Dr. Sarla Sharma is the Head of the Business Administration Department at Kanoria PG Mahila Mahavidyalaya. She is also the Vice-Principal Commerce in the college. She has worked as a Lecturer in Kanoria PG Mahila Mahavidyalaya for 17 years and was later promoted to HOD in the year 2012. She has received the Certificate for Award to the education sector by the HLM Group of Institutions in 2019 in an international conference on “Emerging Global Trends and Its Implications in Social Economy held in HLM Group of Institutions – Delhi Meerut Road Ghaziabad, UP.

What are your roles and responsibilities?

“To focus on self-development of students and inspire them”

One of my responsibilities is to inspire students for creativity. It helps to develop a self-study on them. They can explore knowledge and achieve a skilled education. Students can explore a positive work environment effectively. 

How do you establish healthy relations with students and faculty?

“Adopt open communications and management styles on campus”

The department manages smoothly through healthy relations of staff members. We adopt open communication and participative management in college. The faculty can openly discuss issues. Student-centric learning is taught by Class committees, Class Advisors, and Faculty Advisors. Students discuss every issue with teachers and HOD. 

How do you bring a practical approach towards subjects as industry-oriented?

“Internships and practical learning are available for students”

We update the curriculum with relevant changes. The campus adds internships and courses to B.com and BBA degrees. A wide range of activities is encouraged by the campus for students. 

How do you implement the curriculum and update for students in Kanoria PG Mahila Mahavidyalaya?

“Maintain academic and curriculum activities for pupils”

A wise syllabus plan made by us for students. We maintain a smooth functioning by proper coordination. Moreover, the campus provides co-curricular and extracurricular activities for all. The lesson plans are followed by teachers and complete syllabus within the correct time.

What are your views on the placements and higher education of students?

Our students in BBA choose MBA for higher studies. They get placed in companies in and outside Jaipur. The B.Com candidates also get job opportunities from campus. We help students to focus on self-development. 

How do you help a student to cope up with the outside competition?

“Boost the students with the latest industrial trends”

We mentor the pupils according to industry trends. Our campus conducts extension lectures, seminars, conferences, communication, and computer workshops for students' growth. They become talented and ready to face outside competition. 

What extracurricular activities enhance students' skills to face real-world challenges?

“Literacy and entrepreneurial workshops are provided to pupils”

Our college conducts computer literacy and entrepreneurial workshops. It increases the knowledge level of individuals. Another activity is personality development programs. The communication skills workshops raise the language level of every pupil. 

What challenges do you face to uplift the education quality of Kanoria PG Mahila Mahavidyalaya?

“To uplift paperwork in less time is a great difficulty for us”

We follow the syllabus of the University. It takes more time for faculty. A lot of paperwork in less time is another difficulty. The evaluation of students' tasks is also a challenging one.

What approaches do you bring apart from the curriculum to train students?

“Industry Internship, factory visits, and interactive talks are available to all pupils”

There is a lot of effort to lift the curriculum and train students. We organize field excursions, Industry internships, factory visits, and interactive talks for students. Successful entrepreneurs take a class for candidates. These activities raise the presentation and communication skills of pupils.

“Focus on your goals and remain positive in life”

My advice for a pupil is to focus on goals. It aids us to believe in our capabilities and also helps us to stand positive in life.
