Dr.S.Arumugam has been working as Principal in GRT Institute of Engineering and Technology, Tiruttani since 2013. He obtained B.E degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bangalore University, Bangalore. Later, he did his M.E degree in Power Electronics and Industrial Drives from Sathyabama University, Chennai. He also received his Ph.D degree in the area of Inverter based Induction Heating systems from Bharath University, Chennai in 2011. He has more than 20 years of teaching experience in various engineering colleges. He has been the chief Superintendent of Anna university examinations since 2009. Dr. S. Arumugham held various admin positions like Dean in academics, administration and examination in various engineering colleges. He delivered special Guest Lectures at various engineering colleges in the field of Electrical, Electronics, High Voltage, Renewable Energy systems and Industrial Automation etc. He organized various National and Internal conferences at Ganadipathy Tulsi’s Jain Engineering college and GRT Institute of Engineering and Technology. He is a life member of Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE), and International Association of Engineers (IAE). He published more than 40 Research Oriented Technical Papers in National and International Journals.With his able guidance, 3 Research scholars obtained their Prestigious Ph.D degrees. He published Text books on Electrical Machines and Basic Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Uplifting the academic interest of the students from the rural areas of Tiruvallur and Vellore districts is our primary aim. Most of the people from these two districts were educationally backward. We have helped the people realize the necessity of education as an important tool in bringing them up in social progress.
