Dr. K.S. Meenakshisundaram is working as a Dean, GRT Group of Educational Institutions, Tirutani. He has completed his Ph. D in Management Studies and Agricultural Extension, M.B.A in Marketing Management and Personnel Management, M.Sc. in Agricultural Extension. He did his graduation in B.Sc. in Agriculture and Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication, Training and Development, and Software Technology. He is a multi-faceted seasoned professional with 39 years of rich and dynamic experience in Teaching, General Management, Personnel Administration, Training and Development, HRM and Faculties Management across industry verticals. He has also published various papers in international and national journals.

What are your roles and responsibilities?

“To offer prime guidance to students and contribute towards institute’s growth”

My roles and responsibilities as an administrator are to make everything is working in a systematic way and make sure the executions are conducted in a timely fashion. I always ensure to make myself available for the students to listen to them and solve their issues and queries on time. I make sure the best practices are being followed and there is harmony in the environment of the institution.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

“Passion to teach youths along with the urge to learn something new every day”

The key factors which kept me connected to the education sector is my passion for teaching students, my thrust for learning, and my dedication to sharing my learning with everyone. I want to contribute to the development of this nation by doing my part. I enjoy learning and gaining knowledge about the things around me.

What is your leadership philosophy?

“I believe in teamwork and providing equal opportunities to everyone”

I follow the democratic leadership style. As we all know that all-important decisions are taken when the right decisions are taken at on right time. Here in our institute, we have provided an open environment to communicate and encourage everyone to provide their suggestions so more ideas can be brought to the table.

How do you strategize the key programs for the marketing and administration of your school?

“We keep ourselves updated with the happenings of different colleges through events”

While planning for the programs to do marketing and administration of our institute, we refer to the leading schools and colleges around the world. And for this, we do organize various programs like seminars, inter-college tournaments, quiz competitions and further publicizing about the college on various social media platforms. Through these activities, we try to get an opportunity to interact with the college and it helps us to improve our current status. I follow the philosophy of “Think Locally, Act Globally”.

As we all know that in India, exposing rural students to Global Connect is a great task. Our institute is working towards this goal and contributing to this cause. In our area, we play a major role in Rural development and providing a world-class education to the students.

“To expand our existence to reach more youths and aspiring students”

The top priority of our institute is to expand our serving horizons so that not only students with wealthy backgrounds but also downtrodden and poor students can get a better life with good exposure to the latest technologies.

“Our institute do have the best faculties and infrastructure”

I would like to tell the people that our institute is a well-known brand and offers the great infrastructure to the students and staff along with dedicated and highly qualified faculties and high-tech labs to offer industry experience. 

What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for your institute specifically?

“Financial constraints are definitely a hindrance in this scope”

The biggest challenge we have in the present education system is that the fees criteria are very high for different courses and it definitely creates issues for students who come from economically weaker sections because they face various difficulties in continuing their education. We face the same problem in our institution as well and we are trying our best to reduce this fee issue so that the expectations are matched between the students and us.

How do you establish a healthy relationship and environment in your institute?

“By proving an environment to communicate openly”

To establish a healthy relationship and environment in my institute, I have created a positive, eco-friendly and problem-solving behavior. My students reach out to me when they have any issues apart from the subject as well. I also try to encourage them to have a problem-solving approach whenever they are having anything prominent.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Learn from others and form a strong network with brightest minds around you”

One of the best ways for you to move forward and achieve your life’s goals is by learning from the people who are already successful. By opening your heart to listen to their advice, you will probably reach your goals much faster. It is important to focus on the kind of attitude that you choose to display when you are at work turning your dreams into reality, rather than what you already know.
