What should be written in research proposal IIT Madras Direct PhD?

RB
Ranjini Banerjee Posted On : March 30th, 2023
Research Scholar at Indian Institute of Technology, Madras

This answer is based on the assumption that you already have an experience of research in your previous degree in a particular area of interest and you are willing to expand it through Ph.D. The research proposal should be based on this area of expertise only and the prescribed word limit should be followed. A research proposal for a Direct Ph.D. program at IIT Madras should include:

  • A clear and concise statement of the research problem or question
  • A review of the relevant literature and current state of knowledge on the topic
  • A description of the research methods and techniques that will be used to investigate the problem
  • A detailed plan for data collection and analysis
  • A discussion of the expected outcomes and contributions of the research to the field.

Let me explain this with the help of an example. You have a previous Master's degree in Biotechnology with work experience in cell culture. But you want to expand your research in cancer. Write a detailed idea of what, how, and why you are willing to conduct research in this field.

Your proposal will give a better picture of your research expertise and your level of knowledge to the panels and they will evaluate you based on your previous degree score, GATE score, written exam score, and viva performance apart from the proposal.

The research proposal primarily helps you in short-listing the professors under which you will work based on their area of research. You don’t need to be working on the topic you wanted and might have to work on the professor's research work.

Your proposal should portray your area of research work that is possible to be completed in 2-3 years.

How is the experience at the EPBM program offered by IIM Calcutta?

PM
Prashant Mantri Posted On : November 28th, 2022
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (Graduated 2020)

My friend has undertaken this course and shared her experience with the same.

  • The course is not for those who come with false expectations like placement offers and switching jobs. Basically, it accelerates your career and does not change it.

  • The eligibility criteria for the course is not very tough so you can see all kinds of people here. Some might even crib the course.

  • If you are already working in the technology field and earning average or above average and have no intentions of switching industries, then this course will be of little use to you.

  • This course is only for learning or if you want to decide on your MBA.

  • This course is only a certification and not a degree program.

  • The faculty of this course is top-notch and renders premium quality classes.

  • After completion of the course you'll get access to the community of alumni of LDP courses.

So you need to check your priorities before enrolling for this course. Make it solely a learning experience and you are good to go.

If you followed the correct procedure and submitted all of the necessary documents, your degree should be delivered within six months. It usually takes between 5 and 6 months.

RGPV University is the best place to get a degree quickly. You can apply for it by providing a genuine reason why you require your degree as soon as possible. The degree would then be delivered to your door.

How much percentage is required in each semester to get an overall B.Tech 75 percentage in JNTUH ?

HJ
Hirdekh Jain Posted On : August 8th, 2023
Studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2016)

If you are aiming for 75% at the end of your B.Tech from JNTUH, you need to maintain an aggregate of 75% in every semester. This may become challenging because not every semester allows you to score 75% easily. In case for a semester you score less than 75%, work harder and get a really good percentage like 80% in another semester which has better prospects in order to cover up.

One is never guaranteed an excellent score in the JNTUH exam. The checking might be tough or lenient for a particular exam, it is a matter of luck. Sometimes when you expect really good scores, you might end up scoring less, and vice versa. Your lab exams are equally important. A good score in them will definitely work to increase your percentage in the finals.

Thus, with proper planning and hardwork, you can score 75% overall in your B.Tech from JNTUH.

Which is better, IIT Indore, BITS Goa or NIT Trichy/Surathkal for CSE considering foreign internships, infrastructure, placement opportunities and quality of life?

Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : June 20th, 2023

The CSE branch is one of the most coveted branches today and every institute offers a good CS program with the best job prospects. What matters is the coding culture, opportunities, and placement opportunities of the institute.

The CS departments of IIT Indore, NIT Trichy, and Surathkal have 100% placement. The students can easily expect a package of around INR 25-30 LPA. Top companies like Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, E Shaw, Amazon, Infosys, Google, L&T, TCS, Cisco, etc visit IIT Indore and provide excellent placement opportunities to its students.

Among the new IITs, IIT Indore has the best coding culture owing to the high programming competition here. IIT Indore students regularly participate in GSoC and it has also represented India at ACM-ICPC World Finals.

Among the aforementioned institutes, IIT Indore is the best option for you. Moreover, the IIT tag is very beneficial to secure foreign internships and higher education in foreign universities.

The general preference order would be

IIT Indore > NIT Trichy > NIT Surathkal > BITS Goa.

Also, do remember, the “IIT” tag is very helpful for foreign internships and for further education in some distant land.

How do I calculate the percentage from CGPA in VSSUT?

SM
Subham Sundar Moharana Posted On : October 12th, 2023
B.TECH in EEE from Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla

Every university follows a different conversion formula. The formulae for calculating percentage from CGPA at VSSUT is

(CGPA - 0.5)* 10.

Let’s understand Tbus through an example. If your CGPA is 7.5 CGPA, the percentage will be

(CGPA-0.5)* 10

(7.5-0.5)* 10

7*10=70%

To convert SGPA into a percentage, multiply the SGPA by 10. For instance, if the SGPA is 8.4, then the percent will be 8.4*10=84%.
