What is Burdwan University like for an MSc?

AD
Arindam Dutta Posted On : September 28th, 2021
Completed B.Sc. in Physics Hons,University of Burdwan in 2020

It is not a good place if you want to pursue M.Sc as it falls short in faculty. The competition among students is very low. Everyone is just after the marks and not learning anything of substance.

The hostels are also very bad and seminars are held there. You will not be given exposure to the opportunities that your courses can bring about. Placement is an alien topic for them. The success rate at the national level is zero.

How is the MSc psychology program in Jain University?

RR
Ranita Roshan Posted On : July 19th, 2021
Studied B.Sc from MIT

M.Sc Psychology has good reviews in general, but it is not preferred to pursue it from Jain University. Psychology these days is expanding tremendously as people are realizing the need for therapy and mental health. Jain University students will not be able to compete with those of any other college.

  • As per my friends’ experience, you will be given 50 PPTs in total to mug up the course material. It might contain good information but it is not enough for the postgraduate level.
  • In terms of knowledge and growth, Jain University is not the place to.
  • The general environment is relaxed, even attendance isn't an issue. However, they are not goal-oriented and do not offer any help with placements either.

If you're interested in psychology then prepare for entrances facilitated by Delhi University, AMU, Hyderabad University or JNU, or any other top university. You should find someone on LinkedIn who has already qualified for the program at Jain University and is employed in the domain of your choice.

What is better to do M.Sc. from CFTRI Mysore or M.Tech from abroad?

RG
Rajit Ghosh, Posted On : November 22nd, 2021
B.Tech in Food Science and Technology & Food Business Management, National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) (2020)

An MSc. from CFTRI Mysore is considered to be one of the best for food technology in India. It has been the pioneer in providing quality education in food. But you need to keep in mind that it is a government institution. Therefore it has its own limitations, in terms of research, funds and several other things.

On the other hand if you choose to go abroad, your guide has full autonomy for the funds. They take the responsibility of spending the money and what projects to pursue or not. It is known that colleges abroad have better facilities and better working conditions. Indian institutes lack this although they have state of the art facilities but they are of no match for the colleges abroad.

Also, the hard work you will put in to get into CFTRI is much more than getting admission in any college abroad. They also provide better returns. If your financial background is good you can then choose to go abroad rather than studying in India.

How is Kurukshetra University for MSc in chemistry?

SR
Srinjini Roy Posted On : October 20th, 2021
studied Computer Science at Kurukshetra University (2017)

I have a friend who completed his M.Sc in Chemistry from Kurukshetra University. He advises against joining the institute. According to him, it’s better to prefer a central university or an IIT for your M.Sc degree.

Only the Organic Chemistry department is good. The other departments of Chemistry are not that great. The research culture is also not that effective. Only the first year of your M.Sc degree will be worth it. The final year is more like a formality at Inorganic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry department.

SK
Shefali Khatri Posted On : October 11th, 2021
Completed B.E. Computer Science and Engineering from Jiwaji University in 2020

Honestly speaking, pursuing M.Sc in physics at Jiwaji University is a very good idea. Some of my friends graduated from here and are doing quite well.

  • The department of physics, like many of the other departments, has a very good reputation.
  • You will be in an environment that is suitable for research and the professors are not only capable but friendly as well.
  • The professors are talented and have years of educational experience.
  • Most of the professors are alumni of IITs and also have PhDs from reputed universities.

For pursuing M.Sc in physics, candidates have to appear in an entrance exam. They will be selected on the basis of their score in the same. The combined fee for all semesters for M.Sc in physics is INR 27,580.

Is it possible to prepare govt exams with parallel M.Sc Chemistry at Acharya Nagarjuna University? Please give suggestions about time management.

CS
Chestha Singh, Posted On : October 30th, 2021
M.Sc. Chemistry, University of Mysore (2020)

Preparing for a government exam parallel with M.Sc Chemistry, is a bit tough. Here are some reasons as to why it could become difficult.

  • You will have 4 days of lab class including physical, organic, inorganic and analytical lab.
  • You will have assignments to write, records to be completed, and seminars you need to attend and prepare for.
  • You will have to prepare for C-1 and C-2 internals.
  • Try maintaining a proper schedule, plan your activities beforehand.
  • If your classes become strict you will hardly get enough time to study during the day. But make time either early morning or late at night.
  • Make a to-do list as you are preparing for competitive exams.
  • Make daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals and stick to them.
  • If you are traveling try to use the time effectively by reading inorganic theory concepts or try solving previous year’s government exam questions.
  • Usually in chemistry most of the organic and inorganic are heat-related experiments.

If you have free time, utilize it by visiting the library and reading books on inorganic chemistry. You could also complete your assignments to stay a bit ahead.

You will be left with 4-5 hours because of your M.Sc. but it is still sufficient, as you can study effectively between these hours. Make short notes and focus one day on revision, do mock tests to analyze your strengths and weaknesses and work on them.

Is Jiwaji University Gwalior good for an M.Sc. in chemistry?

YM
Yash Mathur Posted On : October 11th, 2021
Completed B.Tech from Jiwaji University in 2020

The Department of Chemistry of Jiwaji University Gwalior has some of the best labs in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The alumni network does not let any of the graduate students sit idle and waste their time.

A lot of the students, however, do not have respect for the university as the pattern of the exams is not regular and the classes are just as irregular.

There are usually 10 available seats and selection in this college is carried out on the basis of an entrance exam. Here the fees are much more reasonable than other colleges. If you study here, you may not get the best exposure but if you work hard, you could have the chance of succeeding also.

Which is better ICE at Nit Trichy or bits Goa msc mathematics?

AC
Anita Chakroborty Posted On : August 24th, 2021
Studies Mechanical Engineering at BITS Goa

I have friends pursuing courses you mentioned above at either institute. Based on the discussion I have with them, here is what should be best for you,

  1. The institutes can be considered quite equivalent to one another, but BITS Goa has an upper hand.
  2. M.Sc at BITS Goa can be specialized following the first year, during which you will be allocated a B.E course depending upon your CGPA.
  3. With a 6 CGPA, you can get Mechanical Engineering, which is quite an easy job. In contrast, it is better than ICE.
  4. However, if your scores are high enough then you might get a seat in CSE.
  5. By the end of 5 years, you will be receiving a B.E and an M.Sc degree, which is nonetheless a smarter choice.

However, the fees at BITS Goa are quite a lot.

Should I take NIT Surat for mechanical engineering or BITS Goa for an MSc in maths?

RS
Riya Siyar Posted On : August 24th, 2021
Studies M.Sc in Mathematics at BITS Pilani, 2021

There are different viewpoints for the same question. It primarily depends upon what is best for you, and whether or not the course you are willing to take interests you.

One of my friends encountered a similar problem likewise, and addressing the same, here are some points you might want to consider before diving into any conclusion,

  1. A dual degree in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry is claimed as a part of Science, while others are considered in the case of Engineering. You will learn the theories of science instead of the application of technology.
  2. In Mathematics, you are supposed to learn the series of higher-order and their respective application. While, in Mechanical Engineering, you will learn more deeply about Engines, Boilers, Automobiles, Refrigerator Systems, and much more.
  3. A single degree, like Mechanical Engineering, CSE, EE, Civil Engineering, or Chemical Engineering, can be more advantageous than dual degrees.
  4. If you opt for a dual degree in Mathematics, you have a higher probability of becoming a mathematician or a professor. But, in case you pursue Mechanical Engineering from NIT Surat, then you bear higher chances of securing a placement offer at top-tier MNCs.
  5. Your choice should always remain ahead of most others. The one piece of advice is that in NIT Surat, you supposedly cannot change your degree from M.Sc to B.Tech following the 1st year and vice versa.

You should research the same for BITS Goa and find whether or not the rule is similarly applicable in the institute. This is the basic difference you can find between both institutes.

MC

MCA from Chandigarh University

You should choose Chandigarh University for an M.Sc in Chemistry.

  • The department has state-of-the-art laboratories to perform practicals for Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry.
  • CU used teaching aids such as PPTs, Models, Animated Videos, Charts, etc.
  • Many activities are organized throughout the academic year to encourage learning outside the classroom.
  • The faculty pool for Chemistry is excellent.
  • CU encourages students to publish research papers during their last semester.

In terms of academics, learning resources, and facilities, CU will be better than HPU.
