What's a typical day in the life of a IIMABC/XLRI student?
A typical day at IIM ABC or XLRI is different for different people. The student crowd of these institutes includes all types of students. There are students who are only interested in academics and speads most of their types studying. The typical routine is different for students who are equally interested in academics as well as extracurricular. Each day at these institutes will bring some kind of challenge. You will have to do your assignment, prepare for case studies, study for surprise quizzes, and also keep up with the co-curricular. You will need to prioritize tasks according to urgency and often sleep will come last on the list.
What are my chances for IIM B,C or XLRI BM if I score 99.5%+ in CAT and XAT?
If you have a 99.5+ percentile in CAT, you have a good chance to get selected in IIM A, B, C, or XLRI. One of my friends was in a similar situation and these points helped him understand the proper requirements to get an interview call from these institutes.
- An overall good academic profile is definitely required. Mostly, the academics of college, 10th and 12th are considered.
- In IIM interviews, there are several candidates with 90+ percentages in 10th and 12th, and 80+ percentages in engineering.
- So, good academics can make a huge difference.
- Candidates in the SC category even get seats in IIM A, B, C, XLRI, etc with a 95+ percentile score in CAT and with some high academics.
- So, the 99.5 percentile for an SC student is an excellent score.
- During the initial shortlisting, sports and other extracurricular activities don't matter much. But, in interviews, it can turn out to be an important point of discussion. For summer and final placements, extra-curricular definitely helps a lot.
- For the rest of IIMs, 90+ percentile is a sufficient score. There are several students with 91-92 percentile and got admission in IIM L, I, and K. So, the chances of new IIMs to shortlist such a candidate is very high.
- For XLRI, the score required for Business Management is 96 percentile, and for Human Resource Management, it is 93/ 94+ percentile in XAT. So, a student with a 99.5 percentile is sure to get shortlisted.
Getting 99.5 percentile in CAT/ XAT is not an easy task, and requires a lot of hard work, dedication towards studies, and a never-give-up attitude. Such a score has good chances in all the top Business Schools in India.
Is PGIMS Rohtak good for the USMLE? Are there any students preparing for the USMLE at PGIMS Rohtak?
A medical college plays no role in your USMLE preparation. You have to chalk out the resources that work best for you and study with dedication. Focusing on your basics is important for your USMLE.
As far as PGIMS Rohtak is concerned, it is a reputed medical college. Students from this college have cleared their USMLE in the past. You’ll get good mentors at PGIMS.
But even students from lesser-known colleges clear their USMLE and secure a residency in the US. Some don’t even have any seniors for guidance. However, even without good mentors, the internet is always at one's disposal.
So basically, your effort alone will decide your USMLE success or failure.

What is the admission process for nitie?
The admission process will differ depending on the course you are applying for. If you are planning on joining PGDIM, here is the basic admission process:
- Appear for CAT.
- Write a few essays and pay the fee when the application form for NITIE becomes available.
- Wait till you get shortlisted as it depends on your CAT percentile, your essays, and finally, your profile.
- If you get shortlisted, you will have to appear for a group discussion and another personal interview round.
- If you do really well, you will be given a seat at NITIE or you will be put on a waitlist. If your case is the latter, rest assured. The lists move relatively quickly since a lot of good candidates apply to multiple top b-schools.
- After you qualify for your admission, you will be given a short window of a few days to pay the fees. Your seat will be confirmed then.
- Your classes will begin around mid-June.
It is a relatively simple process. Just ensure that you give your best in your essays, the personal interview, and ground discussions rounds. These would be the deal breakers for your admission.
What is the amount of cash prize one gets in RGUHS convocation if he or she gets first rank in MBBS subjects?
You will get a cash prize of INR 50,000 in RGUHS convocation if you have secured the first rank in MBBS subjects. The criteria followed for an award of gold medal or cash prize is as follows:
- Pass with the highest marks (in each of the examinations of a given course) on the first attempt.
- Secured first division.
- Scoring no less than 65% of marks.
If there are no first-class during any particular year, only a cash prize will be given to the candidate who passed in 2nd class but secured the highest marks. The medal is then not provided.
Is it worth doing an MTech in IT at NIT Raipur?
Unless you are getting MTech in top IITs and NITs, NIT Raipur is a decent choice. The MTech in Information Technology has been recently started and is one of the highly coveted programs.
The eligibility criteria for the M.Tech program is - 60% in graduation and qualified GATE or CCMT.

The Bachelor of Business Administration program at NMIMS is pretty good and ranks 3 across the country. My brother completed his BBA from NMIMS Mumbai in 2016 and during his time the average package was INR 3 LPA. Currently, the median salary is INR 4.8 LPA. What kind of roles do Google, and Facebook hire from management institutes like IIM Ahmedabad IIM Bangalore, and IIM Calcutta?
Google pays a visit to the campus and offers two positions. It's either Product Management (PM) or Marketing. However, both positions may not be available every year. It is determined by the state of the economy, the requirements, and the campus-Google relationship. The project manager position is more desirable than the marketing position.
This year, it hired from IIM C for positions such as industry manager, account manager, and account strategist. Infosys' international positions are for its client-servicing group. All of these candidates will be based in the United States or London. GE Capital and Baring Private Equity are two other recruiters.
