outside India. This hints at the vast opportunities offered to MDI students to work abroad.

During summer internships, companies like Coke, Godrej, and Dabur send their interns abroad for projects. The Tolaharan group has also sent many students outside for jobs. A few alumni working in consulting firms like EY also work on a project in the London office.

Consulting firms usually cater to foreign and domestic clients separately. For instance, Deloitte India and Deloitte US deal with national and international clients respectively. So if you are working in Deloitte US you will be dealing with foreign clients. Another big name Bain Capability Center(BCC) deals with foreign clients and comes to the campus to offer jobs that require you to travel abroad.

We can safely conclude that MDI Gurgaon students get a plethora of opportunities to work abroad.

I have 90% in 10th, 93% in 12th, and 60% in graduation. Do I have a chance of getting into XLRI?

AG
Ayantika Ghosh Posted On : June 9th, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Indore (2019)

XLRI can be achieved by converting the XAT scores. But for that, the score must be higher than the 99.4 percentile. If the conversion is not the priority, then an interview call could be thereby obtaining a higher 98 percentile. So learn the priorities well.

  • XLRI doesn't have high criteria and cut-offs like IIMs have.
  • They don't focus on academics as such.
  • The main thing is that a student should pass and qualify the sectional requirements and should be able to attain the overall percentile.
  • Once attained, the interview process would be started.
  • The results will be based on the performance of the interview. Make your interview count.

There is less weightage of work experience also. The experience doesn't matter that much. But to have the knowledge and experience in one's own domain will lead you to explore the subject more and go into the depths.

How is PGDMFM in ITM Navi Mumbai?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : July 14th, 2023

I completed my PGDM in Financial Markets from ITM Navi Mumbai in the year 2022. I am currently working as an Asset Desk Manager at HDFC Bank. The average package for my branch during the 2022 placements stood at INR 6.5 LPA.

In PGDM FM, your hard work matters the most. A trading lab is provided which helps us to learn more about trading. Most companies come to the campus offering a sales profile. ITM Navi Mumbai is not among the top business schools, so if you want to go for research or technical analysis, you will need to work hard.

The professors possess a good knowledge of their field. They are very helpful and friendly. It is you, however, who will have to take the initiative.

Go for Financial Markets if you are motivated and wish to pursue research. Otherwise, you can go for other PGDM specializations offered by ITM Navi Mumbai according to your goals.

Which is better, Kanpur civil or IIT BHU electrical?

A
Admin Posted On : June 12th, 2024

Both IIT BHU and IIT Kanpur are one of the best and oldest institutes in India. But according to me IIT Kanpur is better than IIT BHU here are some reasons:

  • IIT Kanpur generally ranks higher than IIT BHU in the NIRF rankings. As of the most recent rankings IIT Kanpur is usually within the top 5 engineering institutes in India and IIT BHU typically ranks between 10 to 15.
  • Both IIT Kanpur and IIT BHU have excellent placement records. Electrical Engineering at IIT BHU has placement records with an average CTC is 18 lakh whereas Civil Engineering at IIT Kanpur also has strong placement statistics with an average CTC is 22 lakh.
  • When it comes to research education and course curriculum IIT Kanpur is better than IIT BHU.

Considering the above points I could say go for IIT Kanpur over IIT BHU. Although, it depends on personal choice.

Which are some of the popular restaurants near IIIT Allahabad and how far are they?

SG
Shinjhini Ghosh Posted On : March 9th, 2021
BA from Delhi University

This question can be answered thus: even though IIIT Allahabad is an esteemed institute in the top 100 list of the NIRF Engineering colleges rankings, and with a placement rate of above 95%; its shortcoming is its location. Yes! The institute is located in a rural landscape with no good i.e. popular restaurants nearby. Here are the particulars:

  • The IIIT Allahabad institute is located in Deoghat (Jhalwa) village. So you'd have to walk more than two to three kilometers to find any decent restaurant.
  • Although if you're willing to travel into the city area, up to 8-9 kilometers away from the location, you'd find plenty of good eateries in Civil Lines (CL).
  • You'll see that most of your seniors and batchmates will be out during weekends to go to CL for a dining experience at KFC, McDonald's, or Domino's; away from the mess food.

Not only this, there are good theatres like the PVR cinemas at Vinayak City Centre. If you're fine with a desi-eating experience, then Malik's Dhaba should be your place to eat delicious parathas near the college. Also, 16 Kms away from the Yamuna Bridge is the Baba Ka Dhaba, structured in the highway Dhaba style, and if not that, then a forest-themed restaurant known as Friends Forever is the closest to IIIT Allahabad, just 300 meters away. You can check online and see reviews to further your research.

IIMs, FMS, and XLRI are among the top management institutes in the country. They were able to establish a brand while the competition was quite low and there are several causes that distinguish these top b-schools, which are stated below:
