NIT Sikkim is one of the 10 newly sanctioned NITs built by the Government of India. Here is what you need to know about the EEE branch at the institute.
- NIT Sikkim started with CSE, ECE, and EEE branches. In the subsequent years, Mechanical, Civil, and Biotechnology were added. As evident, Electrical and Electronics Engineering is one of the oldest branches in the institute. It has been providing quality education to its undergraduates over the years.
- The Department of EEE has good facilities of labs and an excellent curriculum. The placement is also good enough with great offers from PSUs like Power Grid Corporation Ltd too, along with several private-sector jobs. The average CTC offered at the institute is 8 LPA.

Which one is better IT/Electronics from HBTU Kanpur or CSE from BIET Jhansi?
You should definitely go ahead with HBTU for IT and Electronics. Here are some of the reasons for this:
- HBTU is a far better institute as compared to BIET when it comes to parameters like faculty, placements, and infrastructure as well the crowd.
- If you are mainly concerned regarding placements, at HBTU you will get a larger pool of companies to apply to as compared to BIET. To put things into perspective, you will get all companies that visit BIET for CS at HBTU and many more.
- Faculty and seniors wise, HBTU is definitely much better. It is in a better city to live in and also has a really good campus.
- IT and Electrical Engineering are two separate branches at BIET. Both of them are self-financed as BIET runs it on its own budget. It does not get the regular status with the other branches at BIET. Moreover, you will also notice that the fees are higher as compared to others.
- HBTU will also be a much more logical choice. Taking admission here is also a smooth process.

Always choose a better college overlooking for a branch. This is mainly because companies visit colleges based on their popularity, quality of students, and status.
Which is better for CSE/IT, IIT Gandhinagar or IIIT-Allahabad?
My friend studies at IIIT Allahabad. He considers it better than most of the IITs out there. If you are not after the IIT tag, go for IIIT Allahabad. However, both these institutions have an equally great reputation as eminent institutes of India.
You may want to consider the following points as well, before deciding.
- IIITA is an INI vide IIIT Act 2014 and IIT Gandhinagar is INI vide IIT Act 1961.
- IIITA is well known for its IT program. Its placements have been excellent as well, in terms of consistency. In 2019, the placement rate was 95% and in 2020 it was 96%.
- More than 120 companies have visited IIIT Allahabad over these years.
- The institute also has a group of erudite faculty members which are quite helpful in the provision of support throughout the academic program. Some of my friend's favorites are BSS, Sanyal, Nandi, and others. The director of the department P Nagbhushan has been elemental in bringing in excellent faculty members who have been dedicated to the program, unlike IIT Gandhinagar.
- The coding culture is brilliant here as well, because of which you can get placement offers with good companies.
- The funding by the government is a hefty INR 72 crores for a single year for two branches; which is more than enough for IT.
Moreover, a lot of new departments are being constructed as BH5 7 floors building. The institute will rise in the years to come according to the plan charted by MHRD which includes the addition of startups, MOOCs, and employment of faculty members from countries abroad.
How hard is it to get an international placement after pursuing B.Tech IT from MPSTME NMIMS Mumbai?
L&T Infotech, Mu Zigma, accenture are few of the companies that visit MPSTME Nmims for programs across their engineering division. College has regular bulk recruiters that will recruit 50-60 students. The median package is around 8-9 LPA for BTech with highest package of 21 LPA. MPSTME homes more than 300 companies for its placement process and although majority of them recruit for Indian locations, there are a few companies that provide international placement. And if you have worked on your resume well, no one stops you from applying to your dream company. We have examples of students bagging international offers from even tier 3 and tier 4 colleges in India. So the probability of getting your dream offer is not so dim afterall.
