Mr Manoj Kumar G.V. is the Training and Placement Officer at GRT Institute of Engineering and Technology, Tirutani. He has completed his B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering and an MBA in HR. Over the past 11 years, he has been in campus recruiting and training, as well as online training and web development for over 2 and a half years. He has long-standing positive contacts with many top brands such as Zoho, L&T, IVTL, Hexaware, Mphasis, Wipro, Virtusa Polaris, Tech Mahindra, etc. He is capable of bringing these companies to campus, depending on the number of candidates eligible.

What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Ensuring the internships and placements of the students in top companies”

Being the Training and Placement Officer, there are many roles that I need to play for the students. To ensure the students are ready for placement, I am responsible for their training. I also ensure that the companies that are coming to our college for recruitment are of the highest quality. I assist the students with finding jobs after college and with finding internships in the business world. The industrial visits by the companies and guest lectures for the students are also managed by me for improving the technical knowledge of the students.


How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

“A productive mentor-mentee system to establish positive relations”

To ensure healthy relations between the students and the faculties we have various faculty development programs. We try to create a better environment for the students to learn more and get ready for their future. We also have a mentor-mentee procedure in place at our college for the students to learn better while receiving maximum attention.


What are the best practices offered by the placement department?

“Counselling sessions, Intensive training and regular evaluations”

For providing the best industry practices several constructive activities are done by our department. We conduct industrial visits for the students to gain industry experience. Guest lectures from the industrial experts are arranged for the students. Intensive training and regular evaluations are done. Also, counselling sessions are done for the students to guide them in their career choices.

What are your views upon the placements and higher education of students?

“Student focus lies in working with core companies before opting for higher education”

The students at the college are looking towards jobs more than they are looking for higher studies. The companies that the students are looking forward to are the ones having product development jobs. They are also interested in the core companies for their jobs and careers.


How do you help your students to succeed in a highly competitive scenario?

“Upskilling with the latest knowledge through various courses”

We know that the competition is high in the real world. That is why we arrange industrial visits to prepare our students for competition. We arrange guest lectures from the industrial experts who know about the difficulties of the industry. Counselling sessions are done for the students to provide guidance to students. We have curated certification courses as well for the students that are made mandatory.


What has been your longstanding vision for this institute?

“To be able to achieve placements for all the eligible students of the college”

My vision was for the college to have 100% placements every year. Our students are placed in the top companies with good packages. We are continuously striving to achieve this by finding the strengths and weaknesses of students to place them based on that.

What are the placement trends at the Institute?

“80% placements achieved with top MNC’s like Zoho, HCL, Wipro, etc”

Placements this year were very good in the college. This year we achieved placements above 80% even during the tough period of Covid. The highest CTC offered was INR. 6 LPA. The lowest was INR 1.4 LPA. Many renowned companies trusted our institute for recruiting their future employees like Zoho, HCL, NCompas, Epam, Avasoft, Jaro, IDBI, Muthoot, TVS, Foxconn, Faurecia, Wipro Infra, Aptive, Zifo Rnd, etc.
